Chapter 486: The Change of War Part IV

Chapter 486: The Change of War Part IV

“W ...who did you fight against?”

Nuchjaree asked, placing her hand on her chest. It was not sure if she did it to keep the scarf in place or her heart.

“You know them well because you were on the same side with them before.”

“Miss Valentine? You’re freaking out because you lost to one of the four gods?”

Sven sighed in response to her question.

“If it was Valentine, then I would have just told my guild to retreat, regroup, and make another attack plan, no need to be this shocked.”

“Then who?”

“The William Star.”

Nuchjaree was stunned for a moment. Her rust-colored eyes looked back at the one behind her with a sour face as if she was asking, “You kidding?” to which Sven sighed wearily.

“You heard it right. It was the William Star guild of William.”

“Are you serious?!!!”

Nuchjaree shouted so loudly that Sven had to turn his face away. Her loud voice would definitely make him go to the doctor someday.

“How the hell you lost to those people? This can’t be right. That sucker William shouldn’t have anything to fight against your guild, should he? Their force’s full of average players. Even their best one isn’t a match for me. And if you’re going to say that you lost at strategy, that can’t be it either, since you’re known for being the “Zhuge Liang of Pride.” Could it be that the guy played dirty again? But you shouldn’t have missed that so easily...”

She turned to him with a weird-looking expression. Not really that it looked like she was disappointed. But she looked confused as if her favorite soccer team made a dumb mistake and it lost just like that.

Sven almost cracked into an amused laugh, but he changed to a cough so smoothly that Nuchjaree did not notice it. At first, he was restless after Bhira told him that the force he sent to take over the crystal that William Star guild owned, was completely defeated.

Yeah, at first, he was sure there would not be a problem. Even though The Pandora of Lavi was targeting this crystal as well, his guild was still more favorable with their location. It was easier for his force to move from Dores to Tristan, which was where the enemies were hiding. But he never thought that the other would ridiculously screw his guild up like this!

However, he kind of calmed down now after listening to Nuchjaree who would not stop complimenting him and the Cataral guild. Seeing her being serious with what she said like this, was probably why he started to feel that he still had everything under control!

“...Well, like I said, I don’t see how you guys got beaten up like that.”

Nuchjaree spoke the last sentence as she shook Sven’s arm as if that would force him to answer her. She was like one of the kids who saw their hero lost and asked their mom if the hero would come back again.

“That’s what I want to know, too, Nuchjaree,” Sven said smilingly. “How did we get beaten up like this? Because from what my guys said, they seemed to have some top-tier players to help them fight in the battle. There were three of them, and these few players could eliminate my entire army.”

Nuchjaree went silent for a moment. She reached her hand up to her lips as she considered this.

“If the players are good enough to crush your force that easily, it means that the three players are on the same levels as Wisana, or the four gods, right?”

Sven did not answer her right away. His eyes were looking at the road ahead of them, which was covered in white snow and surrounded by valleys and tall mountains.

“I just hope it’s not like what you assumed, Nuchjaree.”

He said, then sighed. And hearing that, Nuchjaree could not find words to speak.

“So, we’re heading to your beaten-up force right now?”

“Not exactly,” Sven said briefly. “I told them to regroup in the fortress town for now and wait for another force to join them there. But right now, I want to go see those players that destroyed my force with my own eyes.”

“You’re invading the enemies’ base?!” Nuchjaree yelled in shock.

“Just snooping around, I’m not going to do anything stupid.”

Hearing that, Nuchjaree let out a sigh of relief. She did not know why, but she was glad that this guy was still sensible enough to not do something risky. If this was Wisana or Tunwa, they would have blindly broken into their base already.

Shortly after that, she curled up a playful smile. Those rust-colored eyes were glittering with mischievousness for the first time in a while.

Then she took the reins to control the bird from Sven’s hand right away, making the man pause. His mouth parted open like he was about to protest, but that was already too late.

“What are you doing, Nuchjaree?!”

“Come on, you’re going to snoop on the enemies, aren’t you? So just trust me, Nemesis’s intelligence unit chief. I’m taking you on a shortcut, Sven.”

She said, before yanking the reins back harshly, making the bird shriek with a high-pitched sound. It scrabbled its feet up high, almost knocking Sven, who was riding in the back, off to the ground below.

“You know how to ride this bird, Nuchjaree?!” Sven yelled.

And with that question, Nuchjaree laughed out loud, because this was the first time she ever heard this guy make this kind of voice, this guy probably was not fond of any roller coaster.

It would be hilarious taking this man to an amusement park!

“Don’t worry. Theoretically, it’s probably like riding a horse.”

She said with delighted laughter in the way that Sven had just heard it, too.

“Hold on tight, if you don’t want to fall off, little brother!”

“Huh...?”

The listener barely believed his own ears. This girl was allowing him to hold on to her, now? Sven thought, arching his brows slightly like he could not make head or tail out of this, and then, he chuckled, deciding to put his hands around her thin waist as she said obediently.

He would not ask why she was interested in helping him all of a sudden.

Because it was...

Not so bad like this.

“But for the record, be careful where you touch. If you make it weird, you’re dead!”

“I really don’t want to touch you that much, chopping block woman.”

“Huh, you’re not that hot either. What a jerk!”

On the top of a mountain in the vision range, a big blue bird quickly paced its heavy feet through the snow on the ground. A woman stood there in a deep brown coat. Her tan skin looked strange for an Asian. Her pink lips curled into a slight smile like she was satisfied.

“You’ve finally made a move now, huh, leader Sven.” She said in a mischievous voice. “And you’re bringing such great bait for us like this, I really have to thank you later.”

She spoke, before sighing out a mass of white smoke. Those eyes behind the hood were staring at Sven and Nuchjaree riding on the bird. And as quick as a blink, the tanned girl in the coat disappeared from the mountain without any traces.
