Chapter 457 - 459: You... Really Didn’t Touch Raina Bell?
Thomas Shannon hadn’t expected her to pull such a move and was caught off guard when she deliberately stepped on his foot.He frowned. "You..."
"What do you mean, ’you’? Was my step too light for you?"
Thomas Shannon grasped her jaw with one hand, pulling her face close to his. Lowering his head, he stared deeply into her angry eyes. "Are you angry?"
Harry, restless in her arms, stretched his fluffy head and rubbed it against Sophie Sullivan’s chin, making her itch.
Noticing her discomfort, Thomas Shannon let go of Harry with one hand. "Go play somewhere else."
The rejected Harry circled Thomas Shannon and Sophie Sullivan a few times before reluctantly running off.
Thomas Shannon wrapped an arm around Sophie Sullivan’s slender waist and then grasped her jaw, a wicked smile curling the corner of his mouth. "You little maniac, what sort of rubbish is going on in your brain? Can’t your thoughts be a little purer?"
Sophie Sullivan was speechless.
"That day, during the social event, my shirt got wet with red wine, so I went to change. Where did your thoughts wander?"
Sophie Sullivan remained silent.
Really? Was that all?
Thomas Shannon pinched Sophie Sullivan’s chin, forcing her to raise her head and look at him. "Listen closely, I’m only saying this once. Raina Bell did not ’serve’ me. Social events require women, understand?"
"Who requires them?"
"Who do you think requires them?" Thomas Shannon lowered his head, his thin lips brushing a kiss against the corner of her mouth.
Sophie Sullivan faltered. "Who... who knows if you need them or not."
"When I’m with Raina Bell, I don’t. Now..." The man’s cold eyes, filled with predatory aggression, scanned her up and down. "I do."
Sophie Sullivan glanced at him suspiciously. "Did you... really not touch Raina Bell?"
"No."
"Alright, I believe you." He wouldn’t dare do something and then not admit to it.
Sophie Sullivan’s straightforwardness surprised Thomas Shannon. He had thought, given her temperament, she would continue to pester and make trouble before finally giving up. He hadn’t expected her to be so direct.
"Done fussing?" he asked, lowering his head and gently biting her red lips.
Sophie Sullivan huffed twice. "If you didn’t touch Raina Bell, what’s there for me to fuss about?"
Honestly, did she have nothing better to do?
"Is there anything you want to say to me?" Thomas Shannon murmured, holding her lower lip between his, gently sucking and nibbling.
Sophie Sullivan’s heart sank. Had he discovered something?
This was the second time he had tried to get her to tell him something voluntarily.
Sophie Sullivan raised her hands and wrapped them around his lean waist, her voice soft and gentle. "Let me think about it... Don’t push me."
Although he wasn’t entirely satisfied with her answer, he wasn’t angry either.
If she wanted to consider it, he would give her the chance.
Thomas Shannon cupped her face and gave her an intensely passionate, deep kiss.
After they had kissed their fill, he held her as they returned to the castle.
Minimus Hart watched Sophie Sullivan, nestled by Thomas Shannon’s side, her lips flushed and slightly swollen. A flicker of resentment crossed his eyes, gone in an instant.
He bowed respectfully. "Young Master, shall we start the meal now?"
"Mm," Thomas Shannon replied coldly.
Sophie Sullivan glanced around and, sure enough, Raina Bell was nowhere to be seen. Her mood lifted a little more.
Seeing Minimus Hart looking at her with displeasure but unable to do anything about it, her mood improved even further.
"Thomas Shannon." Her good mood made her voice light and cheerful.
Her naturally soft voice, now tinged with cheerfulness, sounded even sweeter.
Thomas Shannon felt his heart melt. He turned his head to look at Sophie Sullivan, who was clearly in high spirits. "Hmm?"
Sophie Sullivan smiled, her eyes crinkling. "You’re holding me too tight; I can’t breathe."
