Chapter 419 419: Love Each Other, Together Forever (4)_1
Glades Horne raised an eyebrow. He knew it was normal, but he just couldn't bear to see Julia suffering so much from vomiting. When he saw her vomit, he wished he could take her place.
"Isn't there any other remedy that can completely suppress it?"
Secretary Yang shook her head.
"Alright, I understand."
"CEO, if you're looking for a doctor to prescribe medicine, it's best to find an obstetrician at the hospital. They generally have more experience in these matters than other doctors."
Secretary Yang knew the Horne Family had their own family doctor. This doctor was knowledgeable in various fields, including surgery, internal medicine, and pediatrics. However, when it came to obstetrics, family doctors generally lacked the experience of obstetricians in major hospitals.
"Okay, I understand. Thank you," Glades Horne replied indifferently.
Dr. Lei of the Horne Family was, in fact, one of the few general practitioners with comprehensive expertise.
His experience was definitely no less than that of an obstetrician.
This, however, was something Glades Horne didn't mention to Secretary Yang.
Since Secretary Yang and Dr. Lei had said the same thing, he could only accept Dr. Lei's advice and ask him for some medicine to alleviate the vomiting later.
"Also, Yang," Glades Horne suddenly asked, "who in your secretarial department has the best alcohol tolerance?"
Julia Bluen's secretary hadn't been hired yet. He decided to solve the issue for her, considering she was constantly swamped with work. Plus, with all the recent family matters, he guessed she had likely forgotten about this.
He didn't know whether people hired from outside would be loyal, but he was sure that anyone transferred from the Valence Group would be.
Secretary Yang thought for a moment, then answered, "The one with the best alcohol tolerance is probably Chief Assistant Ruiz's chief secretary, Anne Jones."
Hansen Ruiz's person, huh...
Glades Horne nodded, waved his hand at Secretary Yang, and said, "Okay, I understand. You can go back to work."
Secretary Yang then left the CEO's Office.
Only after she closed the door and returned to her desk did Secretary Yang's uneasy heart finally settle.
As soon as Secretary Yang left the office, Glades Horne immediately picked up the phone and called Hansen Ruiz.
"What's up?"
Hansen Ruiz's warm, deep voice came through, accompanied by the sound of cars. It indicated that Ruiz was currently driving on the highway.
"I want Anne Jones!" Glades Horne stated bluntly.
Although he was the CEO and could transfer any employee within the Valence Group, Anne Jones was Hansen Ruiz's chief secretary. He still thought it best to give Hansen a heads-up, to avoid Ruiz getting upset about his long-time secretary being transferred.
"Did Yang anger you?" Hansen Ruiz asked in confusion. "Secretary Yang is a seasoned secretary, more capable than Anne Jones. Why would Glades Horne want Anne Jones from me?"
"Are you giving her to me or not?" Glades Horne countered.
"I'm used to her. If you take her, won't I have to train a new one?" Hansen Ruiz said, somewhat reluctantly. As someone who rarely came to the office, he needed a very bright and alert secretary. Anne Jones was the only one he had successfully trained. Surely Glades Horne should give him a proper reason for wanting to transfer his secretary?
"Fine, if you won't. In that case, you can attend a meeting for me this afternoon, one organized by the Chamber of Commerce," Glades Horne said casually into the receiver, hitting Ruiz right where it hurt.
On the other end of the phone, Hansen Ruiz complained, for once, "Please, Boss, I'm driving right now, with precious gifts, taking my woman home to meet her parents! If you make me attend that meeting in your place, aren't you deliberately trying to kill my happiness? Which employee at Valence Group isn't yours to command? If you want to transfer her, just do it. I'll train a new one."
Hansen Ruiz had always agreed to Glades Horne's orders without objection.
This time, he was about to take Rachel Bailey to her hometown to meet the Bailey family—a major event in his life! He didn't want his superior to sabotage it, so he couldn't help but argue and complain a little.
"I really don't know what you find wrong with Yang. How about this: leave Yang to me. Don't fire her, alright?" Hansen Ruiz's voice came through again.
But Glades Horne hung up the phone with a CLICK.
He was poaching Anne Jones for his dear wife; he hadn't said a single bad thing about Secretary Yang from start to finish, ha!
As for Hansen Ruiz losing a capable secretary, that was Ruiz's problem. Glades had merely informed him as a courtesy. Whether Ruiz agreed or not was irrelevant; there was no one Glades Horne wanted whom he couldn't get. For his dear wife, he would willingly pluck the stars from the sky, never mind transferring one of his own employees.
