Chapter 1049: I’ll Go Up and Find Him Myself

Chapter 1049: I’ll Go Up and Find Him Myself

Alice Turner looked at the security guard blocking her way, then lifted her head to gaze at the office building just a stone’s throw away. She took a deep breath, deciding to try contacting Benjamin Shaw again.

She took the phone out of the bag she carried with her and dialed his number. But once again, the result was the same—he still didn’t answer the call.

Benjamin Shaw! You’re really ruthless!

Alice Turner didn’t continue to call Benjamin Shaw. Instead, she directly dialed Alexander Shaw’s number, seeking his help to get into the company. She was determined to see that man today.

"Hello! Alice!"

After the phone rang twice, Alexander Shaw answered.

Once her call was answered, Alice turned a sigh of relief, "Dad! Is Benjamin at the office now? I need to talk to him."

She didn’t mince words with the person on the other end; she directly stated her purpose.

"I’m not sure, let me have the secretary check for you..."

"No need to bother your secretary. I’m right outside the company now; I can go up and find him myself." Alice Turner cut him off before Alexander Shaw finished, not wanting others to check the situation, as that troublesome man would surely lie about not being there. She intended to go in and find him herself.

Shocked, Alexander Shaw exclaimed, "You’re downstairs?!"

His surprise was so great that he couldn’t help but exclaim.

"Yes! I’m right downstairs at the office, but I can’t get in." Alice Turner didn’t directly say she was being stopped by the security guard. Since this was the company, she trusted Alexander Shaw would understand her predicament.

Just as she expected, Alexander Shaw was indeed aware of her situation and didn’t ask further questions. He simply said, "Pass the phone to the security guard."

As soon as Alexander Shaw finished speaking, Alice Turner immediately handed the phone to the security guard who was blocking her, "The chairman wants to speak to you."

She had no intention of intimidating the guard; she understood that he was just doing his job.

The security guard had been standing close by, and Alice Turner hadn’t intentionally avoided him while she was on the phone. The guard had overheard Alice and Alexander Shaw’s conversation just now and was now sweating nervously.

Oh my! He hadn’t recognized a diamond in the rough; the woman he wouldn’t let in turned out to be the boss’s wife.

"Hello, Chairman!"

He saw the chairman pass by the entrance every day but had never spoken to him. Thanks to the Young Madam, he finally had the fortune to speak to the chairman today.

Alexander Shaw was too busy to consider the guard’s feelings. As soon as he heard the guard answer the call, he immediately said, "The person you’ve stopped is my daughter-in-law. From now on, if it’s her, you must let her pass unconditionally."

He knew there was no guarantee his daughter-in-law would come again; all he could do was handle his own responsibilities well. Her coming to seek his son was already a cause for happiness.

"Understood!"

The guard agreed immediately and handed the phone back to Alice Turner, "Young Madam! Please proceed inside."

In less than a minute, the security guard addressed her formally.

Alice Turner glanced at the guard, whose attitude had dramatically shifted, clutching her phone as she walked inside.

After walking a few steps, she suddenly remembered something and turned back towards the security guard.

"Excuse me! May I ask which floor Mr. Shaw’s office is on?" She couldn’t possibly search floor by floor; who knows how long that would take.

The guard stood at attention and replied, "Mr. Shaw is on the eighteenth floor."

"Thank you!"

After expressing her gratitude, Alice Turner turned around and continued towards the elevator, striding towards it to go directly up and find Benjamin Shaw.
