Chapter 86: Thada’s Warning (2) Part III
Chapter 86: Thada’s Warning (2) Part III
“Be a little careful of those hunters, too.”
“Hunters? What do they hunt?” Maysa raised her eyebrows, asking with a confused expression.
“There’re hunters on the Thai server too, Da?” The pretty green eyes of Waree had a trace of shock in them.
“Yup, even more than on the U.S. server and a lot better than them, too.”
“Wait, hold up, don’t leave me out here. Tell me what these hunters are?” The left out one was looking back and forth between them for an explanation. So, Waree turned to her with a serious expression.
“The hunters like to collect rare items. These guys will challenge other players for a fight with some weird bet to take the items from them. Mostly, they just look for a loophole in the game to steal from the players.”
Waree’s explanation got Maysa’s eyebrows knitted together. Many things did not make sense somehow, so she could not help but get confused.
“But, is there a rule to not steal or snatch items from the others?”
“Yes, there is a system that prevents the players’ items from getting snatched or stolen. But this kind of player uses a cheating program to cause some bugs in the system. So, they can take the items from the other players.”
“This is serious, Miss Maysa,” Thada added with a serious voice. “These players don’t care about anything, except for taking the items they want. They’re willing to break rules to get it. Currently, they are a big problem that is spreading on the server. The GMs have been trying to deal with them for a long time. But most of the time these guys are always fast to be alert and get away from us.”
Hearing that, Maysa held up her hand to her lip as she was processing it.
“You’re telling me that the hunters might be aiming for the items that Vincent has?”
“There’s a very high chance that might actually happen.” The GM replied. “Because right now, he’s the one who owns two legendary items. Plus, your guild just made a debut a while ago, with only a few members. Unlike the four gods who own the items as well, but they have more players under their guilds. That’s why it’s harder to attack them than to attack you.”
That was the moment Maysa realized the seriousness of Thada’s warning for the first time.
Her guild was a new guild with a few members, but they had three pieces of the legendary items with them. So, this would be the right moment for the hunters to attack her guild. Because if they let the guild grow larger through time and had more members, it would be harder for them to attack it.
So, this was why this guy so bothered coming all the way here just to warn her party about it.
Because this threat that was coming for them was quite scary!
However, the more Maysa thought about it, the more she got frustrated somehow. Because to her, this group of players was like some annoyance that made the game terribly less fun.
“That sounds like fun.” The sweet voice said fearlessly, making the other two stunned.
“May, this is serious,” Waree warned with a worried look. “These hunters are dangerous. If they can get to us, there’s a chance that we’d get chased down, and lose our items. Also, they don’t really care about the methods they use, you know.”
“That’s why I said it sounded like fun.”
Maysa said softly before she curled up a big grin. And Waree could not come up with an argument at that.
“If they think that they can come stealing from me so easily like eating a cake, I’ll prove them wrong.” Then she turned to look at Thada. “I need to thank you again for coming to warn us about all this, Mister Thada. And I’ll be looking forward to meeting those guys mindfully.”
Thada did not smile or frown. His eyes were just looking at the other’s eyes like they were trying to read her mind.
“Those people will not just stand still for you to take them down like the monster, Miss Maysa.” The deep voice said firmly. “They have some cheating programs that will get you adverse. And believe me, they’re not coming at you alone. At least there will be ten of them. Especially when the items they’re aiming for are these key items you have.”
“They can try if they think it would be very easy for them to take the items from us.” Maysa cut him off, with a cocky attitude that the other quietly considered in his mind. “Let them come. It doesn’t matter if there are ten, a hundred, or a thousand of them; Vincent, Nam, and I will beat them down. You just wait and see.”
After that big talk finished, there was silence covering the area for a moment, before the tense one from a while ago burst out with a very loud laugh. As well as Waree, who could not help but giggle. But Thada knew this was not just some nonsense talk, but it was full of trust. And the trust was not just about trusting herself, but it included trust for her alliance around her, too.
“You’re so confident, Miss Maysa.” Thada teased as his stomach still hurt from laughing.
“Well, the ones who will create a new legend like the Nemesis, why would we get scared of just some low-class thugs like them?” Maysa said with a shrug. “I think, no... I knew from the start that it wasn’t going to be so easy to become a legend. However, we’re prepared to encounter any kind of enemies. Especially Vincent, if we have him with us, I believe that there’s nothing I can’t do, too.”
The GM could not help letting out a slight laugh when he heard her announcing the faith in her buddy like that. Also, the scene he was seeing in front of him kind of confirmed the assumption he had in mind. She was gently lifting the taller man’s head up to rest comfortably on her lap, her hand stroking his dark hair like she was determined to protect him.
Well, it was kind of funny to see this, when they said they were not dating.
But they seemed to trust each other so much that they looked more like an old married couple now!
“Looks like you lied to people about so many things today, Miss Maysa.”
“Yes?” The one who did not realize she got teased, raised her voice. Only the smart one like Waree here who got what Thada said, so she turned away to hide her giggling to the side, leaving the gunner confused.
“Well,” Thada cut it off. “May you excuse me.”
“Oh, you’re leaving?” Maysa faked her voice to be so regretful, making Thada shake his head in realization that she really hated him like she said. The tall man stood up and started walking out. But only a few steps away, he turned to look at the other girl with an endearing look.
“It’s such a shame, Nam. I thought that we were going to work with each other as a GM here.” Waree forced out a dry smile at his words before she shook her head slightly.
“I’m sorry, Da. I...”
“It’s okay. I understand.” The gentle voice replied. “If it were me, I would join them, too. Unfortunately, I have a lot of work to do. If not, I’d like to go on adventures with you guys. I think it’s gonna be so much fun that everything else doesn’t even matter.”
“It sure will.”
Both caught eyes knowingly before Thada was the first to turn away and smile at Maysa for another time.
“Let me farm with your party sometimes, Miss Maysa.”
“Sorry, the party is already full!” Maysa cut him off so decisively, making the one who got rejected so quickly laugh.
“Oh, another thing.” He smiled at her. “Next time, if you try to fool people again, don’t use the fire dragon Laven. Because there’s not a quest to hunt the dragon in the game right now. You better come up with the wind dragon Silvia, it’d make more sense. Also, your skirt is way too short, so be more careful when you move around since there’re a lot of minors in the game. And I think white does not really suit you. I prefer pink more though.”
After his last statement was dropped, her pretty face got reddened to the ears. This guy had found out that the dragon was made of a balloon? About the short skirt could be tolerable, but the thing that made her mad was the white color this guy talked about!
It was the only piece of clothing she was wearing that was white. So, when her shirt was black, the same as the skirt, and her tie was purple, the only thing left was...
“You jerk! So rude! Where were you looking at, you pervert GM! I’m going to send a court writ to your desk, just wait!”
