Chapter 611 - 603 Mysterious Triangle Love (Part 3)

"What did you say?" Ji Anning couldn’t hear clearly what her assistant was muttering and was about to ask when a chorus of voices suddenly called out to her from behind.

"Mommy."

Ji Anning turned around, startled by the tall figure standing behind her. She looked up and asked in surprise, "Uncle Chicheng, when did you start standing there?"

Ji Chicheng’s face was cold and stern, and he did not speak.

He walked to the opposite seat.

Seeing this, the assistant hurriedly stood up to give up her seat, and as she did so, she picked up a dessert from the table, "I’ll go keep Fenfen company and feed her some food."

After a quick greeting, she dashed off.

Having received no response from Ji Chicheng to her question, Ji Anning didn’t ask again. She picked up her drink, biting down on her habit, as her gaze drifted out the window.

The Capital City was usually shrouded in mist.

The streets were bustling with traffic.

She remained silent, and the man opposite was also quiet, yet his presence was so strong that Ji Anning’s eyes couldn’t help but stealthily glance across the table.

Ji Chicheng was wearing the same light camel cashmere sweater as the day before, with a layer of visibly soft fuzz on its surface that made his handsome face look even more fair and warm.

He lounged on the leather sofa, his long fingers holding onto the handle of a porcelain coffee cup, the other hand lazily stirring with a spoon.

His gaze, too, was fixed outside the window.

"Uncle Chicheng, would you like some dessert?"

In the end, Ji Anning couldn’t hold back and pushed the dessert in front of her towards Ji Chicheng.

Still, Ji Chicheng did not speak. He brought the coffee cup to his lips and took a delicate sip, elegant and at ease.

Ji Anning grew somewhat annoyed and furrowed her brows, "Did you see today’s news?"

The man continued to ignore her, and she huffed, "Humph, if you don’t want to talk to me, fine."

What a snob!

She would stand her ground; in the end, she was sure to be the victorious one. She had endured the loneliness last night and didn’t go looking for him.

Just as she was preparing to act indifferent, the man opposite suddenly spoke.

"Didn’t you say that I barely speak three words to you in a day? That counts as the first word, two to go."

After speaking with a nonchalant tone, he shifted his gaze away from Ji Anning’s face and back towards the window.

Raising his coffee cup, he savored it contentedly.

Ji Anning: "..."

So, he really had heard what she said just now, darn it.

She pouted, "You normally speak fewer than three words to me per day. Yesterday when you came here, you only spoke one sentence to me, ’That should be fine.’"

After speaking, she gnashed her teeth in frustration, almost snapping the habit in her mouth.

Ji Chicheng wasn’t looking at her, but his eyes, gazing out the window, became brighter and more radiant, a hint of a smile slowly spreading across them.

The two sat facing each other, yet without words.

Ji Anning felt awkward, so she reached for the dessert she had earlier pushed towards Ji Chicheng and pulled it back in front of her, picking up a spoon to start eating.

"The news says that you’re going to compete with me for Qi Helian."

She couldn’t help but speak to him again, "Ninety percent of people support the two of you being together."

Ji Anning didn’t know what she was trying to express, she just really wanted to find some presence in front of him.

She wasn’t like this before. She had liked him for so many years, and even in her youthful and impetuous days, she could quietly enjoy the feeling of unrequited love.

Now, a bit older, she had become much more restless.

"Are you within that ninety percent?" Ji Chicheng turned his head, raising an eyebrow as he looked at Ji Anning.
