Chapter 210: The Parallel Night Part VI
Chapter 210: The Parallel Night Part VI
“Wisana. Hey...”
She could just use the hand that was not leaned on to touch his face, moving it softly. However, the one whose sleep was interrupted grabbed that hand and held it tightly on his lap. And that made her blush even more.
“Are you pretending to sleep right now?”
The girl who was attacked so badly asked finally, but the answer she got was a soft, cute snore like a baby’s instead. ...Hearing that, Maysa let out a long sigh, shifting her blushing face into an amused one in the blink of an eye.
“You’re unbelievable.”
She spoke quietly, before resting her head on him as well. Then the pink lips turned to press a soft kiss on the head of this annoying guy whom she did not realize since when that he could make her heart skip a beat like this.
“Messed all the script up, you silly.”
----------------
The night turned into day, fast like turning a book page. ...Last night, the Nemesis traveling party threw a celebration to restore their energy back in full. And right now, they were back in Dores town by 7 o’clock.
The town’s atmosphere was bustling more than usual. Maybe that was because the Hunting Gate event that everyone was looking forward to was about to start now...
And here, in front of the Association of Hunters’ office, the Nemesis and friends were standing around Wisana who seemed to be fully energetic today!
“It’s so crowded here. Looks like there’re many people joining the event.”
The star of the party put his hand above his eyes, while he was looking at people passing by the office and counting that there could be more than 500 people approximately.
“Don’t be too excited, Na.” Waree walked to him and adjusted her brother’s clothes after she saw that his coat was not quite in place.
“It’s okay, Nam. I can take care of myself.”
“Where?” The younger one snapped. “...Did you get those stats items out of the inventory, yet? And the equipment, did you take them to verify with the referee? Have you eaten anything for breakfast?”
“Ugh, yeah, I’ve taken care of all that, Mom. And about the breakfast, it’s banned, because they need the players to join the event without any special abilities from the food.”
“Are your weapons ready? Did you check if the support items will be enough?”
“They’re all ready, Mom. Do you have anything else to remind me about? I already got my handkerchief with me as well.”
“No, just don’t get yourself hurt, Son.”
After that, the younger one reached her hand up to pat her brother’s head in such an annoying way, making Wisana knock her head back in return harshly. And that made everyone laugh at how childish these two were.
“We’re just going to send you off here, Na.”
Tunwa was the one who spoke up with a delightful smile. ...Obviously, this morning he was relieved to see his best friend looked surprisingly fine from that brokenhearted thing.
“What? You’re not going inside together?” Wisana turned to ask him.
“No, we can’t. After this part, it’s reserved for competitors only. We also have to go find our seats for the audience, too.”
Nuchjaree spoke up, too. Wisana nodded at her, before glancing ahead to see many of the competitors started walking toward the town now. ...He tried looking around just in case to find Shin among the crowd, but there was no trace of that Zero-Celsius man still.
“Anyway, kid.”
Sander walked up to him, smashing his shoulder with a loud thud.
“Yes, Master?”
“Don’t worry about winning or losing too much, just do your best. ...Also, make sure you have the best fun. And about that skill, I’ll allow you to use it in an emergency case only, okay?”
Hearing that, the disciple smiled widely right away.
“...You’re really letting me use that skill?” he asked with a delighted voice.
“Only in an emergency case. ...And don’t go too wild. Try to be moderate, or this town would be blown away, you know.”
Wisana let out a dry laugh at the warning. ...He would never have the intention of blowing the whole town away. Who would want to be like this uncle who could not control his power?!
“Good luck, have fun.”
“I will, sir!”
Hearing his favorite disciple promise so enthusiastically, the master could not help to rock Wisana’s head softly. After that Wisana glanced at his two best friends who were standing and smiling next to him, then he walked to them with a grin on his face.
“Do your best, Na.” Nuchjaree said.
“I will. Root for me too, okay, Nuch?”
He finished speaking as he held up a hand to hi-five with her as support for each other.
“Sending you off like this kind of reminds me of the past, too,” Tunwa said with a cheerful voice.
“I agree.” Wisana put on a big smile.
“Yeah, I sent you off like this in the stadium’s hallway when you were about to go out and compete in the taekwondo championship. And you didn’t even look nervous back then, such a cocky guy.”
“Right, the one who was nervous was you, Tun.”
“But you’re going to win like that time, right, bro?”
“Of course, bro.” Then the two smiled knowingly at each other as they fist-bumped softly.
After that, Wisana kept walking and saw Leonard and Lala standing with each other. Then he smiled at them.
“Keep fighting, Mister Wisana.” The dog cheered him up with a delighted voice.
“Don’t disrepute the Magic Warrior class, Mister Wisana.” Lala sent him a creepy smile.
“Trust me, I won’t.”
Then he winked at them, before looking at Waree and Angie, the sassy kid who was now staring at him gazingly.
“Don’t get yourself hurt, Na. I’ll be rooting for you from behind.”
“Win and use the prize money to buy me stuff.”
Hearing the girls’ supportive words, Wisana held his hand up to give Waree a soft high-five and did not forget to lower it down for Angie to hit his hand as well. ...After receiving the support from them, Wisana moved on to see Warunya looking at him with a wry smile like it was awkward to see him right now.
Seeing that, he grinned widely right away.
“Don’t forget to root for me, too, Orn.” He told her softly.
“Sure.”
Seeing the other being awkward, he reached his hand to rock her head softly. That made her surprised a little, like she had never thought that Wisana would be the one who got to cheer her up instead.
“Don’t worry about last night. I actually already forgot what happened then. We can still be good friends anyway, right?”
And that was when the beautiful girl smiled widely for the first time.
“Right...”
“If we’re cool now, root for me, okay?”
He said, holding up a hand for the girl to give him a hand tagging as well...
Finally, Wisana saw Maysa who was smiling at him at the end of the line. He walked and stopped in front of her right away. The man did not say anything. He was just smiling slightly, a gentle smile.
“Don’t do something stupid on live, okay? Oh, and Ae said he would hurry out of Tristan and come here to root for you. He also said that you needed to win and get the money for our guild.”
Hearing that, the guild leader burst out with laughter, not surprised that the chief of finance was greedy to his bones that he would talk about money when he had to give Wisana supportive words.
“I’ll get going, then.”
“Win this, boss.” Then Maysa winked at him.
But before walking away, Wisana realized that he had forgotten something. So, he turned to Maysa again, making her raise her eyebrows in curiosity about what else he had to say.
“I forgot to ask for your support.”
“Huh? ...Oh,”
Maysa made a confused face before she realized that everyone had to give him a high-five. So, right now, she was holding her hand up, waiting for the other to hit it. But instead, Wisana held that hand softly, making her raise her eyebrows.
“Not like this. I need a charm of victory.”
After he finished speaking, Wisana pressed a kiss on her cheek instantly, making their friends who were watching from afar let out a cheering noise in unison, especially Tunwa, who was whistling out of satisfaction.
The cheeks of the one who got kissed turned red.
While the kisser was winking annoyingly at her after he stood up straight again.
“Did you ...just?” Maysa lost all the words to speak now.
“Just claimed my victory charm. I hope it wasn’t too much, right?”
“...That, ...well. ...Aren’t girls the ones who have to give a kiss, so how can it be counted as a charm like that?”
Maysa tried to speak, even though her cheeks looked even more red than a strawberry. Also, the hand that he just let go of felt so hot like it was just burned with fire.
“Oh, it actually has to be done by girls, huh?” The cheeky one smiled amusedly. “I’ll claim that after I win, then. Is that okay?”
It was like she just dug a grave for herself. She never thought that her words when her consciousness was not in the right place would become a deal for her to do this kind of embarrassing thing.
“Well, ...about that.”
“That’s counted as a deal, then.”
Wisana laughed delightedly at how speechless she was right now.
“W... why are you, ...why are you doing this now? Everyone is watching. Can’t you see that?”
Hearing that, the man laughed even more. He winked at her again, before leaving some simple words to make her red blood cells rush all up to her ears already.
“Well, I’m that type that messes the script up, aren’t I? Also, this is just me taking this back from you from last night, you know.” Then he pointed at the place where somebody had pressed a full kiss on.
