Chapter 840 - 837: When Rivals in Love Finally Meet (Part 2)
A City, Colson Consortium.
In the CEO's Office on the thirtieth floor, Joseph Colson stared viciously at a stack of photos in his hand. Those photos were secretly taken by his people of Charles Colson.
Even though Charles now has the Valence Group to protect him, Joseph doesn't dare openly confront Charles, yet the hatred in his heart doesn't diminish for a single day, ensuring he won't let Charles off the hook.
Eight years have passed, and every time Joseph took action secretly, Charles managed to evade him.
Later he quieted down for a few years, waiting for Charles to climb higher, achieve true success and fame, then strike heavily to knock Charles down, leaving him with nothing, to finally dissipate the hatred in his heart.
Blinded by hatred, Joseph focused solely on attacking and avenging his brother, neglecting the brotherly love that still existed deep within him.
The intimacy between Charles and Camila Ruiz was also captured by his people.
Sharp eyes fixated on the two people in the photo, with a sinister gaze full of intense jealousy.
He couldn't believe his once clueless brother was so lucky, to be as close as siblings with the princess of the Ruiz family, who not only holds a high position there but is also significant in the Horne Family, the top family in T City.
From the photos, he saw that his brother harbored feelings for Camila Ruiz.
The things his brother possessed were what Joseph most wanted to destroy. He had previously used underhanded means to make his brother lose several jobs. If he could take Camila Ruiz away from his brother, wouldn't his brother be severely hurt and saddened?
With this thought, Joseph suddenly burst into a cold laugh.
He carefully reviewed the photos of Camila Ruiz again. She did not strike him as exceptionally beautiful, but still quite attractive. What he found most striking was her smile, so natural, so warm, along with two lovely dimples; definitely a dimpled beauty.
"Ring... ring..."
His phone suddenly rang.
He took out his phone to see a familiar number. A trace of gentleness flickered across Joseph's sinister eyes but quickly reverted to a cold gaze. Pressing the answer button, he continued to look at the photos, asking icily, "What is it?"
"Joseph, I feel a bit unwell. Can you come and take me to the hospital for a check-up?" A timid female voice came through.
"What's wrong?"
Joseph's tone was not as cold as before but still very indifferent.
"I feel a bit dizzy and constantly want to vomit. I don't know what's going on."
"Can you still walk?"
"Yes." The woman's voice became more timid, as if she was very afraid of Joseph.
"Then go downstairs yourself and take a taxi to the hospital. I'm busy now. Call me if anything happens." After finishing, he ruthlessly hung up the phone, not giving the woman another chance to speak.
After disconnecting the call, Joseph casually tossed his phone onto the desk, packed away the photos one by one, and then picked up the phone again to make a call. Once the other party answered, he ordered in a low voice, "Proceed according to plan."
"Okay!"
A cold voice responded to him.
A sinister smile surfaced on Joseph's face with this cold response, making him look somewhat ferocious.
Valence Group.
"Damn it, Camila didn't come up!" In the manager's office, Jimmy Horne's face was dark as he shouted at Ivan Horne in panic. He ran upstairs again only to find that Camila hadn't come up.
"Ivan, you are the young master of the Blazing Gate, watch your image. Don't shout in my office, or my employees might think I stole your woman. Oh no, they might mistakenly think you stole my woman." Ivan Horne sat on the sofa, lazily speaking to the dark-faced Jimmy Horne.
Image?
Jimmy Horne's face darkened further. He had no idea where Camila had hidden herself. He was deeply anxious at the moment, unaware that an image could bring Camila back.
At this moment, he regretted so much that it felt like his guts were tying themselves into knots; it was all his fault. He shouldn't have given her such a surprise, causing her to run off in a huff.
"Brother, could you stop gloating and tell me where Camila might be now?" Jimmy Horne suddenly moved close to Ivan Horne, almost pressing his dark face into Ivan's smiling one. He was extremely anxious now, and it seemed his cousin was still gloating. Eighteen years away, he realized how little he understood this cousin.
But the intimidating aura of his cousin still commanded his respect. He didn't know why he was so in awe of Ivan Horne.
Ivan Horne pushed Jimmy's handsome face away, laughing. The gloating in his smile was so intense that even he felt a bit embarrassed. With glittering eyes, he said, "Aren't you the young master of the Blazing Gate? Just get your people to investigate, and you'll find out. Your Blazing Gate is known for being first-rate at gathering information, according to my dad. You ask me where Camila is. I'm not her shadow; how would I know where she is."
Actually, Ivan Horne could guess where Camila Ruiz might go, but he planned not to help his cousin too quickly. After all, his cousin had made Camila wait for eight years, and on top of that he was awful enough to ignore Camila's calls for a week. Camila had every right to be angry. He felt if he didn't help Camila teach this cousin who bullied her as a child a lesson, he wouldn't deserve to be her big brother.
He would support reason, not family ties.
Jimmy Horne really wanted to tear away the smile on Ivan Horne's face. He'd already sent his people to find out where Camila Ruiz might have gone, but surely his investigation was not as fast as Ivan's. Ivan, though keeping a low profile, had secretly won over many hearts, even having people work for him in secret.
Moreover, his instinct told him Ivan knew where Camila had gone, yet Ivan wore a punchable expression and refused to tell him.
"Brother!" Jimmy Horne approached again, pointing to his eyes helplessly, he said to Ivan Horne, "Look at my eyes."
Ivan Horne chuckled, pushing him away again, saying, "I see you have dark circles under your eyes."
"Why won't you help me since you know, and why do you hide Camila's whereabouts?" If not for brotherly ties, Jimmy Horne would have liked to grab this devil in front of him and give him a good beating.
Ivan Horne sighed deliberately, then thought for a moment before saying, "Alright, seeing that you're really busy, so much so that you hardly have time to sleep, affecting your handsome appearance. I'll kindly give you some hints. Camila wouldn't go back to the Ruiz Family, nor my home for that matter. She didn't drive, didn't bring her phone or handbag, penniless; where could she go? The street is too crowded, easy to expose her whereabouts, who could provide a little solace for her to seek refuge and find quiet? Billy, with your wisdom, if you can't figure this out, then I suggest you stop pursuing Camila and let her seek happiness elsewhere, like, with me, absolutely worry-free... Don't tear off my tie; Camila bought it for me after her first paycheck. Damn, are you a robber? If you're going to rob, rob money, why my tie?"
