Chapter 862 - 858: Men Also Love Sweet Words (1)
"Alright, I'll arrange for you to be sent back this afternoon. You should undergo training again," Jimmy Horne said coldly.
No physical punishment or scolding, but sending Florence Ford away from Syrena is essentially cutting off her affection for him. To Florence, this is harder to bear than death.
"Young Master!" Florence raised her eyes, showing astonishment.
She couldn't believe the Young Master wanted to send her away.
She admitted she made mistakes, but did they warrant being sent back for more training? Clearly, the Young Master is afraid she might hurt Camila Ruiz.
Until now, she's been jealous and envious, but she hasn't truly harmed Camila yet, has she?
"Young Master, please give me another chance. I promise I won't make such mistakes again!" Florence didn't want to leave, pleading desperately. Despite the heartbreak, she knew she couldn't go on like this. She needed to let go, understand that the Young Master would never love her.
Loving a man who doesn't love you back is just self-torture.
Since ancient times, having emotions is more painful than being heartless.
From the age of four, it's been nineteen years now. Her infatuation with the Young Master has lasted nineteen years, but what has she gained in these nineteen years? Aside from pain, jealousy, and envy, has she ever received a single tender word from the Young Master? Since childhood, the Young Master has been indifferent and distant towards her. Can't she see it yet? She continues like a moth to a flame, enduring hardships to stand behind him. This is the only reward for loving him for so long, and now the Young Master wants to extinguish her reward.
Florence's pain wasn't reflected on her face, but the torment she endured inwardly caused a slight pallor.
"Who was it just now who said they were willing to be punished?" Jimmy Horne's expression turned colder.
He had to use this opportunity to send Florence away, let time dilute her infatuation, and ensure Camila's safety. There are too many examples of vengeance born from love, and he doesn't want Florence to take that path nor want Camila to suffer.
Honestly, this punishment is the best for Florence. She won't see their sweetness, won't be triggered, and will continue to be an excellent bodyguard.
"Billy." Camila Ruiz noticed Florence's pale complexion and knew this punishment was heavy for her. She felt compassion and decided not to dwell on Florence's earlier "self-willed" actions anymore. She turned her head, looked up at Billy, and gently called out, "Shall we talk?"
Regarding Camila, Billy could hardly refuse her requests, so naturally, he agreed to have a talk.
Camila gave Florence a comforting look, then turned and entered a nearby lounge.
"Camila, you want to plead for her."
Once inside the lounge, Billy immediately pulled Camila into his embrace from behind and asked in a low voice. He could easily guess this little girl's thoughts.
Camila didn't remove his hand from her waist but allowed herself to lean deeper into his embrace, looking up at him from behind and sighing softly, "Billy, Sister Florence loves you, very much, even as much as I do."
Jimmy Horne's face slightly stiffened, responding gravely, "I know. But I don't love her, not a bit. Camila, love is selfish. My love can only be for you and only will be for you. Even if other women love me to death, I won't reciprocate. Don't think about pushing me to Florence, because that would be the end of me!"
His approach to love is identical to his father Noah Reyes's dedication and passion.
Camila turned around in his embrace, placing her hands on his solid chest, gently caressing his handsome face, and said, "I didn't say I would push you to Sister Florence. Like you said, love is selfish; everyone wants to be each other's only, me included. I just think this is too cruel to Sister Florence. To be honest, she hasn't committed a grave error."
"I know."
Jimmy Horne spoke softly.
"Camila, if we don't do this, Florence will only suffer more. Our holding hands, even our future marriage, would be cruel to her. Instead of allowing her to be tortured by our love daily, we should let her leave us and let time heal her wounded heart."
He's doing this for Florence's own good.
Camila wants to plead for Florence, to keep her here. This is Florence's true desire; she definitely doesn't want to leave. But Camila's thoughts are superficial, lacking deep reflection. If Florence remains by his side, it will only lead to greater suffering for her.
Camila seems to be helping Florence, but in reality, she's harming her.
Camila pondered deeply.
After a while, she nodded in understanding.
"Camila, you really need to learn from my aunt, be gentle yet firm, so no one can bully you." Jimmy Horne pressed her closer into his embrace, speaking with affection.
"Sister Florence isn't bullying me. Looking from a woman's perspective, I understand Florence. Besides, earlier I..." Camila embarrassedly stuck out her tongue, saying, "I teased Florence a bit; you could say I sort of got back at her. Billy, I won't let anyone bully me."
Jimmy Horne laughed quietly, saying no more.
After holding each other for a moment, Camila pushed him away, saying, "I need to talk to Sister Florence. I think it's necessary to make this clear to her; I don't want her leaving harboring resentment towards you."
Jimmy's tender expression immediately turned to disapproval.
"Look at you, changing your face as quickly as flipping a page. We've known Sister Florence for over ten years; are you worried she might eat me?" Camila laughed, poking his chest.
Jimmy Horne was nervous about the two women talking because Florence was skilled in martial arts, while Camila wasn't. He worried Florence might act out and harm Camila.
"Don't worry, we won't argue, nor will we fight. Don't think of us as too violent." Camila reassured him with a laugh, then unapologetically pushed him out of the lounge.
"Camila."
Jimmy Horne still felt a bit disapproving.
What good could come from a conversation between rivals?
"Trust me!"
Jimmy Horne stopped, gazed deeply at her, then turned to walk out. Florence remained standing where she was, her expression unchanged.
"Sister Florence."
Camila walked to Florence's side, took her hand, and smiled, "Sister Florence and Billy have been back for over a week. I haven't had the chance to invite Sister Florence for a meal or a cup of coffee. Now that it's after work, why don't I take Sister Florence out for dinner?" With that, she didn't wait for Florence to agree and pulled her along as they left.
