Chapter 563 - 555 Ji Mingyue’s Visit (Part 4)

Ji Anning watched Fenfen looking so happy, so excited, and felt an indescribable sourness and guilt in her heart.

When they were in Country Y, Fenfen had never been to such a place, never had contact with so many children.

That’s why it seemed like she had entered another world, a world she had never reached before.

"Fenfen, I’ll take you on that little train,"

In such situations, Ji Mingyue was also childlike, trying various amusement rides with Fenfen.

Ji Anning carried a big bag filled with Fenfen’s outing necessities, following behind them.

An afternoon spent with the child didn’t feel long, it felt too short because it was too joyful, too relaxed.

The little girl was sweaty from running around crazily. When they went out, they came across a dessert station; she stubbornly wanted ice cream. It was too cold, Ji Anning didn’t want her to eat it, but Ji Mingyue couldn’t withstand the little girl’s wheedling and queued up to buy it for her.

Ji Anning waited with Fenfen beside the queue for Ji Mingyue.

Suddenly, a balloon flew past them, catching Fenfen’s attention, and she ran after it.

Ji Anning hurriedly followed closely behind Fenfen, watching her take a winding path, her small body swaying. Ji Anning was on edge, fearing she might fall.

"Fenfen."

Suddenly, a familiar, mature male voice came from ahead. Ji Anning was startled and her face turned pale for a moment; she looked up.

A middle-aged man, elegantly dressed, approached her and Fenfen, his deep blue eyes looking affectionately at Fenfen.

"Charles," Fenfen stopped, looking up at Charles.

Seeing Charles approaching, Ji Anning came to her senses, took a big step forward to Fenfen, and bent down to pick her up.

Then, she smiled faintly and greeted him, "Mr. Charles."

Charles nodded back with a smile, his gaze returning to Fenfen. He reached out and gently pinched her little cheek, "Did Fenfen miss Mr. Charles?"

"Yes," the little girl first nodded, then shook her head, "No."

Her mind wasn’t on Charles, who had appeared suddenly; it was all on the balloon she had wanted to chase.

Charles frowned, displeased.

His displeasure was sincere, sending a chill over Ji Anning, causing her to tighten her arms in fear.

"Is a hug from Charles okay?" Charles extended his arms wanting to hold Fenfen.

As Ji Anning was thinking about how to refuse him, Fenfen suddenly turned her head and burrowed into her embrace.

"No, mommy hug."

The little girl straightforwardly refused Charles, and his expression changed again. He reached out, forcibly took Fenfen from Ji Anning’s arms, and then looked down at Fenfen, coaxing her, "Charles will take you home, to Charles’s little kingdom in Binfen, and build you an amusement castle."

"No." Fenfen shook her head, uncomfortable in Charles’s embrace, her arms reaching out to Ji Anning, "Mommy... mommy..."

Ji Anning reached out, heartachingly trying to hold her, but Charles’s expression darkened, glaring at her, his gaze icy cold.

She trembled with fear, not daring to act rashly. She withdrew her hand, her face pleading as she looked at him, "Mr. Charles, Fenfen is still young, she doesn’t understand anything."

Charles no longer looked at her with the gentle eyes of the past, his gaze icy, speaking in the same cold tone, "Two months’ time, less than a month left, do you not want to take Fenfen back anymore?"
