Chapter 479 - 471: A Kiss, One Million (Part 14)
Ji Anning went directly to the VIP channel to prepare for boarding.
Wang Zhuoling had taught her this trick a couple of years ago, and she hadn’t forgotten: wearing a mask and sunglasses while standing in the crowd actually made her more conspicuous, as if she was announcing that she was a celebrity.
Although she used to dislike some of Wang Zhuoling’s excessive methods, she had to admit that she had learned a lot by following her.
For instance, she learned to recognize reality, and how to quickly choose between what she wanted and what she needed.
"It’s Li Nianjia, isn’t it?"
"Yes, she’s so beautiful, I can’t believe I’m seeing her in person."
"Li Nianjia, Li Nianjia."
Two girls in the VIP channel recognized Ji Anning and excitedly cut in line to get closer to her.
Having already done several rounds of promotions, she was eager to return home, so she did not want to cause a scene today. She nodded slightly to the two female fans, and with the security’s escort, she boarded the plane ahead of everyone else.
"Hello."
Once on the plane, the flight attendant greeting passengers at the door recognized Ji Anning. Her eyes lit up with excitement, but without asking further questions, she directly led her to the business class.
Ji Anning was dressed in a white chiffon blouse, black wide-leg pants, and black heels that were about five to six centimeters high. Her footsteps echoed on the floor, adding to her presence.
The flight attendant escorted Ji Anning to her seat and then nodded slightly, "Miss Li, this is your seat. I’m the chief attendant on this flight. If you need anything, please let us know. I wish you a pleasant journey."
"Thank you," Ji Anning replied politely with a nod. Then she set down her LV handbag, removed her sunglasses with one hand, and took off her mask with the other.
Her gaze inadvertently swept over the seat behind her, and she was startled. Just with that one look, all the buried emotions in the deepest part of her heart suddenly surged forth.
It was like a relapse of a poisonous wound, utterly uncontrollable.
The man was also lazily looking up when Ji Anning caught sight of him. He lifted his head and, upon seeing Ji Anning, his somber dark eyes shimmered unnoticeably.
He seemed thinner in those clothes than he had been before.
Thinner, thinner, much thinner.
Ji Anning felt a sourness in her eyes. She quickly lowered her gaze and looked away, but inadvertently her eyes fell on the man’s hands resting on his lap, and on the back of his right hand near the wrist were a row of teeth marks that, although not deep or obvious, seemed to glow, causing a pang in her heart.
"It really is Li Nianjia, she’s actually here."
"Ah, I’m so glad I bought a business class ticket."
Sudden excited voices of two girls came from outside the door, disrupting Ji Anning’s train of thought. She hastily shifted her gaze and looked toward the entrance of the business class—it was those same two girls who had squeezed in line behind her earlier.
Facing their enthusiasm, she pressed her lips together in a tight smile and then bent down to take her seat.
Her back pressed firmly against the comfortable backrest of the seat, she breathed carefully and quietly, trying not to make the slightest sound.
"Sister Nianjia, I really love your performance in ’Scarlet Night’, you were so cool in it."
The two enthusiastic fans entered the business class and, instead of settling down immediately, they approached Ji Anning to start an excited conversation.
Ji Anning responded graciously, "Thank you."
"Can I take a photo with you?"
The two girls took out their phones and asked for a photo with her. In such a situation, Ji Anning couldn’t refuse, so she graciously agreed, "Sure."
