Ji Anning observed this and responded with an open smile, "I had no idea I had the honor of being Ms. Wan’s stand-in before."

This reply made Wang Zhuoling, who was nearby, look at her with new respect, her worried gaze turning to admiration.

It was obvious to everyone that Wan Yueyue had meant to humiliate Ji Anning, yet she responded generously without feeling insulted.

Frustrated by her failed attempt, a flash of annoyance crossed Wan Yueyue’s bright eyes, and, not to be dismissed, she continued, "I didn’t expect you to sign with that little company Jiahao."

While saying this, she glanced at Wang Zhuoling, who had a reputable name, and out of respect, most people in the circle would give her face, "But having Sister Wang guide you is a shortcut after all, better than any scandal you could concoct."

Ji Anning of course understood her implication; it was because of her rumored affair with Qi Helian.

He continued to move closer to Ji Anning as he spoke.

"It’s alright." Ji Anning smiled, gently shaking her head.

A message alert from WeChat appeared on his phone. Qi Helian glanced at the sender, his brow furrowing with impatience, and swiped the screen, preparing to check the content.
