Chapter 445: Immortal Seal

Ash sat inside his room, while his consciousness rested inside his Soul Space, his body remaining still as his mind drifted inward in complete focus.

He was seated on one of the highest branches of the Soul Tree, overlooking the entirety of his Soul, where nothing existed except the vast dark sea stretching endlessly below, calm and silent, yet filled with a strange depth.

Lets see how one can awaken the Soul Flame....

Ash thought as he brought the Legacy crystal towards his forehead, holding it gently as he focused on it. To access the information inside the crystal, one needed a password, without it the information inside would be destroyed along with the crystal.

As he entered the password, a large amount of information rushed towards his mind in droves and the crystal in his hand disintegrated but compared to what he experienced during Rune Comprehension, the information felt simple and easy to handle.

Ash took around 15 minutes to fully digest and understand all the information, going through everything calmly without feeling any mental strain, and if Elizabeth knew that, she would be shocked, because she had taken a whole week to do the same.

Ash took a slow breath and opened his eyes, his gaze sharpening slightly as a faint light appeared in them, as if he had just understood something incomprehensible.

How fascinating.....who could expect the mechanism behind the Soul Flame to be like this...this might also be the reason why some Transcendents are weaker and why some are stronger than the other.....

To speak simply, to awaken Soul Flame, one needs to form an Immortal Seal within one’s consciousness.

The process of creating an Immortal Seal is really complicated, but with the information he has received, Ash was confident that he could create the Immortal Seal, as the steps were now clear in his mind.

The Immortal Seal then acts as the core, and the will of the person becomes the flames of the Immortal seal.

Giving birth to the Soul Flame.

It feels simple right? But its not, because the real difficulty lies in what comes before the seal is even formed.

To condense an Immortal Seal, other than Will Power, one needs to decide the nature of their Soul Flame, which is something that cannot be changed once chosen.

Everyone’s soul flame is different, some stronger, some weaker. A seal could be formed with any concept, emotion, element, bloodline, traits, fighting spirit, killing intent, aura and even laws of the world.

Everyone resonates with different things and has different specialties, thus they choose the thing that represents them as a whole and something that they are confident in to form the Immortal Seal, because any error could lead to death of the Soul.

For example, a person whose life goal is just to take revenge against someone might choose the emotion of anger or rage to condense the Immortal Seal, giving the Soul Flame the nature of anger and rage.

Thus, whenever the person is angry, his power increases many folds, as his flame responds directly to that emotion. That’s such a basic example, but it explains the idea clearly.

Providing boost is not the only thing Soul Flame can do, there are many other uses, but Ash did not get too much information about those uses, as the crystal mostly focused on the awakening process.

So, every person is different and thus they choose different aspects of themselves to form the Immortal Seal. The shape of this Immortal Seal is generally like a lotus, stable and layered.

One could condense Nine Immortal Seals, each corresponding to a petal that forms the lotus.

There are different orders of Immortal Seal, from First order to Nine Order Immortal Seal.

Although many people might not be successful at forming even a Second Immortal Seal, there are geniuses who have formed Nine Immortal Seals, meaning they have a Nine Petal Lotus as the core of their Soul Flame, making their foundation far more complete.

Because of that, their Soul Flame can have a dominating effect on other flames and can even make them incapable of properly using their Soul Flame, as long as the level difference between the two is not too large.

But even if one forms a Nine Petal Lotus or a Nine Order Immortal Seal, they might still not be stronger as compared to someone who has formed only a First Order Immortal Seal if the concept they have used is too basic, as the nature of the seal matters just as much as its level.

As compared to Immortal Seals formed from emotions or elements, the Immortal Seal formed with the help of laws might be stronger, as laws carry a deeper connection to the world itself and hold a more stable foundation.

But in very rare cases, when the intensity of emotions reaches a very high value, it can go head to head with even the laws of the world, though such moments require a very deep intensity, such that emotions resonate with the world itself.

Though, such cases are very rare, almost unheard of for most people.

Once you form a First Order Immortal Seal, you step into the Demi God rank according to the Path of Transcendence, as your will finally takes a stable form.

And if you have a Nine Order Immortal Seal, you can fight against even God rank beings and escape.

As your foundation becomes far more complete than others.

For those who follow the Path of Transcendence along with the Path of Genesis, they can become Demi God two times, once by transforming one’s soul into a Divine Soul and the other by forming an Immortal Seal, and because of that, they might be stronger than those who only follow a single path.

But walking two paths is not easy, as it requires resources, time, and even double the effort to achieve what you want, and very few can maintain balance between both without falling behind.

Thus, by walking on the Path of Transcendence, you could fight one level above you even though the gap between each level is enormous, which is what makes this path so valuable and difficult to tread on.

But typically, those who can form a Nine Petal Immortal Seal are absolute geniuses, and for those who have made all their petals from the laws of nature before becoming a Demi god, there has been no one like that.

Before becoming a Demi God or even a God, comprehension of laws is very hard, thus these geniuses usually comprehend a single law using enormous amount of resources and make a petal with it, while using other aspects of themselves to create the other eight petals.

They do this because, as long as they have created a high ceiling for their Immortal Seal, they can change the petals after they have comprehended more laws, which gives them a path to grow further.

For example, if one had made all their nine petals with nothing but emotions, even if they comprehend laws in the future, they cannot replace the existing petals with ones formed from laws, because the ceiling of emotions and laws are very different and do not align.

But if even a single petal is of a very high ceiling, like the laws of the world, one could still replace all their petals with laws after they comprehend them in the future, as that single petal sets the upper limit.

This was the thing that was mostly repeated in the teachings he received, almost as if it was the most important point to remember.

....Looks like Eternal Supreme wanted Elizabeth to create a high ceiling for herself.....

But now the question was, what will Ash use to create his own Immortal Seal?

"Is that even a question? I have Runes with me, I will use Runes to create my Immortal Seal....."

Ash muttered with a faint smile on his face, as the thought alone felt natural to him, almost obvious. He could already imagine how high a ceiling using the laws of the world would create, but when it came to Runes, he simply could not grasp how high that ceiling would reach.

But that very uncertainty made it even more exciting, as if he was stepping into something unknown yet far greater.

"The real question is which Rune should I use for my Immortal Seal...?"

Ash fell into deep thought for a long time inside his Soul Space, sitting still as his mind moved through everything he had learned, going over the information again and again without rushing.

He looked at how the nature of the Soul Flame changes when different kinds of concepts or elements are brought together, and doing so he came across a piece of information that he had not focused on completely before, which was that one needed to choose concepts in such a way that they do not create conflict with each other, because even a slight imbalance could lead to the destabilization of the Immortal Seal and even the death of the person.

When he realized this, only one thought came to Ash’s mind, something that won’t leave his mind at all.

"Lets use Rune of Harmony for my First Order Immortal Seal."
