Chapter 713: The Start of The Meeting Part VIII

Chapter 713: The Start of The Meeting Part VIII

“I want to know if this organization would become only a page in the world’s history. Ah, no, there’s no history with you guys in it. That means you’re going to be gone with the wind. I’m looking forward to seeing Lucius destroy everything.”

“Don’t do anything stupid, Vincent.”

Payu was stressed. Wisana laughed loudly.

“You can only say that, Payu?” He laughed even louder. “What’s stupid for you? Maybe death is the best way for me. Do you know what I’ve been through?”

He took a deep breath and slowly walked towards Payu.

“I was built from a genetic modification and was placed a burden on even before I was born. I have everything that normal people don’t. My mom trained me to do so much shit I didn’t understand. Hey, you know what’s the best part? Everyone suddenly turns into a stranger. Even my girlfriend is someone I don’t know anymore. Can you tell me what’s worse?”

Wisana finally reached Payu. They were only inches apart. They looked each other in the eye as if they were reading minds.

“Tell me what I should do next: living in this hell hole or dying and stopping all this bullshit.”

“.....”

Payu did not say anything. No one dared to move. No one could read Wisana. Payu did not even express anything through his facial expression.

“Answer me, you bastard!!!!”

Wisana furiously shouted at Payu. He was clearly angry. Because of this man, he was born. And he was the man who drew a line in his life and destroyed it.

He wanted to blow his head off right now.

But it was too convenient...

What this prick had done to him, killing did not justify it!!

“No answer? Then, I’ll decide for you.”

Wisana said indifferently. His finger in the trigger started to move. He was ready to shoot.

“Don’t do that!”

Even with Maysa’s voice, Wisana did not care. He still focused on the trigger. He stared at Payu. Eventually, he sighed softly.

“What a piece of trash~”

He murmured and lowered the gun down. A lot of people, especially Maysa, sighed with relief.

“My life is way more precious than trash like you. Do you really think I’ll kill myself for you? It’s too easy, bastards.” He grinned. “Remember this, Payu. If you want to kill me, do it now. Because when it’s time for me to pay you back, I won’t waste a single second to listen to your whining!”

Then, he walked away without saying anything more. Maysa tried to reach out to him when he walked past her, but Wisana leaned away as if he did not want to even touch her.

“Hey, Payu!” Wisana shouted. “Can I leave now? Your scents are getting me nauseated.”

Nothing came out of the old man’s mouth. Wisana scoffed.

In the end, he turned to the guard, who was hesitating about what to do. Wisana threw the gun at him and walked out of the room.

“I’m tired. Lead me to my room... NOW!”

The last word got the guard running after him.

As soon as he left, everyone in the room sighed with relief.

“So... So scary. Is that the power of the king?”

“...What kind of Signetic can pin someone in place like that?”

“Do you really think it’s okay? He doesn’t look like he wants to be one of us.”

“It looks like we have to make a big decision about the king again.”

“And what about him? We can’t just leave him.”

“I don’t f*cking know. This is so ridiculous.”

The members started to talk again after the intense atmosphere died down.

What Wisana left behind was not only fear that prompted every member to doubt his suitability as the king, but also so much emotional pain for three people.

Mavin was still holding onto his jaw, lowering his head.

Payu was still speechless. He sat on his chair while giving his temples massages.

And lastly, it was the girl with teary grey eyes. Maysa covered her mouth to not let anyone see her facial expression. The pain after betraying and hurting the man whom she loved with all her heart was too much to bear. Tears ran down her cheeks quietly.

There was only one man who expressed a different emotion.

The only man who was smiling so happily.

The smile that was showing that everything was according to his plan.

----------------

It had been a long time.

It was an endless nightmare.

It had been three days since the meeting. Wisana had never left the organization. No, he actually had not even left his room in the basement.

It had been three days that he realized that he was not ‘human’ anymore.

The young man was lying on the bed inside the luxurious room that was like that of a five-star hotel. The difference was that there were only a bed, a couch, and bookshelves with so many English encyclopedias and books about history.

Wisana spent most of his time on his bed. Even though people were bringing him meals, he only ate when he felt like it. Other than that, he would only lie on his bed and think about what he had been through...

He looked at his iPhone and saw that the battery was strangely full, even though it had been three days since he had not charged it. He looked at the phone signal and saw that this room blocked off everything, including the signal. He sighed softly.

“I wonder how Tun and Nuch are.”

He muttered, thinking about his best friends.

He was so relieved to know that they were not members of the organization.

“I wonder if Nam is one of them, too. Maybe? She’s Nittaya’s daughter anyway. She must know everything. Or maybe she’s been in it in the first place.”

Wisana closed his eyes before he put his arm on his head.

The ugly truth had been eating his heart. Even now, her image was still flashing in his mind. The girl whom he loved with all his heart...

Was everything all staged?

When she said she loved him, was that a lie?

The girl who had been covering his back. The girl who always pushed him to walk forward.

Was she no more?

Did she really befriend him because of her duty? Did she accept this job willingly? Had she been deceiving him? Was she forced to do it?

“What should I do next...?”

He murmured softly. He was not only confused but also extremely scared.

He had to be alone from now on? There would be no one covering his back and he had to fight fate alone?

What should I do...

“Mom...”

Desperation forced him to call the person whom he yearned for the most without even realizing it. He flipped to the side and hugged his knees.

-There’s a message for you.-

Suddenly, the voice came from his phone.

Wisana was slightly startled and looked at the phone. He wondered what it was. If he recalled correctly, that voice was the message notification alert that he recorded from Jinnie.

“A message?”

He muttered and stared at the screen to make sure that it was really from his phone.

The young man slowly touched the screen and opened the message.

****************************

Please lie down like this for another ten seconds and don’t look at the surveillance camera until the phone rings.

****************************

Wisana blinked several times before he recalled that there was a surveillance camera behind him to keep watch on him. He lay there still and slowly glanced back.

Ten seconds had passed.

And at that moment...

Pick up the phone~ Pick up the phone~

His phone really rang.

His amber eyes were opened widely in awe as the signal sign was still empty. No one should be able to contact him.

And who was calling him?

Then, Wisana turned to the surveillance camera. It was clear to him that it had already been shut down. He narrowed his eyes and looked at his phone. The name of the caller was ‘Unknown’.

Wisana hesitated...

He was not sure if the caller was a friend or a foe. His life right now was so confusing he could not even see the path in front of him!

He held on to his phone for seconds more. It seemed like the phone would never stop ringing.

In the end, he slid the touchscreen to pick it up...

“...Who’s that?”

He cautiously spoke. His eyes were fixed on the surveillance camera.

“I thought you’d never pick it up.”

Wisana halted.

“Who are you?”

He asked again. The voice was unfamiliar to him.

“Did you forget me?” The sweet voice said. “Well, I guess the last time that we met was months ago.”

“I asked who you are.”

His voice was not happy at all. The person who could penetrate through the signal-proof room like this must not be ordinary.

“I apologize for the late introduction, Mr. Vincent. I’m an AI who will be taking care of you after Viola and giving you suggestions regarding the connection between worlds. Please call me... Alice.”
