Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law

Chapter 843 - 840

Chapter 843 - 840

Jimmy Horne drove away with Camila Ruiz from Twick Shoe Factory just as Charles Colson's car suddenly caught fire. It was highly likely someone had tampered with his car, and although Camila didn't want to leave Charles's side at that moment, Jimmy wouldn't let her stay for even a minute. She could only give Charles an apologetic glance before leaving.

Though Charles felt a twinge of jealousy, when he received the apologetic look from Camila, he could only respond with an indulgent brotherly look, telling her that he was fine.

In the outskirts, at Nameless Manor.

This was Noah Reyes's residence in Syrena, managed by the Horne Family for many years. Despite the passage of over a decade, Nameless Manor showed no signs of decline. The trees in the garden had grown from saplings to towering trees, imbuing the entire manor with a fresh, natural vibe.

Upon entering the manor, Jimmy parked the car in the open parking lot inside.

"Young Master, you're back."

Florence Ford, who had returned to the manor earlier, came out to greet them after hearing the sound of the car.

Hearing the voice, Camila turned to look outside and saw a tall, stunning woman gazing at Jimmy with respect and affection. Her heart clenched at once; was there a woman by Jimmy's side?

Seemingly reading her thoughts, Jimmy gently took her hand, locking eyes with her in a firm gaze, explaining in a low voice, "This is my personal bodyguard, someone you also know—a former acquaintance of yours."

Camila was slightly stunned. His bodyguard was a woman? Her acquaintance?

Sister Florence?

Camila immediately opened the car door, got out, and stood before Florence Ford, smiling as she exclaimed, "Sister Florence, is that you? It's been eight years, and you've become even more dazzling, like the radiant sun in the high sky, enviable indeed." Being slightly shorter, she spoke while slightly tilting her head up.

Florence merely gave her a cool glance and coldly remarked, "Eight years apart, and your tongue has grown sweeter." Envy? Hearing that word from Camila's mouth, Florence felt only irony. She was the one who should be envied!

No matter how beautiful she appeared, the Young Master didn't have eyes or a heart for her.

Though they've known each other since they were young, their treatment was worlds apart.

"Young Master, it's hot outside, please come inside." Florence reverted to a respectful demeanor towards Jimmy, her sharp eyes revealing her gentleness towards him, though her face remained expressionless.

"Camila, let's talk inside." Jimmy didn't respond to Florence, turning to look at Camila warmly, then took her hand, guiding her into the house.

Florence's face remained unemotional, but a flicker of pain passed through her eyes.

Turning around, she also followed them inside.

"Florence, stay outside for now. I'll call you if anything comes up."

Just as Florence took two steps inside, Jimmy's deep, undeniable voice halted her in place, her expression becoming even more unreadable.

"Yes!"

The word squeezed out between her teeth.

She had been by the Young Master's side for two years now. Being a personal bodyguard, they were practically inseparable. Although the Young Master was capable of handling everything after his stringent training, she had jumped at the chance to care for him since joining him. She, balancing strength and gentleness, believed her abilities would change his view and feelings towards her.

Yet...

As long as Camila Ruiz was alive, she would never gain the Young Master's attention!

Without his favor, she couldn't break the Reyes Family's rules to marry the Young Master as a member.

Eight years ago, Florence had confidently entrusted Jimmy to Camila. But over these past eight years, she climbed her way back to Jimmy's side, never truly giving up her feelings for him, constantly hoping he would fall for her.

Now, she harbored intense dislike for Camila Ruiz, yet as soon as Jimmy returned, besides visiting the Horne Family, he immediately sought out Camila.

The harsh reality left Florence deeply resentful, though she could only bury it deeply within, not daring to show any hint of it. The Young Master wasn't the same as he was eight years ago; cross him now, and he might very well end her himself!

"Boss, who is that girl?"

A young bodyguard in black asked Florence curiously, his dark eyes filled with admiration for her. A beauty, which man wouldn't be drawn to her? All the young men following Jimmy harbored feelings for Florence, each trying to win her favor.

Florence gave her subordinate a cold glance, saying icily, "Don't pry into the Young Master's affairs!"

The man immediately straightened, responding seriously, "Yes."

Without another word to him, Florence briskly walked away.

Jimmy led Camila into the house.

"Billy." Camila tried to push him away.

"Camila." Billy called out softly.

Camila looked up at him, belatedly noticing the dark circles under his eyes, a sign of severe sleep deprivation. Frowning, she asked, "Your dark circles are serious."

Was he so busy that he didn't even have time to rest?

She knew nothing about the Fury sect nor understood what responsibilities he carried as the Young Master, yet from their two months together eight years ago, she could guess it wasn't easy for him.

But she hadn't expected him to be so overworked that he couldn't spare any time to rest.

Such a stunning face, marked by dark circles, though he seemed spirited, a closer look revealed deep fatigue within his eyes. He must have rushed to Syrena soon after finishing some task.

Breaking free from his grip with effort, Camila tenderly raised her hand, placing her slender, fair, soft hand on his eyes, feeling further regret for her earlier overreaction upon seeing him.

She hadn't considered his weariness.

She had even blamed him for his sudden appearance.

Complained about him not answering her calls or replying to her messages.

"Billy, I'm sorry."

Camila apologized with deep affection.

Aware of what she meant, Jimmy affectionately grasped her hand, gently pulling it away from his face, speaking with a mix of love and apology, "Camila, I'm the one who should apologize. I shouldn't have ignored your calls and messages; it's my fault. I made you wait for eight years, and it wasn't my intention to keep you waiting that long, I..."
