Chapter 473: The Forbidden Weapon, “Dark Longinus” Part I

BOOM!!

The explosion sound went off somewhere in the northern part of Pride. A satisfied smile crossed the clear face of this 20-year-old woman because this was the first time in the past three weeks that she could finally breathe outside of her room.

Those rust-colored eyes were staring at a monster that looked like a polar bear lying still on the ground with a mass of smoke spreading up from it, proofing that it was completely dead.

“That wasn’t bad, Nuchjaree. No wonder Vincent assigned you to be a unit chief like this.”

And that was followed by the gentle voice that rang up behind her.

Her rust-colored eyes looked back at the speaker with irritation. It was not that she was irritated by his sarcastic compliment, but it was his carefree manner that made her unable to read what was going on in his mind.

“Seems like you’re having a good time, Mister Sven.”

The owner of the hoarse voice spoke annoyingly, making the other raise his eyebrows.

“Yeah, why would I not be?” He asked.

“Huh!” Nuchjaree snorted. “You handed weapons to me and allowed me to go outside, saying you would take the prisoner for a walk to kill some bore. Is it really normal?”

“Why not?”

The owner of those sharp eyes asked with just as much annoying face.

“You don’t think that I might use the weapon I got to attack you?”

After hearing the question. Sven was silent for a moment. He was looking at the other consideringly, before cracking into a soft laugh. He reached up to cover his mouth, acting like he did not want to be rude to her.

“What’s so funny? You’re alone with a prisoner of war, you know. I might kill you and run back to my friends right now.”

“That’s right. You might.”

Sven said in a gentle voice. A smile that rarely showed spread across his face, making the dashing girl quiet down right away.

“But you won’t do something stupid like that. I’m sure.” He looked up into her eyes after speaking. “A smart girl like you probably knows how different our levels are. If I take it seriously, you’ll be down in a few seconds.”

He said and curled up a soft smile like someone who had the upper hand.

The more she looked at him, the more she got frustrated. But she could only mutter under her breath because she had to admit that she was still way far behind this Sven guy in mouth skill.

And the most frustrating thing was the unbothered manner of this man!

Earlier, this guy tossed her some new clothes and weapons, before briefly saying, “Let’s go take a walk,” and that was all. She did not expect this guy to take her this far to the spot that was plentiful of monsters like this. Then she understood why he gave her weapons, too. This guy proposedly took her out to have fun hunting some monsters.

Okay, she also had to admit that this was very effective for killing boring time.

Because, recently, she could only sit and sleep in the tower, or get beaten up in chess by Sven to pass the time day after day.

“Are we done here yet?”

Nuchjaree asked because he and she were extremely far from Dores already. Plus, it had been four hours since she fought monsters along the way. So, her energy was clearly decreasing right now.

“You want to go back to your room already?” Sven asked.

“I’d rather get back to my friends if possible.”

And the girl would not give up on nagging him that easily. Sven acted like he did not mind her words and decided to walk up to her side after he had been tailing after her the whole time.

“If you’re already tired, then you shouldn’t fight anything anymore, Nuchjaree.” He said briefly, making the listener raise her eyebrows. “Because we’re not going back to Dores. I’m taking you to Hown.”

“Huh?”

Nuchjaree made a sound out of her throat curiously. She looked at the one walking next to her with a strange look in her eyes.

“Why are you taking me to Hown?” She asked.

“Because I have some business there. Everyone in my guild is busy with finding the last crystal.

“So, you’re just dragging me along?!” Nuchjaree yelled.

“Yeah.”

After hearing the answer, she turned her face away with a snorting sound coming out of her throat.

“I think you’ve lost your mind to treat me like I’m one of your guild members. Let me ask you something, are you crazy or dumb? Why do I have to go with you?”

“No reason. I just want you there with me. That’s all.”

“Just want me there?” Nuchjaree repeated in a high-pitched voice. “I got it. You’re not crazy or dumb. You’re just weird. Like, I’m your prisoner alright? Then treat me like one, will you?”

“You’re a masochist or something?”

After the straightforward question, Nuchjaree froze.

“So, you’d rather get chained up, eat pig food, not be allowed to see even the sunlight, and get beaten up occasionally for their fun? You want something like that instead?”

“Try! I’ll definitely report you to the Pride staff!”

The dashing girl yelled, sounding like she was ready to fight. And seeing that, Sven curled up a grin right away.

“Right. That’s why we’re already good this way. What else do you want?”

“W ...well!”

Nuchjaree held up her index finger with her words pausing mid-sentence...

Well, he treated her so well that it was getting awkward now...

She could not read what exactly he was planning to do, but Sven had been treating her so well that she started feeling strange about it. She did not know where to put herself because it would be a lot easier if he treated her like an enemy. But instead, this guy took care of her like she was wrapped in cotton wool.

What kind of a supreme guild leader handled a prisoner from the enemy side this well?!

“Well what?” Sven asked with a soft smile.

“...F ...forget it!”

She stressed her voice at him, before stomping away just like that. Sven chuckled at that as he paced closely behind her.

“I’ll make some business deals with the lord of Hown.” Suddenly, Sven spoke up like he was talking about the weather. “The town has some high-quality Mithril mines, so I want to trade with them. And then I will send my item developers in to mine the best mineral out and build some good items for the guild.”

“Just stop it already!!”

Nuchjaree shouted aloud. The slender girl finally stopped walking and her snap made Sven stop his feet as well. His eyes glanced at the girl before him patiently.

“Stop doing unnecessary things. I don’t know what you’re thinking, but I’m your enemy, Sven. Do you think it’s a clever idea to tell me about your plans like this? What if I share it with my friends when I’m offline? It’s not like I’m locked up in here all the time, right? And the more you are acting nice to me, the more I’m getting frustrated. So, please just stop messing with me!”

She sighed stressfully after speaking.

Yes, she was very confused about this guy’s actions right now.

She wanted him to stop treating her this way already if possible.

“Don’t tell me you’ve started liking me already.”

And it was his words that made Nuchjaree freeze. Her sweet face slowly turned to look at the man behind her with widened eyes and the sound of confusion she made in her throat.

“Come again?” She spoke.

“Don’t tell me that you’ve started liking me.”
