Chapter 616 - 608: Return to the Ji Family for a Tearing Fight (Part 2)

Ji Chicheng didn’t ask Ji Anning further; he released her arm and began searching again. He encountered a woman in an airport staff uniform and grabbed her hand, "Have you seen a little girl in a red sweater, about two years old, with her hair in two pigtails?"

The staff member thought for a moment, then said, "I just saw a middle-aged man carrying a little girl who was crying, and it seemed like she was wearing red."

Upon hearing this, Ji Chicheng didn’t hesitate for a moment. He snatched the walkie-talkie out of the staff member’s hand and spoke into it, "A child has been kidnapped; lock down the area, check the surveillance, a little girl in a red sweater, about two years old, with her hair in two pigtails."

No sooner had he spoken than someone else continued the announcement through the walkie-talkie.

Ji Chicheng paid no attention and headed downstairs with the walkie-talkie.

Ji Anning stood rooted to the spot, at a loss.

Suddenly, her cellphone in her bag rang. She frantically fished out her phone and glanced at the caller ID—a strange number calling from ’Hai City’.

Without hesitation, she answered and put it to her ear, "Who is this?"

"You can stop looking. I’ve taken the child."

The familiar voice of an old man made Ji Anning startle.

There was also the sound of a child crying in the background.

"She’s blind in one eye—don’t frighten her," Ji Anning said, holding back her anger as she instructed the old man on the other end of the call before hanging up.

Ji Chicheng continued his frantic search.

Ji Anning ran over to him and grabbed his arm, calling out, "Uncle."

Ji Chicheng stopped, turned around, and seeing Ji Anning’s calm expression, he frowned and also breathed a sigh of relief, "Did you find Fenfen?"

"Grandfather took her away," Ji Anning said flatly, letting go of Ji Chicheng’s arm.

Hearing this, Ji Chicheng clenched his fists tightly, almost crushing the walkie-talkie in his hand; he gritted his teeth, trembling all over.

A chilling aura emanated from him, cold enough to suffocate.

Ji Anning watched, feeling somewhat afraid, and took hold of Ji Chicheng’s hand again, "I think he just wants us to go back."

With that, she let go and walked towards the exit.

They found no record at the Capital Airport of the old man having a ticket for Hai City, so they likely hadn’t taken a plane, or they were not even in Capital City.

Either way, they were certain they would see Fenfen if they went to Hai City.

Ji Anning and Ji Chicheng immediately booked tickets from Capital Airport to Hai City. Throughout the journey, both of them were silent.

In the business class, there were only the two of them and an assistant.

Ji Anning kept looking out of the window. The plane soared above the clouds, and her heart was filled with worry—worry that the old man would scare Fenfen, worry about having to step through the doors of the Ji family home again.

It had been over two years. Ji Ruoqian, Ji Xiangting, Ji Jingfeng, and so forth, these people who were irrelevant to her, she had almost forgotten them all.

Now she had to face them again, and... her.

Was she already back at the Ji family home or still on Garden Island?

Thinking about all this gave her a splitting headache.

Their flight at ten-thirty in the morning arrived at one in the afternoon.

After two days of travel, they finally reached the Ji family estate, the deep courtyard she grew up in, with its fountain spraying water like a celestial maiden scattering flowers, continuously recycling its flow.

The car slowly entered the courtyard, circled around the fountain, and stopped at the bottom of the steps leading to the main entrance.

Ji Chicheng opened the car door and got out first, his presence domineering.

Ji Anning followed closely behind, stepping onto the staircase. With each step she took, a complex feeling grew within her heart.
