Chapter 563: A Different Path Part IV
Chapter 563: A Different Path Part IV
“We don’t have the items used to fix this ship anymore?”
Mek smiled awkwardly and shook his head.
“Completely empty, leader. The missiles and cannon balls that are readied in the firearms right now are our last lot. As for the laser guns, some of them are still usable. However, we shouldn’t use them much since Ae and I agreed that they seemed to malfunction after the last Over limit.”
“Yikes... This is crucial.”
Wisana moaned and scratched his head.
“Exactly,” Maysa said. “Normally, a ship as big as this one has to be maintained and filled with weapons after each fight. This ship hasn’t been under a proper maintenance service at all.”
She rubbed the back of the chair with a worried face.
“And what about when I left the ship that time?” Wisana asked, “Tun had his item-hunting team, right? They didn’t get anything good for the ship or weapons at all?”
“They’ve gotten some,” Warunya said. “But that area was at a low level. A higher-level item like a “mithril” was difficult to find. We only gathered power-up potions, magic crystals, and some crafting items.”
Wisana laughed awkwardly and turned to Maysa.
The captain of the ship seemed to be as weary.
“We have to pray that we won’t be attacked all the way to Aeneas,” Maysa said. “There’s some space in the town for us to go defensive and the monsters around there aren’t that bad. There’re also famous dungeons close to the town where we can hunt the monsters and search for more items.”
“And Aeneas is full of quality ore sellers,” Warunya said excitedly.
“And the black market.”
Hearing that, everyone turned to Mek, the navigator, immediately.
“W-why are you looking at me like that?”
“You still buy your stuff at the black market?” Maysa asked.
“It’s fine. Ae also buys his stuff from illegal traders.”
Hearing that, Maysa could only shake her head wearily. Illegal sellers and those in the black market were unregistered sellers in the Pride world. They tended to have a lot of stuff to offer in the black market. And most of them were rare items.
However, where they got hold of those mysterious rare items was still unknown. Some said they were cursed, and some said that the sellers stole from the players. Some even said that they used cheat programs.
To put it simply, they were flawed items. Buying from them meant that you supported “tax evasion” and “stolen goods”.
“What we have to do, we have to do.” Maysa interrupted. “If there’s anything we need in the black market, I’ll have to buy from them. But do it discreetly, okay? Otherwise, we would definitely be on the next front page.”
“Roger that.”
Mek said. Everybody knew that Mek and Manoch loved the black market since there were so many interesting goods for them to craft new items.
“Speaking of the front page, have you seen the news, captain?”
Aerin asked. Maysa turned to look at her.
“What news?” She asked back.
“This one. It’s so unbelievably fast.”
She pressed the button to enlarge the image on the main screen.
Maysa frowned tightly when she saw the news. The headline said, “New Genius of Nemesis Took Down Marcus”. The photo below was of Kongkiat hitting Marcus’s torso with his hand so hard that the man exploded.
“We’re definitely being watched,” Wisana said firmly.
“That means the footage of the fight has already been distributed all over Pride. But why?” Maysa said.
“To discredit the four gods?” Warunya said. “I’d be one of those people who wonder if the four gods are as good as they appear to be when one of them just lost to a kid.”
“Possible.” Maysa nodded. “But this also promotes our guild. People would be negative towards Marcus, but the opposite towards us for sure.”
“Or both.”
Wisana said. Everyone turned to him.
“What do you mean?” Maysa asked.
“It’s true that more will praise us, but not only Marcus is crazy enough to constantly look for a fight with a good player, right?”
True...
Maysa thought. And one of those people was the man in front of her. She smiled a little but did not say anything. Wisana only raised his eyebrows in confusion.
“We don’t know for sure just yet how they’re going to come at us, but we have to be careful,” Maysa said. “They bite everything that moves like a mad dog.”
“Yeah.”
Wisana said before sitting on the captain’s seat.
“We’re in the desert territory now. You don’t want to change? Doesn’t it feel hot in a uniform?”
Wisana pointed at what Maysa was wearing. There were three layers of clothes: the jacket, the shirt, and the tank top.
“It’s hot. So hot I want to die. If there’s no aircon here, I’d have grown into a waterfall.” She fanned herself.
The man smiled at her and quickly opened up his item box.
“Then, wear this!” he said cheerfully.
Maysa was startled. What Wisana was holding was something so unexpected for her.
She remembered that he bought these clothes from a random seller in the desert. He even got Manoch to upgrade it to be ready in battle as if he was so confident that she would wear them. There were only a “black bikini”, a pair of “super short shorts”, “boots”, and “knee-length socks”.
It sure looked like it would be less hot in it.
But she felt like she might as well not wear anything.
“You still keep those?!” Maysa screamed. “I told you I won’t wear it even if I die! Throw them away!”
“Why?!” Wisana asked. “It’s comfortable! I tried it once when I had to disguise myself as a girl. And it was weightless.”
“Not in this lifetime.”
Maysa’s face flushed red. Everyone laughed.
“What are those? They aren’t clothes! If you want to be so comfortable, why don’t you use a leaf to cover that part of yours?”
“Huh? You like it like that?!” Wisana seemed surprised.
“I’m being sarcastic!”
The more they argued, the more entertained people were.
“Aww May, only a little,” Wisana begged. “Do you know how much I had to pay for this? The bikini’s defensive point is upgraded with fifteen kilograms of mithril ore, and I also increased its defense against all elements, too. Your chest will love it. It won’t tear apart to protect you from turning on your siren.”
“What do you mean turning on my siren?” Maysa frowned.
“Boobies exposed.” Wisana winked at her. “Don’t worry, I won’t let anyone see it because I’ll only keep them to myself.”
Maysa’s face was even redder now, while the others tried so hard to hold the laughter in.
“You moron!!”
Either it was embarrassment or anger, Maysa threw herself at Wisana with all her might that they fell on the floor.
“You only have these things in your head? Hmph! My siren? Don’t you worry because if I wore these, it won’t make a difference to being naked!”
“But it really is good. It can withstand fifty percent of an elemental attack. I also added a hundred and fifty points for a long-range attack, thirty percent health points, and two hundred defensive points.”
Maysa halted.
“Wait, why are there so many options for only a single bikini?” She frowned.
“Of course, it costs me five million... oops!”
Wisana quickly covered his mouth. He had said something he should not have.
Once she heard the word ‘five million’, Maysa immediately emitted her killing intent.
“You spent five million only on this tiny bikini?”
“No, no! It was a figure of speech. I meant I spent a lot of time looking for it, that’s all!”
“TOO LATE!”
Maysa put her hands on his waist and started tickling him so hard that he laughed so loudly and pathetically. Everyone seemed to be used to the sight of ‘the evil tickles’.
“P-please, May. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Don’t forget about our baby in your womb...” He tried to hold his laughter in.
“Not funny, you moron!”
