Chapter 461 - 180: Tug of War with Qi Siyu, an Uninvited Guest Suddenly Intrudes_3
Peng Cheng stared intently at Li Yuan and asked with a puzzled expression, "Siyu, is this your student?"
"Yes," Qi Siyu responded, her expression slightly shy. This freshman had just given her quite a lesson.
Upon hearing this, Peng Cheng took a closer look at Li Yuan. The young man seemed somewhat familiar, but he couldn’t quite place him at that moment. As the youngest associate professor in the School of Physics at Daxia University, he rarely browsed online forums, followed celebrities, or read gossip news.
Once Peng Cheng heard Li Yuan was just a student, he immediately dismissed him as competition.
He turned to Qi Siyu with a fawning smile. Noticing her flushed cheeks, he quickly asked with concern, "Siyu, why is your face so red? Are you feeling unwell?"
Hearing Peng Cheng’s words, Qi Siyu’s face blushed as she subconsciously shot Li Yuan a resentful glare.
Peng Cheng’s gaze remained fixed on Qi Siyu. When he saw her flash Li Yuan what he perceived as an affectionate smile, a wave of aversion and hostility toward the student surged within him.
Qi Siyu glanced at Peng Cheng and said flatly, "I’m fine, Director Peng."
"Did you need me for something, Director Peng?"
Peng Cheng shot Li Yuan a look, finding him incredibly grating. The guy has no situational awareness at all. Shouldn’t he know to excuse himself and leave?
Peng Cheng glared at Li Yuan, repeatedly gesturing for him to leave.
But Li Yuan, as if oblivious, just smiled and didn’t budge an inch.
Li Yuan was rendered utterly speechless and cursed inwardly. This slick, over-dressed punk is completely clueless. Where did this bastard crawl out from? He ruined my fun and now expects *me* to be the one to leave? Besides, how could I possibly move in this state?
Peng Cheng, of course, was unaware of Li Yuan’s thoughts. He looked at the student with a haughty smile. "Ahem, young man, Mrs. Qi and I have some matters to discuss. Could you step out for a moment?"
Qi Siyu stole a glance at Li Yuan’s crossed legs. A memory seemed to surface, and her cheeks flushed as she explained to Peng Cheng, "Director Peng, I still have something to discuss with him. If you have something to say, please just say it."
Listening to Qi Siyu defend Li Yuan, Peng Cheng grew even more annoyed with the impolite student. But with the woman he was pursuing right in front of him, he couldn’t abandon his manners, so he maintained a graceful demeanor.
"It’s nothing important, Siyu. A new Japanese restaurant just opened in Modu, and I’d like to treat you. Are you free tonight?"
"I’m not free tonight."
Qi Siyu refused without the slightest hesitation. She felt nothing for this youngest associate professor at Daxia University. Relying on his academic credentials and promising prospects, this professor had recently been trying every method imaginable to court her, from sending flowers and inviting her out to eat, to giving her small gifts.
She had even secretly told her female colleagues that she only cared about looks and preferred tall, handsome men. She had hoped Peng Cheng would get the hint and stop wasting his efforts on her.
Who would have thought Peng Cheng would just carry on as he pleased, full of self-confidence? He was unfailingly solicitous every single day, even acting as if he were her "boyfriend," which left her both speechless and exasperated.
Qi Siyu had long grown tired of it, but her good manners required her to remain polite. "Director Peng, I already have plans for tonight," she replied. "Perhaps another time!"
