Chapter 269: Our 4 Months Together Part VII
Chapter 269: Our 4 Months Together Part VII
“I work in the marketing department, Son. I have to know about all of the news from the game to update the sell contents for the game. The first time she walked into the room, I was surprised, because I thought she was a celebrity or something. But after I knew that she was your girlfriend, I was surprised even more. Didn’t you two say in that game that you weren’t dating?”
“Yeah, we did. ...Since the two of us are the ones who attract the others to join the guild. But if they find out that we’re dating, I’m not sure if they would still want to join our guild anymore. So, if they don’t know about this, at least they will see us as idols.”
Wisana tried to explain, scratching his cheek.
And it was Manoch’s plan to keep their relationship a secret from the public. He insisted that it would attract more players to join their guild this way, at least those crazy fans.
“That’s a smart plan, even though it’ll be a mess if you two get busted.” Santi smiled amusedly, then turned to Mawin. “So, you have no idea about this, right? Damn, how do you even work here, if you don’t catch up with what is going on in the game? Also, this is even about your favorite son.”
“Huh? Why wouldn’t I know about that? I always catch up with what is going on with my son.” The other one argued with a stiff voice.
“Well, you only care about things that your son’s involved in, but forget about anything else. Do you realize how famous they are? They’re stars of the game now. And only your son, but everyone in the Nemesis guild, including Maysa as well.” Sutep said.
Getting scolded by a gang like that, the bearded one could only click his tongue, before turning his face away just like that.
“Na’s been on Pride magazine covers often lately. And some of them have Maysa’s picture on them, too. Maybe you should try reading our company’s magazine sometimes, Mawin. In other words, could you please take your eyes off those women’s butts just once in a while? I’ll appreciate that so much.”
“Huh! Yeah, once there’s a bikini model on the cover, I’ll be the first to read it.”
After hearing annoying words from the company’s consultant, everyone let out a sigh of despair in unison. And Maysa could only let out a dry laugh, while she was realizing who her boyfriend got the annoying gene from.
“Anyway, Maysa.”
Sutep’s voice got her attention.
“Yes?”
“What were you thinking that you let yourself get involved with this cheeky guy like Na?”
“What? Uncle Tep, why did you ask something like that?” Wisana’s face got confused instantly.
“Well, ...seriously, I have a son, too. He’s just two years older than Na, and he’s a huge fan as well. Every magazine that has you on the cover, he will buy them all and hug them to sleep probably. If he meets you in person, he will be so happy, for sure. You should come by at my house to have dinner with us sometime.”
“Hey, Uncle, you had to do this, huh?!”
Hearing that, even Wisana got frustrated. And Maysa knew that the older one was just teasing her boyfriend, so she was having a hard time holding in her laughter right now.
“There, Tep, that’s not the right thing to say. May should come with me instead.” This time it was Mawin who cut in, while he was smiling at Maysa. “Think about it, May. What comfort or convenience could these nonsensical kids provide you? Unlike coming with me, you don’t have to work ever again in your life. I can give you everything you ever want. A house? Sure. A car? You got that after choosing the brand and model. I’ll even make a platinum credit card for you. How you like that?”
“No, thank you. I’d rather have a gun to shoot some dirty old man instead.”
Wisana faked a girl’s voice to cut his father off, making the one who got nagged make a resentful sound. And this intense match got another laugh from the observers, including Maysa who started to get used to how the people were now.
After that, the only young man here started to look around restlessly, thinking that he had to find a way out right now, or his girlfriend would be endlessly attacked for sure.
“Dad, why did you ask me to come up here anyway? Talk now. May and I have somewhere to be after.”
“What? You’re leaving already? But I still want to talk to May more.”
“You want to talk to Miss Nittaya instead? I’ll call her for you.”
The name of his beloved wife made Mawin stunned harshly. The pair of amber eyes glanced at his son for a moment, before he let out a long sigh.
“Yeah, okay, let’s get to the topic.” His voice did not sound like he was willing to as he walked to his desk and brought a small black box out and handed it to his son.
“What’s this?” Wisana asked.
“You will fly to Chiang Mai to visit your mother tomorrow, right? So, I’m asking you to bring this to her.”
Wisana took the box in his hand confusedly. But after he flipped it, he knew then it was a pen from a German famous brand, and probably the latest model that had just sold for just a while.
“What’s about it, Dad? Your love letters? You want to see her throwing it away or something?”
“No, it’s not, jerk.” Mawin snapped. “Your mother asked me to order it for her. And tell her to transfer the money to pay for this later as well. Don’t be slick. This thing isn’t cheap.”
Wisana chuckled, before handing that box to Maysa.
“Why are you such a stingy? You never be like this when it’s those sugar girls you’re paying for.”
“Huh! If your mother had a bomb body like theirs, I’d totally pay for this pen as well.”
“Really?!” Wisana yelled. “Okay, then, I’ll tell Mom you said that.”
Mawin bulged his eyes instantly. He hurriedly grabbed his son’s arm before Wisana could even stand up.
“Na, you want to become fatherless or what? Okay, forget I said that and tell Wimon that I brought it as her birthday gift. You’re happy now?!”
The outcome of it made everyone laugh.
Maysa had heard that Miss Wimon, Wisana’s mother, was a specialist in every kind of martial arts. So, she did not want to imagine how beaten-up Uncle Mawin was before he could officially divorce his ex-wife.
“That’s all, Dad?” Wisana asked again.
“Yeah, that’s all. Tell her happy birthday for me, too.”
The young man nodded, before poking Maysa to get up and follow him. They both pressed their hands together in goodbye to the men in the room again. Then Wisana ended their meeting by turning to give his dad an annoying smile.
“Say Hi to Wimon for us, too. Tell her I miss her, and I wish she has good health.”
“I will, Uncle Tep.”
“Have a safe flight, Na.”
“Thank you, Uncle Santi.”
“Oh, and don’t worry, May. Wimon’s going to love you as well. Trust my head on that. And importantly, she’s totally sane, unlike this goofy man.”
Hearing that, Maysa giggled, then nodded.
“Thank you, Mister Santi.”
Then the couple walked to the door. But they had not even left the room yet when Mawin spoke up again.
“Na, did you get enough sleep last night?”
Wisana could only raise his brows, confused, as he turned to look at his father.
“Yes, I went to bed at 9. Why’d you ask?”
“Did you have lunch today?”
“Haven’t had anything since the morning.”
Mawin nodded smilingly at his son’s words. Unlike the other one, he was not quite sure what his dad was trying to say.
“Take your friends to the 3rd floor. We’re having year’s health inspections there. So, I think you should check yourself in as well. It’s free. Tell them you’re my son.”
“Huh?” Wisana raised his eyebrows. “Why do I need that right now?”
“Well, it’s free. Why would you think too much about it? This kind of chance doesn’t come so often, you know. Go have them get some of your dirty blood off the system, so your system gets clearer.”
“No, I’m afraid that would get me passed out instead. I haven’t eaten anything all day. If I get venipuncture now, I might get dizzy later, and who would drive me home?”
“I will. I can’t get venipuncture today anyway. You should do it, Na.”
Maysa was the one who replied, making the dad curl up a soft smile right away.
“That’s my daughter-to-be. You totally can be counted on.”
The compliment made the listener blush a little, while Wisana was making a sour face.
Why would he suddenly have to get venipuncture though? Would the result turn out to be accurate, since he was not prepared for this at all? Because normally, if someone had to get venipuncture for a health inspection, they had to do that water fasting for at least 10 hours.
“Come on, just do it. Uncle’s insisting anyway. Just take it as a body check before going on the plane tomorrow, good?”
Maysa whispered to him softly. And Wisana had to nod grudgingly at that, before turning away and walking out of the room.
“Take care of him for me, May.”
Mawin shouted after them delightedly as the large door shut.
After the couple left, the facial expression of the consultant changed completely, from a playful face with a soft smile to a tense and serious one. His lips pressed together into a thin line. The tall man slowly sat back down, while he was looking at his friends without a word to say.
Santi adjusted his silver-framed glasses, before speaking up.
“Are you sure that you want to run his blood test now? It hasn’t even been two months yet, since he turned 20.”
“It’ll be fine. This body’s so ready. and we need to do it early, so we can observe him. That’s why his blood example is important.”
Hearing that, outsiders like Sutep and Santi were speechless. If the father had decided so sharply like this, then they did not have anything to argue with anymore.
“Don’t worry, buddies. There’ll be so much work for us to do from now on. Trust me.” Mawin said with a wry smile.
“That’s right. It has just begun anyway.”
