Chapter 621 621: Shadow Purified

The shattered Synergy Stone released a golden liquid that scattered across Shadow Mewtwo's entire body.

"AAAHHH!!" Shadow Mewtwo immediately released a pained roar.

It felt as though what poured across its body wasn't the stone's solution, but rather magma capable of dissolving everything, concentrated acid!

Shadow Mewtwo collapsed to the ground but quickly stood again. The crack on its shoulder where the Synergy Stone had been embedded had already closed due to its powerful self-healing abilities, but left behind a lightning-shaped golden scar.

Shadow Mewtwo examined its arms and body with novelty, as though seeing itself for the first time.

"I... I've finally escaped the shadow power's torment!!!"

Shadow power caused Pokemon to lose emotions, transforming them into mechanical fighters who only obeyed trainer commands. All the pain it had endured during its corruption had been suppressed, simply becoming numb, because even the ability to feel pain had been lost.

What truly brought Shadow Mewtwo agony was the collision between the Synergy Stone and shadow power, treating its body as a battlefield.

If one power had simply overwhelmed and eliminated the other, that would have been tolerable. The problem was that these two forces within its body had formed a precarious balance, perpetually clashing yet unable to destroy each other.

Shadow Mewtwo had sought a sufficiently powerful trainer specifically to have external forces strong enough to shatter this bizarre, agonizing equilibrium within its body.

Only a Mewtwo could have survived such torture. Ordinary Pokemon would have died long ago under this torment, or their bodies would have exploded from the Synergy Stone and shadow power's volatile interaction.

Shadow Mewtwo hadn't lost its emotions, which meant the shadow power hadn't won. Conversely, that meant the Synergy Stone's power had triumphed.

Synergy Stone power didn't harm Pokemon, instead, it enhanced them.

Shadow Mewtwo turned its gaze toward John.

"Human, thank you. You freed me from eternal torment."

"Thanks aren't necessary. Let's discuss something practical." John directly pulled out his Luxury Ball. "Interested in coming with me to battle other trainers?"

Shadow Mewtwo looked at the Pokeball in John's hand. First stunned, it suddenly smiled.

"On one condition."

"Speak," John said, hearing Shadow Mewtwo's willingness to voluntarily join, breathing out lightly with relief.

Mewtwo-type Pokemon possessed stubborn personalities. Even after being defeated and forcibly captured, they wouldn't necessarily serve loyally.

"If we encounter shadow Pokemon in the future, we must liberate and purify them!" Shadow Mewtwo clenched its fist.

Having experienced that suffering itself, it wanted not only to shield other shadow Pokemon, but also to eliminate the storm clouds that created them.

"Of course," John agreed with a single word.

Shadow Pokemon were themselves products of mad scientists destroying Pokemon's humanity.

Hearing John's agreement, Shadow Mewtwo didn't hesitate, extending its hand to touch the Luxury Ball in his grasp.

Light flashed. Shadow Mewtwo was captured.

John immediately checked his new Pokemon's stats.

Mewtwo's individual values weren't outside John's expectations.

Other apex deity-tier Pokemon appeared with 6IV perfect stats, if not, that would be absurd.

However, what surprised John slightly was that Mewtwo's type was actually Shadow, and it possessed two move pools.

Like Lugia, after being purified, the move pool reverted to normal Lugia's, and its typing returned to Flying and Psychic. Only its external appearance maintained Shadow Lugia's coloring.

Could simply bathing in Synergy Stone solution complete purification?

That didn't seem right.

If purification were that simple, there wouldn't be so many shadow Pokemon.
