Chapter 181: Julian Lawson, We’re Over
Chapter 181: Julian Lawson, We’re Over
The internet has gone crazy. After all, the matter between The Lawson Corporation, Julian Lawson, Vera Hansen, and Serena Sterling has been stirring quite the sensation these past few days. With the added antics of the paparazzi heating things up, it has only sparked more attention.
This instantly ignited the trending searches.
At Hawthorne Manor.
Orion Hawthorne burst into laughter upon seeing this.
"Well done!" he said while adding more funds.
"Boost the traffic, boost the traffic, I want to go wild boosting the traffic hahaha!"
Orion Hawthorne frantically clicked.
Constantly stacking traffic for that paparazzi outlet.
And showering them with tips, crazily tipping.
Orion Hawthorne was rolling on the couch at home, even the chubby ragdoll cat nearby couldn’t bear to look and turned its back to him.
Meanwhile, the two paparazzi were delighted to see the rising traffic, as countless advertisers reached out, wanting to include their ads when the next piece of gossip was released.
"There’s definitely more dirt to expose. Even if there wasn’t any, I have other things I could post." The paparazzo chuckled as he quickly began editing.
The underling next to him marveled at this popularity.
"Bro, you’re amazing, I never knew!" the underling praised.
"You have no idea how much more awesome I really am!" The paparazzo started on a new edit.
Meanwhile, online discussions were even more heated than ever, sparking endless debates.
"I saw before that Silas Hawthorne was chasing after a mysterious woman relentlessly. Who would’ve thought it was Serena Sterling? And just look at Silas’s eyes, he’s absolutely smitten!"
"Serena Sterling is so lucky, her ex-husband is Julian Lawson, and her current beau is Silas Hawthorne!"
"I’m so envious, that wicked woman, let me step in and play a role for a couple of episodes!"
...
Meanwhile, on the other side.
By the sea.
The two were already heading back, Serena Sterling walked to the pool by the restaurant to rinse off the sand.
Silas Hawthorne stood by, watching, and handed her a box of tissues from nearby.
"Thank you," Serena said, taking the tissues to dry herself off.
"Here." He handed her her heels.
Serena nodded, taking them, and as she put them on, she felt a touch of embarrassment seeing his damp hair.
"It’s nothing." Silas Hawthorne clearly saw her thoughts and said, taking a towel from the side to wipe it off, "It’s all good now."
Serena smiled, not saying much, just nodding slightly.
"Mm." She responded.
Then the two walked inside.
"I think we ought to head back soon," he said, "Just now, a video of us here was posted online."
Saying that, Silas Hawthorne showed the relevant page to Serena Sterling.
Paying careful attention to her expression.
"Do you mind?" he asked.
Although he had already asked this before and had received a ’no’ as an answer.
Serena just smiled.
"I don’t," she replied.
After all, she wasn’t cheating while married nor interfering with someone else’s relationship.
She and Silas Hawthorne were both single, nothing to hide.
She had already made up her mind when she agreed to Silas Hawthorne’s proposal.
Moreover, they were merely getting to know each other, not yet defining their relationship.
No law stipulates a divorced woman can’t interact with other men.
Thinking so, she looked up at Silas Hawthorne beside her, and sincerely said, "Thank you for today, I had a great time."
He smiled as well, his smile a little different from usual, his eyes holding something more.
A touch of deep emotion.
"I’m glad," he said, hoping she would always be happy with him by her side.
The two of them left together.
Another paparazzi had already found out their location, so there were already people gathered outside.
Silas Hawthorne was well prepared; there were bodyguards clearing the way outside. He protected Serena and got her into the car, and they quickly left the place.
Night had fallen, and as Serena Sterling and Silas Hawthorne sat in the backseat, she gazed out at the nighttime cityscape outside the window. The flow of cars and people formed a river, making her feel a sense of reality unlike the previous sense of floating.
She rolled down the window to let the breeze blow, feeling quite nice.
She didn’t realize that someone beside her had been watching her continuously.
... ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ ????????????????????·????????????????·????????????
The Bentley pulled up beneath the building where Serena rented her apartment.
With the car steadily parked, Serena unfastened her seatbelt.
She got out of the car.
"So, that’s it for today, bye," Serena said with a smile.
Silas Hawthorne nodded, "Goodbye."
Serena turned and went upstairs while Silas stood by the car, watching her enter the building.
Serena stepped into the elevator, pressed the button for her floor, and watched the red-lit numbers rise. A curious feeling arose in her heart.
"Ding!" The elevator arrived.
Serena stepped out.
She walked towards her apartment, but as she turned the corner, she saw someone standing outside her door.
A man, his eyes were red, standing there, staring directly at her.
It was Julian Lawson.
He didn’t know how long he had been waiting there, but he looked a bit haggard.
Upon seeing her, he strode over.
Serena turned to leave, but he had already grabbed her shoulder.
"Serena," he called her name.
He looked her up and down, noticing she wore the same blue dress as in the paparazzi video, and his eyes seemed to blaze with anger.
"Did you go out with Silas Hawthorne?" he questioned coldly.
Serena shook off his hand holding her shoulder.
"Yes," she responded.
"What do you mean?" Julian Lawson continued to ask.
Serena looked at him, under the dim light of the corridor, his features were as profound as they once were.
"I don’t understand what you mean," Serena said calmly, "Why are you here, and why are you asking me these things?"
Julian Lawson suppressed his emotions and said, "Why did you go out with Silas Hawthorne? What did you two do?"
Serena looked him up and down.
She didn’t understand why he was here.
He had long since fallen for another woman, so what right did he have to come here and inquire about her matters?
Did he think that because she once liked him, she should remain chaste for him forever?
After he repeatedly hurt her and after she lost two children, should she still stupidly wait and hope for his return?
She wasn’t that cheap!
With these thoughts, Serena said, "Julian Lawson, we’re divorced."
"Serena..."
Julian Lawson wanted to say something, but Serena had already interrupted him, "We’re done."
"Do you know that?"
Yet Julian Lawson still stared at her intently, his eyes bloodshot.
"You two just went for dinner, right?" He seemed unable to understand her words, stubbornly asking, "It’s those people online talking nonsense, isn’t it?"
Serena closed her eyes, unwilling to say more to him, avoiding him and about to open the door.
But he pulled her back and pressed her against the wall.
"Answer me!" he roared, unable to contain his emotions, his eyes bloodshot with anger.
