Chapter 658 658: The Turning Point

"Scizor, let's finish this!" Chadri called out.

The red metal Pokemon burst from its Pokeball with a loud clang. Its steel pincers gleamed under the lights. This was Chadri's fastest attacker.

"SCIZOR!"

It crossed its pincers, ready to fight.

Togepi looked up at the Bug/Steel-type and waved. "Toge toge pii!!"

"Scizor, MEGA EVOLVE!"

Chadri's Mega Ring blazed with rainbow light, connecting with the Scizorite on Scizor's body.

FLASH!

Mega Scizor emerged from the transformation. Its pincers became even more massive and dangerous, resembling three-pronged claws. Black markings spread across its red body, and its eyes gleamed with enhanced focus.

"A Mega Evolution!" The crowd roared.

"Now, Mega Scizor, Bullet Punch, as fast as you can!"

Mega Scizor's Technician ability boosted weak moves, and Bullet Punch always went first. It could attack before Togepi finished using Metronome!

Mega Scizor vanished in a blur. Its steel pincer shot forward faster than anyone could see.

"Toge—!" Togepi's fingers just started moving when the punch connected.

BAM!

Togepi tumbled backward across the floor. The Metronome got interrupted!

"Again! Don't give it time!" Chadri ordered.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

More punches. Mega Scizor kept hitting with enhanced power, never letting Togepi use its fingers. Each Bullet Punch hit harder thanks to Technician.

"Toge... pi..." Togepi struggled to stand, looking dizzy. Even with John's Aura helping, its baby stats couldn't take repeated super-effective hits.

"One more! Finish it!" Chadri pressed.

BAM!

Togepi was knocked back again, eyes starting to spiral.

John smiled. "Good job, Togepi. Four out of six isn't bad at all."

"Togepi, return." John recalled his baby Pokemon.

The crowd had mixed reactions, some relieved, others disappointed the show was over.

Chadri let out a breath. Finally. One down, but it cost him four Pokemon. He had Mega Scizor and Metagross left.

"So you're finally taking this seriously," Chadri said, his confidence coming back.

John's expression changed from playful to focused. The warm-up was done.

"You wanted me to take you seriously?" John grabbed his second Pokeball. "Here's a Pokemon that doesn't need luck."

He threw it.

"Come out, Haxorus!"

ROOOAAAAAR!

The dragon's roar shook the stadium. A huge form appeared, scales that were black instead of green. A Shiny Haxorus, black scales with red edges, tusks glowing with dragon power.

Where Togepi was cute, Haxorus looked down rigth monstrous dangerous.

"A Shiny?!" Chadri's eyes widened. Shiny Pokemon were already incredibly rare, but a fully trained Shiny Haxorus was on another level. Still, considering John had the most Shiny Pokémon in the world, it wasn't that surprising.

"Mega Scizor vs Haxorus..." Chadri thought fast. Bug/Steel versus Dragon. Bad matchup, but Mega Scizor had speed.

"Mega Scizor! Bullet Punch!"

Mega Scizor blurred forward.

"Dragon Dance," John said calmly.

Haxorus's eyes glowed red. Even as the punch hit, dragon energy swirled around it. The attack barely hurt - Haxorus just tanked it while its Attack and Speed went up.

"Again! Don't let it power up!" Chadri yelled.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

Mega Scizor threw punch after punch. But Haxorus stood there taking it while the boost finished.

"Now," John said. "Outrage."

Haxorus's eyes lit up with pure fury. Purple and red flames covered its black scales.

ROOOAAAAAAAAR!!

The Shiny Haxorus moved. Not fast like Mega Scizor, but unstoppable.

Its massive tusk swung, covered in dragon fire.

Mega Scizor tried to dodge—

Too slow.

CRASH!

One hit. After all those punches, Haxorus ended it with one strike.

Mega Scizor hit the wall and slid down, knocked out.

"Mega Scizor is unable to battle! Haxorus wins!"

The crowd went crazy.

Chadri stared at his fallen Mega Scizor, then at the Shiny Haxorus still glowing with leftover dragon energy.

One Pokemon left. Metagross, his ace.

He grabbed his Mega Ring.

"This isn't over, John." Chadri's voice was hard as steel.
