Chapter 454: Unmasking the Divine Doctor
Chapter 454: Unmasking the Divine Doctor
"You, you, you..." Mu Anhan blushed, "You haven’t slept at all?"
"Slept for a bit." Gu Xiaozhan laughed, "Worried I’ll run out of stamina?"
"No way!" Mu Anhan knew he had abnormal strength, but having been poisoned, she couldn’t help but feel concerned.
"You’re saying one thing but mean another!" He stroked her hair.
Mu Anhan finished eating and quickly changed his bandage: "The wound has healed, no need to bandage it. It would be too conspicuous, and we don’t want the opponent to make a fuss about it."
Gu Xiaozhan nodded, "The medicine you prepared is very effective, have you considered starting a pharmaceutical company?"
Mu Anhan shook her head, "I don’t want to. I’m lazy!"
Running a big company would be too troublesome, and she just didn’t want to.
She was satisfied with making medicine for patients she had treated herself.
Mass production wasn’t her specialty.
"When you ever do want to, just let me know." Gu Xiaozhan fully supported her in starting her own enterprise.
"Sure!" Mu Anhan joked, "Is Mr. Gu aiming to groom me into President Mu, or what?"
"President Mu, we need to set off, shall we?" Gu Xiaozhan tilted his head and asked her.
Mu Anhan laughed, clung to his arm, "Let’s go, let’s go. If you’re back too late, people might get suspicious."
Since Mu Chaohuan was already at work, he didn’t come to see them off.
Shui Chaoyu came to see them off, and upon seeing the wound on Gu Xiaozhan’s hand, he exclaimed, "Sister-in-law, you’re even more impressive than the Divine Doctor!"
"Of course." Mu Anhan accepted the compliment.
Shui Chaoyu immediately said, "I haven’t seen the Divine Doctor for so long. Tell him I miss him, and ask him to join me for a drink when he’s free! He treated my wounds, and I haven’t thanked him yet!"
"Mr. Gu paid him, so no need to thank him further." Mu Anhan laughed.
"Making friends is always good!" Shui Chaoyu was straightforward.
Mu Anhan nodded, "Sure, I’ll pass on the message."
Leaving Weihai, the car headed towards Imperial City.
In the car, Gu Xiaozhan began to question her: "You know the Divine Doctor?"
Mu Anhan gazed at him, knowing full well that if she were to treat his wounds, her secret identity would likely be exposed.
Others could be easily fooled, but this man wasn’t so easily deceived.
"Do you think the Divine Doctor made a lot of money off you and that you want it back?" she evaded the question.
Gu Xiaozhan was amused by her, "Can I get it back?"
"Probably not!" Mu Anhan shook her head, "But the next time you need the Divine Doctor, you won’t have to pay."
Gu Xiaozhan was entertained by her again, "That’s fair."
"Honey, after the oil incident, Pei Wei and the Feng family surely won’t let it go, wherever you go, be careful." Mu Anhan quickly changed the subject.
Gu Xiaozhan nodded, that’s for sure.
By the time they returned to Imperial City, the lights were just coming on.
Having left the slightly desolate seaside and returned to the bustling metropolis, it was as if, in just one night, they’d experienced a dramatic life-and-death battle.
Mu Anhan looked out at the flashing neon lights and then at a street vendor selling pastries, pulling Gu Xiaozhan, "Those look tasty..."
Gu Xiaozhan told the driver to stop.
She hopped out of the car, went to the pastry stall, and grabbed a hot one to eat. Then she asked Gu Xiaozhan, who followed her over, "Honey, want one?"
Having grown up in the Zhan Family, Gu Xiaozhan was used to a life of luxury and had never eaten street food!
Not waiting for his answer, she said, "Boss, give me twenty of those!"
