Possessed No More: The True Star Returns to Claim Her Throne

Chapter 161: That Bird Took a Liking to Her

Chapter 161: That Bird Took a Liking to Her

Live Comments: [Is the production team even trying to be human anymore?]

[That rock is huge, at least three or four hundred pounds. How are they supposed to move that?]

[Listen to this! Move a rock or break bricks with their bare hands. These are two delicate young ladies, how can they do something so brutal?]

[Look at Riley Perry’s hands! They’re so fair and delicate. Forget whether she can do it or not, hands like that could belong to a hand model. And the show wants her to break bricks?]

The netizens thought the production team was being cruel, but Holly Summers couldn’t have been happier. "Riley, I’m not very strong. I’m useless for this challenge, so I can only count on you! You’re not going to say you can’t do it, are you? I remember you even used Qinggong last episode. You were really strong, too, able to pull Victoria Koenig off her feet with one hand..."

’You little bitch. I refuse to believe I can’t expose you this time!’

[Is it just me, or does the way Holly Summers talks sound really off?]

[They’re on the same team. It’s one thing not to help, but she’s just standing there making sarcastic remarks. No wonder Riley Perry always claps back at her. If it were me, I’d do the same.]

For once, Riley Perry surprisingly didn’t retort. She just nodded. "Alright. Then the next challenge is all on you!"

After speaking, she walked to the table with the bricks, arranged ten of them so they were partially overhanging the edge, and without any visible sign of channeling energy or striking a pose, she raised her hand to chop down.

"Wait!" Holly Summers shouted, scurrying over. "Let me help the viewers in the livestream check these. We need to see if these bricks are legit, hehe."

Riley Perry was speechless. ’Is she implying I’m faking this with the production team?’

Live Comments: [Seriously, this Holly Summers is triggering my aversion to stupidity. She and Riley Perry are on the same team! What’s the point of this whole act?]

[I guess Riley Perry’s performance last episode was too amazing, so she doesn’t believe it. This episode, she’s seizing the chance to verify it herself.]

[Before, she was putting on a big show of being the best of sisters. After getting clapped back at by Riley Perry a couple of times, she’s showing her true colors. I just have one thing to say: she had it coming.]

Holly Summers had no idea that her actions were tanking her public appeal. She was holding the bricks, inspecting them one by one, even trying to break them with all her might. Unfortunately for her, the bricks didn’t even crack.

Riley Perry couldn’t be bothered with her. She walked over to the large rock, bent down, gripped its edge with both hands, and with a heave, lifted the rock—which weighed around three to four hundred pounds. She then carried it over to the spot marked out by the staff and let go.

With a THUD, a staff member felt the ground tremble.

Holly Summers was still over there inspecting the bricks and only just then realized the massive rock had been moved.

Riley Perry saw her look over and pointed at the rock. "Here, why don’t you come check if this rock is made of bread."

That single sentence maxed out her sarcasm skill!

The look on Holly Summers’s face was beyond ugly; she couldn’t even force a fake smile.

"Hurry up. This rock just looks big, it has no weight at all. Even with your weak little arms, you could move it. Don’t you want to try?"

「Down the mountain, Best Actor King and Simon Ford were already making their way up.」

Riley Perry saw them, and so did Holly Summers. Gritting her teeth, Holly actually went over to foolishly try and lift the massive rock.

However, even using all the strength she was born with, she couldn’t make the rock budge an inch.

By the time she straightened up and looked at Riley Perry, Riley had already chopped down with her hand, slicing through all ten bricks in one go.

Broken brick fragments flew everywhere. Somehow, one of the pieces flew and hit Holly Summers on the hand, making her HISS in pain.

"Oops, my bad. I didn’t do it on purpose. I guess even flying bread crumbs can hurt.

Tsk, tsk. See? I told you your brow was dark and you were radiating bad luck. I was right. Even a tiny piece of brick wants to pick on you."

Holly Summers, who had been about to play the victim, snapped her mouth shut. She looked at where she was standing, then at the half-bricks left on the table from Riley’s chop, and had to admit she was indeed quite unlucky.

Riley Perry asked a staff member, "Are we cleared to go?"

"Yes, yes, go on. You’ve passed the challenge."

Riley Perry continued climbing. Mount Cairn was quite steep and tall, but she didn’t feel tired at all as she walked, even occasionally searching for food hidden by the production team.

Holly Summers was panting with exhaustion, struggling to keep up with Riley. She wanted to call out for Riley to wait so she could rest, but the moment she opened her mouth, a bird flew overhead and—SPLAT—a dropping fell right into it!

Holly Summers froze for a long moment, then doubled over, fell to her knees, and began to retch violently. The live comments were all variations of: [...Blegh~]

[...Gag~ That’s disgusting.]

[See, Holly Summers is definitely radiating bad luck. Even the birds look down on her!]

[Poster above, you’re wrong. The bird was clearly *very* interested in her, wasn’t it?]

[Interested in her mouth as a toilet? Blegh~ I’m actually gonna puke!]

Holly Summers looked like she was about to vomit up her own gallbladder. The constant retching had left her face unnaturally pale, and her body was shaking nonstop. A staff member following them kindly offered her a tissue and a cup of water. Holly’s hand trembled as she took them.

Riley Perry acted as if she hadn’t seen a thing. No gloating, no feigned concern. She looked down the mountain path. ’Good, Victoria Koenig has already caught up.’

Their second challenge wasn’t breaking bricks with bare hands. It was answering questions, just like the first. She and Roxanne Fulton were quite lucky; they passed after only two attempts.

As long as Miles Ford wasn’t the first one to the top, she was fine with it. As for Mr. King, who was on his team, she could only say she was sorry.

COUGH COUGH COUGH COUGH~ COUGH COUGH COUGH COUGH~ Holly Summers was only trying to rinse her mouth out with water but ended up choking on it. Her pale face turned bright red from the coughing fit.

This was much more entertaining than a face-changing performance.

[I’ve heard the saying, "An unlucky person will choke even on water." While Holly Summers’ situation is a bit different, I have to admit, I’ve never seen someone so unlucky.]

[That’s because you don’t know what happened last night.

I’m an insider on the production team. After the livestream ended last night, Holly Summers took a huge spill. Then she tried to talk tough to RP and ended up biting her tongue. This morning, she made her bed collapse when she got up.]

Riley Perry was the first one up. Holly Summers only got up because her bed suddenly collapsed. That’s how the two of them ended up on the same team. However, Holly didn’t make a big deal about collapsing the bed, so even Riley didn’t know.

If she had known, she might have regretted getting up so early and mourned her lost five hundred thousand.

"Are you going to be okay or not? If you really can’t go on, just quit the show. Go to a hospital and get checked out before you puke your guts out."

Everyone thought that after being provoked like that by Riley, Holly Summers would surely start vomiting even more violently. But instead, she... she... she stood up!

"In your dreams! I know you don’t want me on this show, but I refuse to give you what you want. I’m going to keep going, all the way to the summit."
