Chapter 577 - 569: His Warmth (Part 2)

After a brief explanation, Ji Anning got up and went upstairs.

While walking, she patted her burning face with her hand.

This is too embarrassing, too embarrassing. I should’ve switched the channel the moment that scene came up. Why did I keep watching with such relish?

And to think I could talk about it so casually... isn’t it just... rolling in the sheets...?

Ah! I really want to find a crack in the ground to crawl into and never come out again.

Ji Chicheng watched Ji Anning beat a hasty retreat, and couldn’t help but replay the scene from the TV moments ago in his mind. A certain part of his body started to heat up, especially with the alcohol fueling the fire, making the heat rise even quicker.

However, Ji Mingyue was still there, fanning the flames, "I hope I’m not intruding on your fun."

She held back her laughter, pretending to look at Ji Chicheng with an inquisitive face.

Ji Chicheng kept a straight face, and Ji Mingyue immediately shook her head and waved her hands, "No worries, no worries, I’m catching a plane tomorrow night. It’s such a big house; you guys can have fun as you please."

As she spoke, she turned around, twisting her waist, humming a tune as she walked towards the staircase.

"Oh, right." Ji Mingyue had just stepped on the stair when suddenly, she seemed to remember something, stopped, turned around to look at Ji Chicheng, and said seriously, "Have your fun, but please don’t corrupt wuli Fenfen’s pure little eyes."

Once she finished speaking, she continued upstairs.

The hands that Ji Chicheng had stuffed in his pockets clenched into tight fists. It wasn’t irritation at Ji Mingyue’s teasing but an attempt to stifle the burning... desire within him.

He too started walking, with heavy strides up the stairs.

As he reached his room door, he reached for the doorknob, ready to open it when suddenly he pulled his hand back and, on an impulse, turned and opened the door of the opposite room.

There was a nightlight on in the room. The dim light added a hint of mystery, and his tall figure stiffened instantly.

"Uncle?"

Hearing the door open, Ji Anning jumped off the bed, alert. Seeing Ji Chicheng, she called out in surprise.

She had already snuggled into bed and taken off her outer garment; now she was only wearing a nightgown. Although not very voluptuous, she had a different kind of charm after having a child.

Ji Chicheng’s gaze unintentionally swept over her chest, his Adam’s apple bobbing once. He quickly moved his gaze away, towards little Fenfen who was fast asleep on the bed, and then pointed at Fenfen, telling Ji Anning, "I came to see Fenfen."

Because he was suppressing his desire, his voice sounded hoarse.

As he stepped towards the bed, Ji Anning watched his tall silhouette, pursing her lips, feeling uncontrollably dejected.

He was just here to see Fenfen.

She followed him and stood next to Ji Chicheng, also looking at Fenfen, softly saying, "She didn’t sleep much this afternoon and went to bed early tonight."

"Mm," Ji Chicheng nodded lightly, his tone losing some of its coldness and gaining a touch of gentleness.

Ji Anning couldn’t help but feel weak and tingly all over, which gave her the courage to speak to him. She took her gaze off Fenfen and looked up at Ji Chicheng’s face, asking, "Uncle, have you been drinking?"

He reeked of alcohol, so this was a question she asked knowingly.

Because she couldn’t find any other topics to chat about with him, but really wanted to talk to him, to hear his voice, to hear that gentle tone which had not been directed at her for a long time.

"Mm," Ji Chicheng nodded again and softly acknowledged.

"Oh," Ji Anning pouted, not knowing what else to say.

The atmosphere fell silent, a quiet so profound that they both could feel the ambiguity between them. They both understood it was because their hearts were unsettled.
