Chapter 54: Guidance Part II

Chapter 54: Guidance Part II

“Back then?” Sander raised his eyebrows, rubbing his chin while he was thinking. “There was nothing much, really. I’d assign them to find a Solomon’s scepter in the Pharaoh’s dungeon, or to kill some desert plants around here, or send them to deliver a quest in the ancestor cemetery dungeon, something like that.”

After his words, Maysa and Manoch were speechless.

But for someone who had zero knowledge of the game like Wisana, had no idea why they both went silent like this.

Well, how could the two not be shocked? The scepter he mentioned in the first quest was an item that was dropped from Anubis, the tough local monster with the level up to 48. Also, the item’s drop rate was just 0.2% per monster.

The second one he talked about killing the level 24 desert plants. It sounded so easy, but the plant monsters were likely to stick in a group with more than 50 plant monsters together. If someone tried to attack one of them, the others would definitely gang up on that player!

The last one sounded to be the easiest with just delivering a quest to the ancestor cemetery dungeon. Except, the cemetery was in the middle of the desert, surrounded by monsters with levels higher than 50 there. And the players taking their first-class quests were on level 15 on something. So, who on earth would be able to complete these kinds of quests!!!

If this Sander guy was not just cruel, then he was the most insane!!

Did he ever consider anything at all when he was devising these quests?

“Er... Mister Sander, didn’t you think that they were ...er a bit too difficult, the quests?” Maysa carefully asked.

“Yeah, I actually did,” He spoke weakly. “In the first three months, there was a lot of feedback that my quests were too hard. So, I adjusted them to be more possible to do, and the quests turned out to be digging up a gemstone like you guys just did a while ago.”

The three nodded in understanding.

Well, at least this master still listened and learned to adjust to the feedback.

“But I also added the second quest like I told you, find the gemstone and fight one on one with me. If they can stand for more than three minutes, I’ll let them pass. But somehow most of them were down with just one punch, like damn, what a noob.”

They took that back. This guy did not listen and learn crap!

Okay, he really adjusted the quests to be easier. But why would he make them fight with him when he was savage like hell, not different from those monsters he sent the players to be slaughtered!!!

“So, in the first year, there were only three players that passed.”

Sander said as he sighed.

His complaint was that Maysa gave a salty smile at it. She turned away and muttered.

“Three players were a miracle enough.”

“What’d you say, kid?”

Sander asked her who immediately faked the bright innocent eyes to smile sweetly at him.

“I said, ‘That’s too bad. I wish there had been three thousand players who passed.’”

“Absolutely! If they worked hard enough, they would totally pass the quests! They really didn’t have patience. Just a tiny inconvenience, and they gave up. Kids these days!”

Having a supporter, the uncle threw out a big combo of complaints.

“That’s so true.” Maysa faked a laugh ‘Ho ho’.

The problem is you! Boomer!!

Sander did not doubt Maysa’s fake action just a tiny bit. Unlike the guys who knew her so well that their faces twitched as if they could hear her thoughts.

“Well, uncle Sander, I wonder,” Manoch asked.

“Yeah?”

“Isn’t that the association of classes will shut down the office with fewer members every year? I heard that if there were fewer than 50 players passing the class quest in one year, the class would be closed right away.”

“And how am I still running this shabby office until today, right?”

Sander completed his sentence. The glasses merchant nodded.

“Because each of those 8 players who passed the quests is among the most famous players in the game now.”

The proud answer made the three tilt their heads in curiosity.

“Famous players?”

“Yeah, for example, the bloody iron beast, Marcus. I’m sure you’re most familiar with this name, right?”

“Marcus?!”

Manoch and Maysa repeated the name out at the same time. Wisana just raised his eyebrows in confusion.

“Marcus who?” He whispered to the little one next to him.

“Later, dude,” she cut him off. “You mean that Marcus, one of the four gods of Pride?”

“Yup. That beast is one of those who could complete the quests here.”

“That’s awesome,” Manoch said. “That’s why the association can’t shut down this place, because it’ll be a problem, if the gods are classless.”

Sander laughed at the conclusions.

“That’s true. And you know what? The funny thing is that the guy used the same crazy method to find the gem, just like you did. He used a punching skill to blow up the sand to find the item, only the difference was that he already knew about the Juzsworm’s nest there.”

Wisana licked his lips before he glanced at Manoch with the look that implied, ‘There can’t be just one crazy dude like this in the world, huh.’ But in this Marcus guy’s case, he was such a maniacal jock, punching to crack open the ground. And he did it, knowing so well that those hell worms were going to come out!

“So, he saw those Juzsworms, too, didn’t he?” Manoch asked.

“Exactly.” Sander laughed out loud. “There were many Juzsworms coming out, 20 I guess.”

Hearing that, the three made a sound like, ‘Whoaaa’.

“A... and how did he survive them?” Maysa asked.

“Survive them? Are you kidding? The question should be, ‘did the Juzsworms were all killed?’, or ‘was there anyone of them survived him?’, instead.”

“Huh?!” the three yelled in unison.

“You heard me. Marcus killed the whole nest by himself, and he was only level 30 at that time.”

Everyone was speechless by these facts. Even Wisana widened his eyes. He had never thought that there would be someone so fearless like a beast like this. They ran like hell from just four of the worms. But that Marcus guy did not run and could defeat 20 of those hellworms!

Knowing this, Wisana started to get a bit withered.

It was true that Wisana did not feel that he was that good. But then he took Lord Inferno down, encouraging him that he got some skill, too.

However, listening to Marcus’s story, he felt like he got smaller and smaller somehow.

“Don’t get discouraged, Wisana. Don’t compare yourself to Marcus. You’re not the same type as him.”

“Yeah?”

“Marcus was incredibly good for killing 20 Juzsworms by himself. However, the first player that had a lower level than the centipedes and managed to escape from their hunt without a scratch, was you.”

The plain explanation made the listener gasp, speechless.

The pair of golden-brown eyes glanced at the other two and saw they nodded in agreement in return. He somehow started to get embarrassed, so he just scratched his cheek.

“But I didn’t escape by myself, to be honest, I didn’t do much. You saw it. It was them who did the job.”

The young man said, pointing his chin to his friends.

“No.” Sander shook his head. “You’re the heart, Wisana.”
