When it came to the "big star" on campus, the young freshmen all switched into spectator mode.

"Her name is Xia Zhijin. I told you about her yesterday."

Bai Weixi actually knew this already. She was just playing dumb to see how Li Yuan would respond. This impartial answer made her breathe a sigh of relief.

"Hello, my name is Bai Weixi. I'm Li Yuan's... high school classmate."

Bai Weixi extended her hand toward the demure and shy Xia Zhijin. The word "girlfriend" had been on the tip of her tongue, but she swapped it for "high school classmate" at the last second. To declare herself as Li Yuan's girlfriend in front of his other girlfriend would be far too provocative.

Xia Zhijin looked up at Bai Weixi with a puzzled expression. She politely shook her hand, and with her pearly white teeth barely parted, she replied in a voice as quiet as a mosquito's buzz.

"H-Hello! My name is Xia Zhijin. I'm... I'm his university classmate."

Xia Zhijin also didn't introduce herself as Li Yuan's girlfriend, simply stating that she was a university classmate.

"Liu Jia, take my textbooks back to the dorm for me," Li Yuan said, immediately tossing the books to Liu Jia.

Without another word, he stood up, beckoned to Bai Weixi and Xia Zhijin, and strode toward the classroom exit.

Seeing Li Yuan leave so abruptly without any room for discussion, Wang Lisha stamped her foot and muttered something under her breath.

For some reason, Bai Weixi felt a quiet sense of relief. At least this situation was manageable and hadn't led to any severe consequences. If she had followed the advice from Wang Lisha and the others, she might have just made things worse, causing Li Yuan to dislike her even more. She was already filled with regret. She should never have listened to her roommates and come to the Computer Science Department to stake her claim today.

Bai Weixi gave Xia Zhijin a small smile before quickly following Li Yuan out of the classroom.

Watching Li Yuan and Bai Weixi leave, Xia Zhijin remained standing there, dazed and at a loss for what to do.

Gao Xin asked, "Zhijin, are you going to follow them?"

"I don't know," Xia Zhijin replied, shaking her head in confusion.
