Chapter 262: The Crystal War Part II
Chapter 262: The Crystal War Part II
“Compared with your mother, you can’t even make me drop a sweat.”
One moment later, Lucius’s voice was heard again, before the tall man toweringly stood in front of him. Their eyes caught right after that.
“Now, do you agree to get the hell out of the Pride world, kid?”
Lucius spoke in an emotionless tone. And hearing that, Wisana snorted.
“You think that this will stop me, huh?!”
Wisana said strugglingly because the air being unable to get into his lungs started to be his big problem here. And another problem that was about to follow was that his consciousness was fading out.
“You’re stubborn just like your father, always acting stupid and having some delusions that those people are his family, then serving them like a dog. When will you understand? There are more than enough monsters like you and me in this world. So, quit now. Get out of Pride.”
“Y, you don’t have the right to say that.” Wisana disagreed with a laugh. “A douchebag like you who always has this kind of thought in the head doesn’t have the right to call me a monster. I ...I’m still a human. A human named Wisana!”
“Human?” Lucius repeated in high pitch. “...Human, huh? What you’ve done is way worse than my actions, kid. You don’t have the right to call yourself a human from the day you were born. But you still dare call yourself a human, still dare call them your family.”
The listener was stunned, speechless, or to be exact, he did not have the strength to say anything in reply anymore.
“Get up and look at the world with your own eyes, Vincent. This world is about to have a great movement. The place where you’re supposed to live isn’t the Pride but out there. That should be something that you protect, not this goddamn world.” Lucius finished speaking, before clenching his fists tightly and looking away. “The existence of the Pride System is too dangerous. The longer it exists, the more monsters like you and me are created. And I’m so disgusted with this kind of thing already!”
“That’s why you want to run, huh, Lucius...?”
Wisana spoke up in the most gentle and calm voice that Lucius had ever heard from him. The ruby-colored eyes were staring down at the defeated one consideringly. The pain he was feeling got a lot better now. Even though he was breathing weakly, the spark in his eyes still looked fierce, a sign that he had not given up yet!
“What are you trying to say?” Lucius deepened his voice.
“You’ve failed to resist your fate, so you keep cursing at it. You can’t stand the wounds, so you’d rather die. Your ways aren’t different from a loser here. A loser like you shouldn’t be telling me what to do and where to be. Moreover, a coward like you doesn’t have the right to insult my parents, you bastard! ...At least they did this for a reason, and they’ve cut off their flesh and bones to pay for their actions already. ...And the proof for that is my existence!”
Lucius was quiet for a moment as his ruby-colored eyes stared at the one in front of him like he tried to read the other’s mind. Then he shook his head slightly, before bursting out a loud laugh that got Wisana to clench his jaws tight!
“You really don’t understand anything at all, kid. They’ve screwed you over like that, how can you still see them as your family? You’re too optimistic. It makes me want to throw up!”
He finished speaking, then whipped his hand harshly, making a shiny red magic sword appear in his right hand. Not wasting a second more, Lucius placed the sword on Wisana’s throat right away.
“This is the last warning now, Vincent. Leave the Key of Forbidden to us and never come back to this world, will you?”
Hearing that, the listener cracked a snorting sound out of his throat. He was not smiling or frowning, even though death was about to come at him right now!
“You’re going the wrong path, Lucius. Your plan is not any different from ours. Do you really think that destroying the Pride System will end it all?” Wisana said in a soft voice.
“That’s still better than letting this world be twisted and messed up more,” Lucius replied in a stiff voice.
“This world will be more twisted and messed up if every technology it’s been building suddenly gets paralyzed.”
“But it’ll be back to normal in a while. But monsters like us will be wiped out and the Pride System won’t be found again in Pride’s history ever.”
“You’re talking about sacrificing more than ten thousand people to death by your hands, Lucius.”
“That will be worth it, if it can save billions more, right?”
“How about your friends? All the history that humans have ever made will be gone, and you don’t feel anything about that at all, you bastard?!”
“I’ve left my feelings out since a long time ago, kid. My existence has been going on for too long now. Everything should have ended by now. You should protect the future, not the past. ...the future where your spawns grow up naturally!”
“Lucius, I think you’re being a bit too narrow-minded. Only one mistake means humanity gets destroyed. Think about it, what you’re doing isn’t about the future like how you’re preaching. This is just you trying to escape your own fate, a getaway for yourself. You really don’t think that...”
“That’s enough.!”
Lucius shouted loudly, as the sword cut deeper into Wisana’s neck, getting the red blood running down and soaking his clothes. However, his face still did not show that he was in pain, he did not even blink.
“There will be no more talking. All I want from you is a yes answer, Vincent.”
The threat obviously worked. The pair of amber eyes slowly shut close, like he was considering something. Both men did not move a muscle. Wisana’s breath was exhaled out in white smoke. The temperature around them was getting lower, while the rain started falling slightly.
It had been almost two minutes since the silence fell between them. After that, those amber eyes opened slowly until they caught the other’s eyes without any sound. Then the losing one curled up a soft smile.
“I’m not going anywhere without taking Jinnie with me.”
His lips moved to make a clear statement. Lucius closed his ruby-red eyes, before exhaling white smoke out into the cold weather. His thick lips pressed together tightly before he spoke up wearily.
“I’ve already given you a choice, Vincent.” He opened his eyes to look at the young man in front of him again. “I got it. I’m going to send you to be with your family now.”
After Lucius’s voice, the rough hand lifted his red beam sword away from Wisana’s throat, drawing it up high in readiness to slash his throat to death.
“Tell Viola and Winter that I’ll meet with them soon.”
After that, he swung that sword at Wisana’s throat right away!!
CHING!!
