Chapter 200 : Kitsune-sama Challenges Nagano Dungeon No. 2 (4)

Atsuage ran.

The Wood Golem’s towering frame was nearly ten meters tall—massive enough that one had to crane their neck to see it. Each ponderous step toppled trees, its presence alone a threat. Though wooden, its weight and power were overwhelming… and with sheets of metal bolted into its form, any careless awakener who drew too near would surely be crushed underfoot.

Normally, the key to such a battle would be protecting the long-range damage dealers.

But Atsuage did not fight by normal logic.

Its tactics were dictated by two dice.

From the void, they appeared, spinning furiously.

“Emergency, emergency. Building Block Golem—launch preparations complete. Beginning link with Master.”

The mysterious broadcast echoed as the dice froze in midair, glowing brightly. Their movement was different from what Inari had seen back in Saitama Dungeon No. 3.

The result was displayed.

“Two and four! Eight! Eight times! Eight times!”

Atsuage’s toy-like frame, normally no more than half a meter, swelled to eight times that size—roughly four meters.

Still less than half the Wood Golem’s height, yet it grappled the giant head-on, pressed down from above by sheer size.

Ordinarily, it would have been overpowered instantly.

But Atsuage was no ordinary construct.

“Beam.”

“GROOOOHH!?”

A dazzling blast roared from Atsuage, slamming the Wood Golem back and toppling its colossal body with a thunderous crash.

Seizing the opening, Atsuage leapt high, aiming to crush it from above—only for the Golem to seize its leg and hurl it away.

It was like watching professional wrestling.

But Inari and the others had no time to spectate.

She clashed with the silver-furred werewolf, while Eri’s team fought the rest.

The division of roles had fallen into place naturally—and worked well.

“[Counter Saber]!”

“Gyaaang!?”

“[Flame Arrow]!”

Rotating blades of light spun around Eri, shredding a reckless werewolf before Ririka’s spell finished it.

Shizuna and Jane intercepted those that tried to slip past toward Mei or Ririka, while Mei healed the frontline as needed.

“Umu. That side needeth no worry.”

Even while crossing blades with the silver werewolf, Inari felt reassured.

The maids’ coordination was flawless. Shizuna’s techniques seemed to provide the killing edge, but together they formed a solid team.

Likely, even this silver beast could fall to them.

But—

“Grrraargh!”

“Nu!”

The silver werewolf vanished from sight, reappearing behind Inari with a slash aimed at her back.

But the blow glanced harmlessly off her shrine maiden robes.

She spun, blade flashing, yet the beast evaded with blinding speed.

Yes—Inari was clearly outpaced.

The werewolf’s claws could not pierce her defenses, so for now she was unharmed… but she could not land a decisive strike either.

“Now, now… this is troublesome. Mine eyes and limbs cannot follow thy speed.”

“Grrraaaagh!”

“Seiyaa!”

The werewolf blurred, materializing before her. Inari brought her sword down—but it dodged with terrifying speed, sinking its fangs into her arm.

Its claws had failed, so it had shifted to tearing flesh.

Indeed, that bite had strength enough to rend even a steel-armored awakener.

But such strength was still insufficient to pierce Inari’s defense.

And Inari now possessed a most unreasonable skill: the ability to throw an enemy simply by deciding to.

“Soo—rei!”

“Gyaang!?”

Kogami-Style Aikijutsu.

A skill that threw foes from any position.

The moment she thought to throw, it was already done.

The silver werewolf was slammed into the ground, dazed, with no understanding of how it had happened.

And then, Inari’s pointed finger declared its doom.

“This is the end.”

Before it could spring back up, foxfire engulfed it, smashing it down again.

Bolts of foxfire rained in a relentless rush, like a flurry of strikes pinning a foe against the ropes.

“Beam.”

“GRROOOOOHH!?”

By the time the silver werewolf dissolved into nothing, the other werewolves had already fallen to the maids.

And Atsuage’s beam had pierced the Wood Golem, finishing it.

Though it looked displeased at such a brute-force ending, victory was still victory.

System messages flowed into view.

【Boss】Wood Golem defeated!

【Boss】New Moon Werewolf defeated!

Dungeon clear!

Reward Box acquired!

All survivors will be ejected for dungeon reset

“Two bosses…?”

Eri’s bewildered voice was only natural.

A dungeon was supposed to have only one boss.

Rare monsters could appear, yes—but never two bosses.

Yet the system had clearly declared two.

What that meant, none of them knew.

Before they could ponder further… Inari and her companions were transported back outside.
