Chapter 550: A Challenge from Bloody Iron Beast Part I
Chapter 550: A Challenge from Bloody Iron Beast Part I
“I see. My guildmates are giving you headaches, huh?”
Sven said with a calm face. He looked different today with glasses on and no one knew where he got them from. He also had a yellow bandana wrapped around his head to keep his hair up.
Then, he grabbed an egg sandwich from the table and bit into it.
“You don’t look surprised.”
Wisana said calmly. He grabbed another sandwich from Sven’s plate and sat on a chair in front of him.
“That’s my lunch.” Sven did not turn to look at his face.
“Thanks for the treat.”
Wisana did not care and started to eat. Seeing that, Sven let out a scoff and smiled. He adjusted his glasses and continued to stare at the information.
“And what’s that attitude? Are you not surprised at all that your whole mates are coming here?”
“Do I have to be?” Sven asked mischievously. “If they start thinking more and balancing their right and left brain, that’s when I’ll be a little surprised.”
Seeing the calm attitude, Wisana could only make a ‘tsk’ sound.
“And now that this happens, what will you do next?” He asked in an angry tone.
“Me?” Sven raised his eyebrows. “Are you asking the wrong person? What can I do? Isn’t it you who has to decide about that?”
This prick!
Wisana swore internally. He knew that this man had a foul mouth, and he should have gotten used to it since Shindanai was the same. But how come this guy made it even more irritating!?
“I’ve already foreseen this. Those crazies would definitely come for me.” Sven shrugged.
“Huh?” Wisana was surprised. “You knew?”
“Of course, I’m that clever.” He smiled so mischievously that Wisana got goosebumps. “It should be more or less than three days. They should be arriving here tomorrow, right?”
Hearing that, Wisana was in awe. He had never told him when the Cataral army left Dores and when they would possibly reach here. His calculation was pretty accurate. The intelligence unit just reported that the army was close and should arrive here tomorrow afternoon.
This man was clever.
“And I’ve also predicted another two situations,” Sven said and looked at Wisana for the first time today. “One, you want to escape and you’ll choose to go south since it was the least risky path. You’re waiting for better weather to be able to use the concealing system. Two, you’ll release me back to my people, so that they stop chasing you. The weather was nice this morning and you’re still here, that means you’re going with the second option, right?”
Hearing that, a drop of sweat appeared on Wisana’s handsome face.
Was he a fortune teller or something? He got it right in every way!
“I’m sorry, but we chose the third one.” Wisana smiled widely. Sven raised his eyebrows a little. “We’ll do both, escaping down south and releasing you back to your beloved people. The thing is the good weather this morning was a false alarm. There’ll be a big storm coming later. If we went out, we were definitely going to be stuck in the middle of the ocean. It’d be bad if the concealing system broke then.”
Sven glanced outside the only small window in the room, seeing some drops of rain on it.
“I see. It seems I forgot to watch the weather. That’s how I miscalculated it.”
“How’s that miscalculation?” Wisana muttered to himself.
“However, I do think it’s clever of you to think about going south,” Sven said. “The monsters there are pretty tough and the area isn’t good for accommodation. Unless you have a mobile house like this one.”
“Calling our ship a mobile house, that’s pretty rude.” The owner of the house said.
“Then, what now? You’re about to kick me out of this ship?”
Sven glanced back at Wisana. Wisana let out a short sigh.
“You think I’m that merciless?” He said. “I just want you to know that you can leave when we’re ready to make an escape. For now, you’re still stuck here with us.”
Then, he pointed at the ball above that was holding Sven’s power.
Sven looked at it and let out a scoff.
“I thought so.” He smiled mildly. “I must be very lucky to have such a kind abductor who lets me take this shelter from the rain here. It looked like we should discuss more about business after the war. Cataral’s also interested in having such a ship, too.”
“That depends on your conditions and how much they appeal to the leader of my technician unit. Most importantly, I think you’ll have to make a bid with the Bunny Burner since it seems like Valentine is also interested in our technology as well.”
Wisana beamed at him.
“Don’t worry. My guild’s rich.”
Sven shrugged. Wisana shook his head a little before getting up and walking towards the door.
“I’ll tell you when it’s time. Just continue with your work for now.”
Sven nodded. He arranged the information and put it in one file before making it into a small disk.
He threw the disk at Wisana.
“What’s this?” Wisana grabbed the disk and looked at it.
“All the information in conclusion for you. Give it to Maysa and let her analyze it. It should be of use.”
“Understood. Thanks.” Wisana smiled and raised the disk up as thanks.
Then, Sven took off his glasses and bandana. He was back to his usual calm self again. Wisana chuckled softly with his attitude. Only a few people would be able to see one of the four gods in this state.
A second after that, the door was opened once again when Wisana was about to leave. Somebody was at the door in front of him. She was a familiar face with a puzzled look.
“Nuch?” Wisana called out her name.
Sven, who was about to lie down on his bed, stopped short and turned to look at the door.
“What is it?”
Wisana asked. However, Nuchjaree did not even look at him. She was looking at the tall figure who sat there inside the room. Their eyes met and it was Sven who smiled at her first.
“Nuchjaree, the leader of the intelligence unit, is here for me? Do you miss me?”
Sven spoke so naturally that Wisana let out a laugh.
“You don’t know when to behave, do you? Don’t you know how bad this girl can be? Even the boys at the university can’t handle her.” Wisana said while patting her head.
“I can see that.” Sven smiled. “What is it, lady? Or you heard about me leaving and just want to say goodbye?”
“I...”
Nuchjaree went quiet. She gritted her teeth while avoiding Sven’s gaze. The boys raised their eyebrows in confusion. Wisana pulled his hand back.
“What happened, Nuch?” He asked.
“Nuchjaree?” Sven narrowed his eyes.
The girl glanced up at Sven again. This time, they could actually see the worried look in her eyes. She wanted to say something, but she could not let out any noise.
“..I...umm...” She shut her eyes so tightly. “Nothing! Excuse me!”
She ran off without saying anything else. Wisana was about to call her, but it was too late since she was already gone from his sight. He looked at Sven and saw a worried look on his face that he had never seen before.
The middle man could only do so much. His brain, an expert on people and society, analyzed the situation so quickly with the little information that he had and concluded...
“Woah... I smell drama.”
