Xuelian also spoke up for the other two women. "Boss Zhao Rong, they're right. We survived a shipwreck, but our private yacht sank. At the critical moment, you bought an escape pod. Zhao Rong explained to her, "Because the shipwreck we experienced before wasn't a real shipwreck at all."
Beside her, Yu Lan was stunned. She looked at Zhao Rong, unable to believe her ears. "Boss Zhao Rong, but the shipwreck we went through felt so real!"
Xuelian, recalling the terrifying event, asked, "So, are you saying that the shipwreck we experienced was just a man-made illusion?"
Zhao Rong turned to face them, his gaze sharp and clear as he explained carefully, "The shipwreck we experienced was not only a man-made illusion but also a hallucination that occurred in our own minds."
Finishing his explanation, Zhao Rong suddenly looked at the skinny guy beside him. "Skinny, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and get that Divine Artifact you used to create the shipwreck."
At his words, the skinny guy's face went pale. He looked at Zhao Rong in terror and stammered, "Boss, you're incredible… You knew everything we did. You saw through it all."
With no other choice, the skinny guy walked over to a nearby tree and dug up a hidden device that looked like a generator—the shipwreck creator. When Zhao Rong's group saw the object in the skinny guy's arms, they exclaimed in surprise, "Is that thing the so-called shipwreck generator?"
Zhao Rong placed the machine on the ground and prepared to demonstrate. "Everyone, get ready," he announced. "As soon as I press this button, you will feel as if a shipwreck is happening all around us."
With that, he flicked the switch on the shipwreck generator.
The instant he activated it, everyone around him began to scream. Lili saw the once-calm sea suddenly erupt into a violent storm with torrential rain. Yu Lan watched in horror as waves as tall as twenty-story buildings crashed down toward them. Xuelian felt the seawater surge over them, dragging them under completely. The assistant felt himself sinking into the crushing depths of the sea. Surrounded by monstrous shapes in the dark, he found himself unable to breathe. Slowly, his eyes closed, and he lost consciousness.
Just as the assistant, Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian were all slumped on the ground in terror, one after another, Zhao Rong immediately pressed the stop button on the machine.
The moment he did, the terrifying shipwreck vanished. Suddenly, everyone was back in reality.
When Lili saw that the violent storm had been replaced by a bright, sunny sky, she said in disbelief, "Holy crap… I can't believe everything I just saw was an illusion created by that machine."
Yu Lan stared at the spot where the giant waves had been just moments before. "Oh my god," she said, her voice trembling with fear. "Were those waves I saw really just an illusion from the generator? That's impossible… It all felt so real."
The assistant, who had fainted with his eyes shut, slowly regained consciousness. He looked at the empty ground around him, the terror of being on the seafloor still fresh in his mind. As he staggered to his feet, he muttered, "This shipwreck generator is unbelievably realistic. I genuinely felt myself sinking into the Mariana Trench. I was being crushed by the water pressure, suffocating to death… How did I suddenly end up back here, on dry land, without a single drop of water on me?"
While the assistant and the three women were reeling in astonishment, Zhao Rong told them calmly, "The reason you experienced that illusory shipwreck is all because of the machine right here beside us. It was all its doing."
