Chapter 305 305: Follow Me
Chapter 305 305: Follow Me
That look. That tone. Without saying a word, it conveyed an entire paragraph of meaning.
"You're impressive."
"I knew it all along."
"I understand everything."
One could only say that Moria was a large man. Extremely large. His face was equally enormous, and a big face was capable of expressing a lot more information than an ordinary one.
After living together on the same ship for more than ten years, Enel understood exactly what that expression meant.
Enel: …
A small "grrr" symbol instantly appeared on Enel's forehead as tiny blue arcs of electricity crackled around him. He simply could not tolerate Moria's self-satisfied, lewd expression and that strange laugh. It was as if Moria had completely seen through him.
"What are those bat eyes of yours staring at?! And what nonsense is running through that stupid brain of yours?!"
Enel suddenly opened his eyes. Lightning flashed in his golden pupils as he pointed furiously at Moria.
"This god simply thinks you're too noisy! Disappear from this god's sight immediately!"
"Hehehe… disappear, disappear. I understand."
Moria chuckled strangely as his body slowly began merging with the shadow beneath his feet.
"I won't disturb you two. Please continue maintaining your 'peace and quiet.' Enjoy your little two-person world."
"Thirty Million Volts: Thunder Bird!"
Enel exploded.
He did not want to say another word. Raising his hand, he unleashed his attack. A sharp thunderbird formed from raging lightning screamed through the air and dove straight toward Moria.
"Whoa! Are you serious?!"
Moria shrieked, reacting with astonishing speed. He leaned backward and instantly sank his entire body into the shadow below him.
Boom!
The thunderbird crashed into the golden spire, erupting into dazzling sparks that illuminated the surrounding area like daylight. Yet it had not even touched the edge of Moria's shadow.
A few meters away, another shadow twisted.
Moria cautiously poked his head out, patting his chest in exaggerated fear.
"Hey, hey, hey! Enel! Was that really necessary?! I was just joking! Your temper is way too explosive. Hehehe… no wonder you need our navigator to stay with you so you can calm down and 'perform your duties.'"
Those words were like pouring oil onto a raging fire.
"Sixty Million Volts: Thunder Dragon!"
Enel's hair practically stood on end with fury as an even thicker bolt of lightning roared outward in the shape of a dragon.
"Oh my god!"
Moria's head instantly disappeared back into the shadow. The thunder dragon missed again, leaving only a scorched mark on the walls of the Golden City.
On distant ships far out at sea, confused pirates stared toward the flashes of lightning.
"What just happened?"
Far away, another shadow flickered on the top of a distant tower. Moria's strange laughter gradually faded into the distance.
"Hehehe… I'm leaving, I'm leaving! Young people sure have plenty of energy. You two keep up the guard duty! I'm going to find Perona. If you get tired, remember to call me with a Den Den Mushi!"
Enel fired a few more lightning strikes into empty air before finally sitting down in frustration. It was obvious that Moria's silent expressions and weird laughter had thoroughly irritated him.
Lina had watched everything quietly with a faint smile on her face. She picked up a fresh apple from the tray and handed it to Enel.
"Calm down."
Enel glanced at her, snorted softly, but still accepted the apple and took a vicious bite, as if he were chewing on that bastard Moria's shadow.
"Hmph. Stupid shadow," he muttered indistinctly while chewing.
Lina looked at his sulking profile, and her smile softened even more.
Was Enel, the guardian of the boundary, supposed to switch shifts tonight?
It seemed that the Thunder God had decided to personally guard the border until the very end.
How could a god lose his temper over something so trivial? As the Thunder God, shouldn't he be more magnanimous?
You crossed the line by two centimeters.
Die.
A bolt of lightning slammed down onto a distant pirate ship.
Crack!
Whoosh!
The grand carnival of the Golden City lasted for half a month.
During those two weeks, exotic treasures from around the world and breathtaking performances appeared one after another, pushing the meaning of luxury and celebration to a completely new extreme.
However, even the greatest banquet must eventually come to an end.
Half a month later, the noise finally began to fade.
The enormous fleet of the Whitebeard Pirates was the first to depart, sailing away amid Whitebeard's booming laughter.
"Gurarararara!"
Standing at the bow of the Moby Dick, Whitebeard waved his naginata, Murakumogiri, toward Reed and Tesoro who had come to see him off.
"That was some great booze! Next time there's a banquet, I'll bring even better wine!"
"You old miser. So you were hiding the good stuff all along."
"You brat. Just wait until next time we meet. I'll make sure you see it with your own eyes."
The Germa snail warships quietly sank beneath the sea.
Judge and Reiju stood at the railing, smiling as they waved goodbye to Reed and Vito.
Amid countless reluctant gazes, and even a few nosebleeds, the Kuja Pirates led by their empress departed gracefully.
Boa Hancock cast one final glance in Reed's direction before nodding slightly.
"Uncle Reed. Until next time."
Dracule Mihawk's coffin-shaped boat had already vanished silently into the night, just as quietly as it had arrived.
Mihawk muttered to himself, "What a vulgar curse."
As for Tesoro, the man himself naturally remained aboard his medium-sized golden flagship.
Doflamingo's flamingo ship sailed away across the waves accompanied by his loud laughter. Several allied kings who had "borrowed" large amounts of gold from him were still on board.
Under Sengoku's repeated urging, the Marine headquarters warships also began their return voyage. They were led by a visibly annoyed Akainu and a yawning Aokiji.
Garp, however, wanted to stay for a few more days.
When he said that, Kizaru's eyes actually lit up with excitement. Unfortunately, Sengoku's furious shouting through the Den Den Mushi nearly burst his eardrums.
In the end, Garp boarded the ship reluctantly, carrying a huge bag of donuts.
The ships of the allied nations gradually departed as well. Some left satisfied, others carried hidden motives, but without exception, everyone left with an unforgettable impression of the Golden City and the man seated upon its throne.
The vast Golden City suddenly felt much quieter and emptier.
However, not everyone had left.
The Red Hair Pirates and their iconic, somewhat ridiculous pirate ship still remained docked at the best berth.
Buggy protested loudly.
"Hey! That sounds insulting!"
Shanks and Buggy, the old rivals, had spent nearly every day among the aftermath of the banquet. Empty barrels of wine surrounded them in piles. Shanks once again hooked his arm around Buggy's neck.
"Burp… hey Buggy," Shanks slurred drunkenly. "Earlier you were acting all mysterious. You said after the banquet you'd let me meet someone. Who is it? Why keep building suspense?"
Buggy shoved Shanks' face away and placed his hands proudly on his hips.
"Shishishi! Shanks! Red Hair! Your good days are over!"
Buggy's expression began to twist with excitement.
"I've waited so many years for this moment. Finally I get to see that stupid shocked look on your face! This time, I win!"
Shanks rubbed his eyes in confusion.
"Win what? Who are you even talking about? Don't tell me you actually dug up the captain's treasure."
"Way more exciting than that! Shishishi!"
Buggy grinned proudly.
"Come with me! I guarantee your eyeballs are going to pop right out!"
