Chapter 491: The Active Ship

Xu Huo didn't go over to help. Instead, he removed the red wristband from the corpse and returned to the elevator, pressing the button for the fourth floor.

"Help! Save me!" the female player was still screaming. Compared to the player chasing after her with a weird laugh, she appeared weak and pitiful. Seeing she was about to be caught, she produced a small drum and a drumstick from her hands. With a strike towards the person behind her, that player was pushed back several meters by the sound wave.

Seizing this opportunity, the woman squeezed into the elevator just before the doors completely closed.

"Powerful Wrench!" The pursuing player didn't give up, throwing out an item that jammed into the nearly shut elevator doors.

Xu Huo used the water jet gun to cut through the metal wrench on the door. With his other hand, he used the Note Launcher to shoot the kite string at the man lunging forward, hitting him right between the eyes!

The white wristband player, realizing something was wrong, tried to run. But how could he outrun the kite string? As he took out an item to try and break the line, Xu Huo set him on fire first. The man immediately screamed in agony.

Dragging the man to the elevator door, the man stubbornly refused to enter, his hands gripping the partially closed doors, trying to struggle free.

Unfortunately, the elevator had already started moving. The forcibly closing doors snapped off his hands along with his neck, leaving only a head and eight fingers inside the elevator.

Xu Huo leisurely retracted the kite string, took off the black wristband and replaced it with the red one, authorizing the elevator to skip the second and third floors and go directly to the fourth.

*Gulp!* The sound of the woman swallowing hard echoed in the elevator, along with the sound of her rapidly increasing heartbeat.Xu Huo knew the woman was terrified. Without looking at her further, he walked straight out once the elevator arrived.

A few seconds later, the woman followed behind him.

The situation on the fourth floor was even worse than on the other levels. The killing was now out in the open. There were even instances of black wristband players cooperating with red wristband players to hunt ordinary people and white wristband players for sport. Many people were fleeing in panic, hiding wherever they could. When found, another heart-stopping, desperate escape for their lives would ensue.

And the goal of the red and black wristband players wasn't to kill people directly, but to use them for their games.

"10, 9, 8...!" A black wristband player sat in a beach chair, loudly counting down towards the open-air swimming pool on the deck. "3, 2... 60, 59, 58..."

Before this strange countdown ended, a person suddenly stood up from under the pool water and tried to flee towards the side. Unfortunately, before he could even reach the pool's edge, the black wristband player doing the countdown raised a gun and shot through his head!

The player's half-emptied head, along with the corpse, fell back into the pool, staining the already murky water even redder.

"I said, anyone who comes out from underwater before the time is up loses. Losers die. That's fair, right?" The black wristband player chuckled, continuing to address the pool. "Look at you all, you have no endurance at all. You can't even hold your breath for ten minutes before popping out one after another. Friends, show some spirit. You're making the water so dirty, it's really embarrassing for me."

"Fish out the corpses."

Two trembling servers nearby complied, dragging the people soaked in the water up and placing them fearfully beside the three red wristband players next to the black wristband player.

The scene that followed was too appalling to describe, but the black wristband player paid it no mind. He just reminded his friends to mind their status, then turned back to continue his breath-holding headshot game with the players in the pool.

"Beasts in human skin!" The woman behind Xu Huo's teeth chattered, but seeing the situation, she didn't dare step forward. Instead, she signaled Xu Huo to leave quickly.

However, they could no longer leave.

The black wristband player shot another player who couldn't hold their breath and surfaced from the pool. He then turned his head towards the direction where the two were standing and said, "Since you're already here, why not join the fun?"

The players who were 'dining' stopped their actions. Two other black wristband players closed in from the front and back. Seeing the red wristband, they directly bypassed him and grabbed the female player.

The female player struggled and screamed in terror, but the black wristband player simply jabbed her throat with one hand, and she immediately fell silent.

"So they are companions." The black wristband player glanced at the two and invited Xu Huo to sit down, saying, "I haven't seen you before."

"I've seen you all." Xu Huo ignored the woman thrown into the pool and looked at the group. "We crossed paths when checking in on the seventh floor."

The black wristband player scrutinized him but, having no recollection, said, "We're having a gathering. Would you like some?"

"No, thanks." Xu Huo glanced at the table. "The environment here isn't great."

The three red wristband players looked slightly displeased. "You're not even nobility, yet you're quite particular."

Among those present, only the black wristband player sitting in the chair giving orders was nobility. The three red wristband players, as well as the two black wristband players acting as bodyguards, were not.

"Why are you with a white wristband?" The black wristband player with the noble emblem tattooed on the back of his hand took a sip of wine and said slowly, "Did you bring that person onto the ship, or are you protecting that woman?"

Xu Huo didn't answer that question. Instead, he said, "What's the fun in killing a flock of sheep penned in a circle? The struggle between wolf and wolf is much more thrilling. Besides, the levels of those white wristband players aren't very high."

The black wristband player laughed upon hearing this. "So you're saying you want to eat them?"

He was referring to the three red wristband players.

The three became guarded under his gaze. However, Xu Huo suddenly smiled at that moment, grabbed his sword, and charged at the black wristband player!

The Fair Wallet, the Omnipresent String, and the kite string were all thrown out almost simultaneously. But unexpectedly, the black wristband player flipped away to dodge, then turned back and casually swept his hand through the air. The wallet, string, and kite string all smashed into a nearby chair. At the same time, he raised a gun in his right hand and fired continuously!

The bullets created a series of consecutive dents in the metal deck, chasing after Xu Huo and shooting through the cabin door to the side.

The intense stench forced the black wristband player back a bit. Xu Huo seized the chance to flee deeper into the cabin.

"Trying to run!" The black wristband player's face darkened. Without him needing to say it, the three red wristband players beside him immediately gave chase.

Because of Xu Huo's disruption, and with three fewer players applying pressure, the players holding their breath under the pool surfaced. One of them used a large fan to blast a faceful of water at the black wristband player. The other players then used items or their characteristics to delay the three, buying themselves a chance to escape.
