"Alright!" Mu Anhan didn’t want to argue with him, so she nodded quickly, "My little tongue is disobedient, hubby should punish it!"

She stuck out her small red tongue at him.

But Gu Xiaozhan lowered his head and kissed her instead.

Until the phone on the office desk rang, only then did the lost-in-the-kiss couple stop.

"Hubby, answer the phone."

She sat in her seat and looked at the book, her face flushing red.

Gu Xiaozhan answered the phone, "I’ll be right there."

He hung up the receiver and picked up his suit jacket, "I’m going out for a bit. If I’m late getting back, call the driver to take you home."

Mu Anhan saw his urgency, ran up and hugged him, "I’ll wait for you to come back."

Gu Xiaozhan nodded and left briskly, calling Lie Huo and He Gang on the way.

"Call the pilot for an immediate takeoff to Changping City."

The two went up to the rooftop where the pilot had readied the plane for takeoff.

Once Gu Xiaozhan, He Gang, Lie Huo, and other bodyguards boarded, the plane took off.

Standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, Mu Anhan watched his private jet depart, her gaze following him into the distance.

"There’s a slight issue with the oil exploration in Changping," He Gang had received the news too, "Mr. Gu, the cause of the accident is still under investigation, but so far, there have been no reported casualties."

Gu Xiaozhan nodded, knowing the Changping oil field was a secret field under the military’s control, separate from the civilian ones; it’s to prevent foreign routes from being blocked in case of war.

"Mr. Gu, we’ve contacted a promising geologist, and none of the fields he’s handled have ever had any accidents." He Gang carefully chose his words, "But he is reluctant to work for us!"

Gu Xiaozhan understood clearly, "You mean my brother-in-law Mu Chaohuan?"

"Exactly," He Gang responded immediately, "It’s one thing that he’s unwilling to work for us, but I’ve heard rumors that the President Mansion is also trying to recruit him..."
