Thomas Shannon let out a soft laugh, just about to speak when Sophie Sullivan snatched the mobile phone away."William Guillen, have you finally tasted the bitterness of rejection?"

He ground the cigarette butt under his toe a couple of times.

"No, just in a bad mood." Thomas pulled Sophie into his embrace with one hand, ignoring her struggles, and lightly pecked her soft cheek.

William raised a hand to his forehead, "Thomas... what should I do?"

"When you asked her to be your girlfriend when she was hurt, did you ever consider how she would feel? Whether your intentions were pure or not, she’d have doubts. Whatever she’s doubtful about, just dispel her doubts, right?"

William immediately deflated like a punctured puffer fish, speaking somewhat dejectedly, "I don’t know how to dispel her doubts."

"Aren’t you usually quite adept at handling women, doesn’t this stymie you?"

"Thomas... Autumn isn’t like those women."

Sophie leaned her head back, trying to move away but couldn’t escape, so she let him continue, "Isn’t selfishness good? At least I prioritize myself and my feelings."

"You’ve considered yourself, but what about me?"

Sophie chuckled softly, poking his chest with her hand, "You can learn from me, think more about yourself, can’t you?"

"Heartless little scamp."

Thomas pressed her fidgeting body into his chest and lowered his head for a deep kiss.
