Chapter 460: Quid Pro Quo Part IV

Chapter 460: Quid Pro Quo Part IV

“...You,” Jeng whispered.

“Personally, those who fight to protect something will have this special strength with them, so they won’t be defeated that easily. The proof is this hotel. You guys have been fighting for it, even though you don’t have fighting skills at all. The hotel still lasts until today. That is the achievement of your effort that you guys should be proud of. And I believe that Grandpa is very proud of you and everyone in the town.”

Wisana winked after speaking, holding his index finger up.

“My mom always told me since I was a kid that no matter how hopeless you feel or how many hard times you face, do not look down hopelessly. Tilt your chin up, look right into the sky, and keep trying. As long as you’re alive, there’ll always be a way, because there is always a solution to every problem.”

Wisana said, reaching up to smack his own chest softly.

“And you guys’ solution is right here, sitting with you.”

Listening to that, Jeng chuckled, shaking his head amusedly.

“I don’t know why, but you feel more like a trouble to me.” Jeng laughed.

“Huh! You’re the one to talk. Yesterday, I saw your jaw dropping to your feet when you saw my skills.”

The listener grinned, making a snorting sound in his throat.

“That was because I was shocked to see that you were flashing your underwear shamelessly to everyone.”

Wisana burst into laughter, then pointed at the one with fast eyes right away.

“You have such low sight to stare at something like that, but instantly ran out of the room a while ago. What an innocent child.”

“Just stop talking about this already!!”

The one who got teased yelled aloud. His face started blushing again, making Wisana laugh amusedly.

Jeng curled up a little smile with the laughter of the pretty woman in front of him. He had never seen anyone smiling this brightly before. This woman was incredibly supportive. She never said anything that made him feel bad, and some of her words even cheered him up a lot.

After thinking about that, Jeng’s smile turned wry as he reached up to scratch the nape of his neck nervously.

“...Well,” Jeng started quietly.

“Yeah?”

“I’ve wanted to tell you this since last night.” He said, pretending to look away. “I’m so...”

BOOM!!!

Jeng did not finish his sentence, because there was a sound of disaster coming up with a vibration that made the two stunned. This felt like something had just crashed into the hotel and almost broken the building down.

Wisana turned to catch eyes with the one next to him who did not know what expression he should put on yet.

“What’s going on?” Jeng asked.

“No clues. It’s like something just hit the hotel building.”

Then Wisana widened his eyes after he realized that the impact occurred on the second floor, and the spot that got hit was exactly his room!

“Damn it!!” He shouted resoundingly and rushed out right away.

“Wait, where are you going?!”

Jeng shouted as he started running after him, but Wisana did not have time to answer that question.

He hastened past the hotel’s staff who came out to the corridor balcony after the vibration. Wisana hurriedly squeezed himself through them with anxiety on his face. His slender figure rushed up the stairs at a speed that looked like he jumped over all of them. And soon enough, he got to his room.

He saw the sliding door falling off its frame outside of the room. Plus, there were pieces of building remains scattered all over the corridor. His amber eyes widened right away.

“Jinnie! Mona Lisa!”

He called out the girls’ names with panic as he rushed into the room. And at his first glimpse, the wall was broken down completely like it got attacked by something. The room’s wrecked condition made his expression look panicked even more.

“Master...”

Suddenly, a familiar voice rang up softly from a corner of the room. Wisana quickly turned in that direction and saw his AI lying still on the floor over there.

“Jinnie!”

Wisana yelled panickily and ran to her right away. And from a quick glance, it seemed like his AI was seriously injured and that she could not even get up.

“S ...shit, what is going on here?”

Meanwhile, Jeng who just caught up with him gasped when he saw the room being blown up like this. It did not look different from being hit by a bomb at all.

“What attacked you?”

Wisana held the AI up. He saw that her body looked dusty and some parts of her had bruises like she was hit harshly with something solid.

“I’m sorry, Master. I couldn’t cast a spell in time, so Mona Lisa’s been taken.”

“Mo’s been captured?”

Wisana shouted in a high-pitched voice. He quickly glanced over his shoulder, and he did not see little Mo anywhere in the room at all. Plus, on the spot where she was sleeping earlier, there was a trace of something looking like a massive hand wiping his daughter away with it!

“What did this, Jinnie? What the hell attacked you two?”

“A ...a golem, Master.”

“Huh?” Wisana raised his eyebrows.

“A golem boss, Golden Trickster, sir.”

----------------

Silence was built up among the villagers of Vanilia who met up at the hotel’s lobby. They were staring at the pretty AI whose wounds from earlier looked a lot better now. Presumably, that was more because of her own recovering skills rather than a healing skill from Miki, the hotel’s NPC, the girl in Yukata who was now wrapping a bandage around Jinnie’s face with an unreadable expression.

“It invaded so fast. I didn’t have my enemy detection on, so I didn’t know it was coming.” Jinnie said with a stressed face. “It just broke down the wall all of a sudden, then I got knocked off balance by the pieces of it. And before I realized, it’d already got Mona Lisa,”

“Why didn’t Mo just hit it back? She shouldn’t have gotten captured this easily, right?”

“She got the sleeping dust,” Jinnie explained briefly. “Golden Trickster has various kinds of special attack skills that can numb its enemy or poison them to death in a minute. It’s an A-rank boss.”

Hearing that, Wisana ground his teeth tightly, frustrated with himself that he let his daughter get kidnapped so easily like this. After the thoughts, he smacked a table loudly, making everyone jump.

“Damn it.” Then he cursed quietly.

Jeng glanced at his grandfather who was sitting near him.

“This monster is the cause of the Sand Man attacks, isn’t it?”

Jeng was the one who asked. Jinnie turned to look at him and nodded in reply. She then opened an information window up, pushing it to the man to see.

“I had a presumption that it could possibly be the monster behind all this as well because every golem boss can summon Sand Men to be their minions. However, there’re approximately 30 kinds of golem bosses in Pride. And if we’re facing a Golden Trickster, it means that we’re facing the 5th strongest golem boss of all the golems in the game.”

After listening to that, everyone got completely silent.

According to what Jinnie said, there was no one in this village able to fight this golem monster. Moreover, the image on the information window in front of Jeng was a massive golem with a body made of solid rocks with sparkling gold covering some parts of it.

“Let’s forget about that for now, everyone.” Grandpa Khao said in a stressful voice. “This problem right now is the little girl who’s been kidnapped. We should prioritize how to save her from that monster first.”

The villagers turned their eyes to the chief of the village with uncomfortable expressions.

So, the grandpa turned to look at Wisana, who was frowning his brows and joining his hands together like he was deep in thought.

“Because we’re not going to drag any more people in this trouble.”
