Chapter 702 - 691: The Male Supporting Character’s Bai Yueguang
Ye Qiu lives in a community with excellent security, where the residents are all either wealthy or noble, so privacy is highly valued; each elevator serves only one household, and owners can only stop at their own floor. If you want to visit a neighbor’s home, you have to pass through at least three doors, and if your opposite neighbor locks their security door, even accessing the adjoining doors becomes problematic.
Ordinary people might find it lacking in human touch, but Ye Qiu thinks it’s just perfect, being a celebrity, her biggest fear is trouble.
"Be mindful of the time—the production crew will be arriving in two hours," Sister Hong reminded her, not quite at ease.
"I know, I know," Ye Qiu waved her off and entered the elevator alone.
Just as she stepped into the elevator, the person in front of the elevator’s camera also received the message, watching her obsessively through the lens, then tidied up a bit and left the room as well.
The community doesn’t have many residents, but the space is vast, and the landscaping is done very well. Seeing the rockery and flowing water, Ye Qiu couldn’t help but smile.
At the moment she was feeding the fish, her sharp senses noticed a gaze watching her, and she guessed that it must be the male supporting character Su Sui, who had an unrequited love for her.
In her past life, every time she went out, Su Sui could always quickly locate her. Ye Qiu speculated that he was surveilling her, and indeed, her guess was later confirmed: Su Sui was a hacker who had long invaded the community’s surveillance system, later going madly so far as to plant a tracking app on her phone. Thinking about his crazy actions, Ye Qiu sighed deeply.
What else could she do? It was her own doing, after all. Now, Su Sui was just secretly in love with her, and aside from invading the surveillance system of the community, he hadn’t done anything too excessive; he didn’t even dare to actively greet her.
It was she who used him too much later on, ruining both herself and him.
When Ye Qiu got up and turned around, she noticed that Su Sui, who had been sneakily watching her, hurriedly turned his head away and even seemed about to walk away.
"Hey, wait a second," Ye Qiu called out to him.
Su Sui froze in place, not moving a muscle.
"Hello, my name is Ye Qiu. What’s yours?" Ye Qiu narrowed her eyes at him.
"Su Sui." When he spoke, his head was down, his bangs covering his eyes, his thin lips pressed tightly together, but even so, his handsomeness could not be hidden.
"Are you also a resident here?" Ye Qiu asked again.
"Yes." He still didn’t look up, his hands in his pockets, showing no signs of nervousness whatsoever.
"Me too, so now that we know each other, can we be friends?" Ye Qiuqiang extended her slender and pale hand.
Su Sui looked at the hand offered, and his Adam’s apple involuntarily bobbed. A long moment passed, and just when Ye Qiu almost thought she would fail, he finally reached out and clasped her right hand with his own.
His hand was large and easily enveloped Ye Qiu’s within it.
Su Sui carefully felt the warmth of the woman’s palm, clinging to it even as he retracted his hand, as if trying to preserve that warmth forever, but unfortunately, Ye Qiu didn’t notice this action hidden in his pocket.
"So we’re friends after a handshake, right? Since we’re friends, could you help me with a favor?" Ye Qiuqiang smiled cunningly, her expression somewhat spoiled; she may be asking for Su Sui’s help, yet her tone was almost commanding.
"Do you, do you always get familiar with strangers like this?" Su Sui started, his voice a bit hoarse, yet not unpleasant, as if it was a long-held restraint finally being voiced.
"How could that be? I only approached you to be friends because you’re handsome, and we live in the same community," Ye Qiu snorted softly, as if no one else was worthy to be her friend.
"Then what favor do you need from me?" Su Sui finally lifted his head, his gaze intense as he looked at her, his eyes seemingly bright with stars, very clear.
"Do you know I’m a celebrity?" Ye Qiu didn’t wait for his response and continued, "It doesn’t matter if you don’t know. Just be aware that I’m shooting a reality show today, and would you be willing to appear on camera as my friend?"
"Why me?" Su Sui stared at her.
Ye Qiu lifted her chin with a somewhat arrogant air: "I certainly won’t let those with ulterior motives steal my spotlight. What? Are you not willing?" Saying that, she crinkled her delicate nose, "Aren’t we friends?"
A hint of a smile and a trace of possessiveness unconsciously flashed in Su Sui’s eyes, then he spoke softly, "What do you want me to do?"
Seeing him say that, Ye Qiu’s eyes sparkled, looking up at him: "What can you do? I mean, do you have any special skills?"
"I can..." Su Sui initially wanted to say hacking into other people’s computers, but changed his mind at the last moment, "play games!"
"Really?" Ye Qiu looked interested, "Then, can you teach me how to play games during the shoot?"
"Sure." Su Sui’s voice grew even huskier.
"So should we go to your place or mine? Or to an internet café?" Ye Qiu tilted her head, pondered for a while, and then said, "Let’s go to my place. What do we need for gaming? What kind of specs does the computer require? I only have one computer at home. Maybe I should buy another one tomorrow."
"No need. I have a computer."
"But isn’t it said that laptops aren’t as good as desktops for gaming?" Ye Qiu said, somewhat understanding yet not quite.
"It’s enough." Su Sui said very confidently.
"Oh, then you can’t back out! You’re good at gaming, right? I don’t want to lose, because that would make me lose followers." Ye Qiu displayed her capriciousness once more.
"I won’t." Su Sui stared at her and said just those two words, unclear about what he wouldn’t do.
When leaving, Ye Qiu exchanged WeChat contacts with him and waved goodbye: "Then, wait for my message. You can’t go back on your word."
Su Sui watched intently as Ye Qiu’s figure receded, not laughing softly until she was completely out of sight.
Stepping into the elevator, Ye Qiu breathed a sigh of relief. Although he was just an ordinary person, he gave her a very dangerous vibe. If she didn’t know he liked her, if she wasn’t aware he wouldn’t hurt her for now, if it wasn’t for trying to save him, to heal him, she would have run away long ago. This Su Sui is really worthy of being a man who nearly brought down the protagonist.
"Little ancestor, you’re finally back." Sister Hong breathed a sigh of relief but couldn’t let go of her apprehension.
"The production team’s decision is to only film you by yourself for now, so I’ll have to go back later. Be careful on your own, and don’t get upset," Sister Hong instructed Ye Qiu worriedly.
"Yeah, I know, Sister Hong." Ye Qiu replied, lying on the couch, her response seemingly indifferent.
Sister Hong grew more worried, yet had no solution: "How about we rehearse a bit for the production team’s arrival later?"
"Oh Sister Hong, that would seem too deliberate. Don’t worry, I won’t have any issues. The audience would be blind not to like me."
I’d rather they were blind, so they wouldn’t notice your Eldest Lady temper!
Sister Hong sighed again, feeling that continuing like this would age her by at least ten years, and she finally left, carrying a profound sense of concern.
