Chapter 359: Front Liner Part IV
Chapter 359: Front Liner Part IV
“I’ve never seen myself as a skilled player for once either. So, I don’t think I can be counted on in a life-and-death situation. Maybe our guild will have to rely on Mister William for that since he has a higher level than me. I won’t be able to use my power of self-promotion to threaten the enemies in the war anyway, right?”
A few words from Wisana could lighten the mood in the blink of an eye, followed by slight laughter from the others. Meanwhile, William, who got a talk back in a casual tone but sounded a lot smarter, seemed to lose face a bit and remained silent after that. Valentine, who had been quiet for a while, turned to wink at Wisana as in, “Good job.”
“Don’t fall for that. We’ll lose if we take the bait.”
Wisana intentionally turned to whisper with the two to calm them down. And that was the first time Waree who was sitting near them acknowledged that her brother’s leadership was real. He might be a bit like a dork most of the time, but when in need, her brother always had something to sort out the situation. He was also smart in other people’s games. He did not fall for that kind of trap that easily.
And these characteristics of his made him a great leader. There was no wonder why the players from the guild and his friends loved him so much. After that, the meeting continued stressfully. The main issue was about the battle that would happen tomorrow between both sides to take the middle area for their army.
“Why do we need the middle area though?”
Wisana turned to whisper with Maysa who still was boiled up by the moment from earlier.
“Because the middle area has Tristan.” She replied briefly.
“And the capital is that important?”
“Very.” She nodded. “It’s the biggest city with many great strongholds. There’s also a large trading place that is suitable for making goods trading deals with those merchants who don’t take any side during the war. It has quality transportation, too, with the airport and harbor. Moreover, there’re many mineral mines in the area near the city that we must hurry in and mine it all out before the other side takes it.”
Wisana nodded in understanding. He just found out not very long ago that the natural resources would take 3 times longer than usual to grow back again during the war. Some good crystals would be slower and harder to find, as well as those herbs in the forest. That was why resource hoarding from the start was important.
And of course, those resources had to significantly gather in the middle area, huh?!
After thinking about that, he could understand now why this meeting was so serious about the plan to take over this area so much.
“We don’t have to take over the whole city.”
Valentine was the one who spoke up from another head of the table, looking thoughtful.
“We only need the mines in this area.”
After speaking, she drew her finger on the digital map on the table, making a red circle appear on the drawn area for everyone to see. It was an area that was not far from the capital.
“But it’s so close to the capital. I’m afraid that we will have to take those strongholds first, or else,”
A man, the leader of one of the ace guilds, spoke up with a tense face. Valentine only shook her head at him with a smile in reply.
“That won’t be a problem.” She spoke. “After the sound of battle drums comes up, every place on the map will be 5 times larger. It can be said that the scale of the actual places will be doubled to make the world suitable for the war event with larger places for battling. And when the distance in travelling is longer, that makes it harder for one army to move and attack another.”
“So, that means,” Maysa interrupted.
“Right. After the world’s scale gets bigger, the area that we need to take will be wider and further as well. That’s why I suggest that the first area we should take first is where the resources are, not in the capital.”
“I agree.” Another man said. “Because digging the resources out of an area only takes about 4 hours to sweep everything back to our base.”
“So, we should invade and take over those areas as fast as possible. After that, we build cannon turrets and district spells to defend us while we’re moving all the resources into our inventory. Then, we retreat to the base and we talk about what we should do with the capital later.”
After listening to her plan, everyone seemed to be more relieved. At least they had set their first goal now. They just had to come up with a plan on how they would accomplish the goal.
“After that war starts, those areas will move further away from the capital, and they will be quite isolated from the other places as well, right?”
Maysa asked.
“That’s right,” Valentine answered. “That’s why I’d like to suggest we build a base in the middle of those places. Next, we separate our force in each area as fast as we can. After the front liner can take one of those areas, the middle base will send a force in to support right away. I think this plan is the most practical one we have. And for the strategy for the front-line force, that will depend on how each one will plan it for themself, according to the situation in the battlefield they face at that moment.”
After speaking, the leader of the Bunny Burner guild glanced at her close assistant beside her. Then, the girl with short black hair and silver frame glasses named “Sangdao,” or “Dao,” Valentine’s right hand, opened her information window up and started typing something on it.
Then the map started changing slowly. The size of many places was expanded wide to be the mockup map of the world after the war started.
It was clear that the spot that Valentine had drawn a circle around was moved further away from the capital. The distance between the two areas could be more than 10 kilometers, even.
“Apart from a large mine in this area, there’s also one right here, ...here, ....and here, 4 spots in total. We’ll divide into four forces, and separate into each one of these areas, taking over it as fast as possible.”
“So first, we have to balance the players in each team to have enough damage, right, Miss Valentine?”
Wisana shared his opinion as well, and everyone else nodded in agreement.
“That’s what I’m thinking, too, Mister Vincent. I think I’ll be the one who leads one of our forces to the largest mine in this spot. With 200 players, I think I can do it.”
She said, pointing at the first area. Everyone else did not seem to have a problem with that, except for William who raised his hand in objection right away. Maysa and Tunwa smirked at his action as they made a snorting sound out of their throats.
“Yes, Mister William?” Valentine smiled at him.
“I think it will be too risky to have you in the frontline from the very beginning like that. The enemy probably knows that we will target those mine areas and have a large force waiting for you there. And if we lose you this soon, I’m afraid that our army will be damaged so badly by that.”
William’s words sounded quite reliable because they could not forget that the other side had some of the best advisers like Emwika and Sven as well.
"What would you suggest then? If what you said truly happens, the point that most of their force is going to take that mine will become true as well. So, if it is not me who should go fight against them, then who does?”
