Chapter 1026 - 1028: Trust Me, I Will Grant Your Wish

Like he was coaxing a pet, "Cecilia Branford, your face has already recovered. Going back now is no different from telling those people you’re still alive and well, and that you’ve come back with hatred. Do you think they won’t strike first?""Lucifer, you mean I have to hide here for a lifetime?" Sophie Sullivan was completely baffled. "Weren’t you the one who wanted me back in Country F the most? You said that was my home."

Lucifer held a faint smile, his deep blue eyes filled with doting. He gripped her shoulders, turned her body to face himself, lowered his head, and said softly, "Cecilia Branford, Country F is indeed your home, no one can deny that. It’s just that right now the situation is special..."

"Special?" Sophie Sullivan sneered. She seemed to have figured something out. Her gaze, cold and stunning, swept over Thomas Shannon, then over Lucifer.

Sophie Sullivan pried open Lucifer’s hand and backed up a few steps. "What are you two plotting? You want that imposter to go marry my fiance instead of me, don’t you?"

Thomas Shannon: "..."

Lucifer: "..."

Their thoughts were seen through, and a flicker of guilt flashed simultaneously in both of their eyes.

Sophie Sullivan let out a cold laugh. She laughed at herself for being stupid, for being such a fool. "I should’ve thought of it long ago. I should’ve known you’d already teamed up... Since you don’t want me to go back, fine, I’ll go back myself."

She would never just stand by and watch an imposter steal everything that belonged to her.

Including her fiance!

Sophie Sullivan turned around and headed out. Her slender body seemed to contain endless strength.

"Cecilia Branford, wait."

Lucifer and Thomas Shannon rushed after her at the same time. One on the left and one on the right, they grabbed her wrist and pulled her back, not letting her leave.

Sophie Sullivan took a deep breath. "Let go."

"Sophie Sullivan, you can’t go back." Thomas Shannon’s voice was low, carrying a trace of unquestionable deterrent force.

Lucifer also spoke up: "Cecilia Branford, don’t be impulsive. There’s always a way to solve this. Let’s talk it over together before we decide, okay?"

"In the end, talking it over just means it’s not allowed for me to go back, so forget it."

Lucifer didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He reached out his hand and pinched her cheek. "Cecilia Branford, you’re this cute even when you’re angry."

"Lucifer!" Sophie Sullivan was furious. Was this the time for jokes?

"Okay, okay, okay, my fault." Lucifer let go of her hand. Looking at her huffy expression, he really liked her so much he almost wanted to bite her.

He looked over at Thomas Shannon, signaling him to handle it.

Thomas Shannon’s corner of the mouth hooked up slightly, pulling out a hint of a contemptuous smile, and he completely ignored him.

Good for you, Thomas Shannon, still trying to stay out of it and reap the benefits, huh?

Lucifer forcibly suppressed the fire surging in his chest. He lowered his head, soothing Sophie Sullivan. "Cecilia Branford, listen to me. This doesn’t necessarily require you to show up in person to stop it. I have plenty of ways to make an accident happen at their wedding."

"What do you mean?" Sophie raised her head, finally willing to look him in the eye.

"Make sure they can’t get their marriage done. How about that?"

Sophie Sullivan was half-convinced. "You have a way to stop their wedding?"

"Of course." Lucifer rubbed her head. "Trust me, Cecilia Branford, I’ll do exactly as you wish and stop them from holding that wedding."

Sophie Sullivan’s attitude gradually softened. "Fine, I’ll trust you this once."

She paused, then added, "But I still have to go back once."

"Why?" Lucifer’s smile froze. Hadn’t his delaying tactic already worked?
