Chapter 856 852: Accident or Conspiracy? (Part 4)
"Okay, I'll come over right away."
"Brother Ivan, there's no need, it's nothing I can't handle. You don't need to come, and don't let Billy know either. I don't want to alarm him too." Camila Ruiz said anxiously, but all she heard was the dial tone; Ivan Horne had already hung up the phone.
"Why shouldn't I know?"
Jimmy Horne's deep voice suddenly came from the entrance of the ward.
Camila Ruiz was stunned; he was already at the hospital?
How did he know?
His information was even faster than Ivan Horne's!
Jimmy Horne strode into the ward, first glanced at the woman, then pulled Camila Ruiz into his arms, inspecting her from head to toe. Only after confirming she was fine did he feel relieved.
"Billy, how did you... weren't you supposed to have a meeting?" Camila Ruiz wanted to ask how he knew about her situation, but then thought about his identity and the insider information from the Black Emperor Group, and decided it wasn't worth asking. Maybe like her godfather in his younger days, he had secretly arranged for hidden bodyguards to protect her.
What worried her was that he had just taken over the Black Emperor Group today and was supposed to be at a high-level management meeting, he shouldn't have come here.
She was perfectly fine; he didn't need to worry so much.
"Nothing is more important than you."
Jimmy Horne's words clearly stated Camila Ruiz's position in his heart.
Camila Ruiz wanted to say something, but remembering they were in a ward, she refrained from discussing it further, and turned to Crystal Sanders instead, gently saying, "Do you have a phone? I can call your family for you."
"I..." Crystal Sanders hesitated.
"I'll call myself." After a moment of hesitation, Crystal Sanders said quietly.
Camila Ruiz handed her phone to Crystal Sanders, who took it and entered a number she knew so well she could recite it backward in her sleep.
The call connected quickly.
"Yi."
She called timidly.
Camila Ruiz slightly raised an eyebrow, wondering if this Yi was the father of the child in Crystal Sanders' belly, or perhaps the big brother who adopted her. Crystal Sanders' timid expression made Camila Ruiz feel sorry for her, curious about how the other party treated her to make her so afraid.
"I'm at the hospital."
Crystal didn't say much, just told the other person which hospital she was in.
Then she hung up the phone and returned it to Camila Ruiz.
Camila Ruiz noticed her eyes were red again.
The clever Camila Ruiz could easily conclude that this man named Yi was indeed the father of Crystal's child.
Did he abandon her?
Or perhaps he already had a wife?
Reflecting on Crystal's expression when they first met, Camila Ruiz couldn't help but speculate in her heart.
"Crystal, you should rest first, I'll go get your medicine." Camila Ruiz said gently, then pulled Jimmy Horne out of the ward.
Once outside, Camila Ruiz muttered, "That man must be no good!"
Jimmy Horne listened to her inexplicable muttering and asked with some confusion, "What man?"
"Crystal is pregnant; when I almost ran into her, she looked terrible, probably because of her poor mental state. I suspect that man toyed with her. Such a beautiful woman, and he still had the heart to hurt her. Doesn't that make him a bad guy?"
Jimmy Horne nodded.
As long as she wasn't calling him a bad guy, it was fine.
"Later, I'll confront that jerk. If the man named Yi is indeed the father of Crystal's child, I want to ask what his attitude is. Crystal's pregnant and he doesn't even help her with nutrition. If he didn't want her to have the baby, he shouldn't have gotten her pregnant. Shameless bastard!"
"That's their private matter; you shouldn't meddle," Jimmy Horne couldn't help but say.
"What do you mean meddle? Crystal is lying in a hospital bed almost losing her baby because of me. I have to take full responsibility. Besides, as a woman, I empathize." Camila Ruiz said indignantly, having already deemed the man named Yi a heartless jerk.
Jimmy Horne couldn't help but shake his head with a smile, saying no more.
"I'm fine, you should go back to the company. Today is very important for you," Camila Ruiz said, after retrieving the medicine for Crystal, and insisted Jimmy return to the office.
But Jimmy Horne didn't move.
"I'm really fine, believe me. I'm not a three-year-old little girl; I'm already twenty-three. You should hurry back to the meeting, or else those senior managers will think you're an untrustworthy CEO. You promised to delay the meeting for half an hour, but if it doesn't start after a long time, they might think you're arrogant and dismissive of them."
Camila Ruiz pulled him to the elevator. Seeing he still wanted to stay with her, she quickly gave him a peck on the cheek, blushing slightly as she said, "See you at noon. Ivan Horne is already on his way. With him here, Crystal's family wouldn't dare do anything to me. Besides, this is our group's hospital; the doctors and nurses will protect me."
Camila Ruiz knew he was worried and concerned. This incident started because of her, and if Crystal's family were formidable people, they might trouble her.
Looking deeply at her, Jimmy Horne suddenly pulled her into his arms.
She was right; today was indeed important for him.
After sending off Jimmy Horne, Camila Ruiz returned to the ward.
She poured some warm water and gave Crystal her medicine, which were mainly pain relief and pregnancy-stabilizing drugs.
"Crystal."
A low and urgent voice burst through the door.
Not very tall but quite strong and imposing, the figure entered with the voice.
Camila Ruiz turned her head, stunned.
The man who walked in bore a striking resemblance to Charles Colson, about seventy percent alike, but shorter and slightly older, around thirty-four or thirty-five years old, with a cold, inscrutable expression. Unlike Charles Colson's deliberately crafted indifference, this man's coldness seemed genuine, giving off a sinister vibe.
His face was filled with urgency and a deep concern, showcasing his anxiety for Crystal.
Following him were two bodyguards in black suits, indicating he was a wealthy young master.
But why did he resemble Charles Colson so closely?
