Chapter 456 - 448 Transformation (Part 11)
Ji Anning nodded with certainty, "Yes, the contract was signed."
"I mean you and..." Qi Helian began to say, but then he realized Wang Zhuoling was beside him, he looked over and said to me, "Sister Wang, Anning and I have finally run into each other. Let me take her to have a chat."
It was just a form of greeting, without any real intention of asking for her opinion.
He reached out to press the elevator button again.
Ji Anning had only ever seen Qi Helian’s cold ruthlessness; this was the first time she experienced his domineering attitude, and it was directed at her.
She couldn’t break free from his grip, it was too late, and she didn’t want to make too much noise and disturb the neighbors, so she had no choice but to let him drag her into the elevator.
It was only after entering the elevator that Qi Helian finally let go of her hand.
"Qi Helian, what are you doing?"
There was no one else in the elevator, and Ji Anning glared at him angrily.
"I wanted to ask what you were thinking?" Qi Helian’s cold, angry gaze bore down on Ji Anning, "Do you have any idea what you’ve done to him?"
Ji Anning gave a cold laugh, "Isn’t breaking up a normal part of dating? Just because I was with him for a while, does that mean I have to take responsibility for him for life?"
Ji Chicheng was her Achilles’ heel; whenever she heard about him, especially anything negative, her heart would uncontrollably stir.
Fearing that she might appear to lack confidence, she shouted the words at Qi Helian.
Just then, the elevator doors opened.
The first thing to hit her was a waft of alcohol. Ji Anning looked up and froze.
Seeing her reaction, Qi Helian also turned his head and was equally shocked, "Chicheng?"
Ji Chicheng’s handsome face was flushed red. His white shirt, which was rarely seen in such disarray, showed glimpses of his collarbone, as if he had just been molested.
He was holding his suit jacket, obviously very drunk.
Seeing him sway, Qi Helian immediately went out to support him, "How did you get up?"
"Going home." Ji Chicheng pushed Qi Helian’s hand away and staggered into the elevator, bringing with him a strong scent of alcohol.
Standing in front of Ji Anning.
Ji Anning held her breath and stepped back until her back was pressed against the elevator wall.
Qi Helian, concerned about Ji Chicheng, followed him into the elevator. He frowned in vexation as he looked at Ji Chicheng and said, "Is your bed more comfortable or is your house bigger than mine?"
Ji Chicheng pressed for the first floor, and seemingly unable to stand properly, leaned casually against the wall without responding to Qi Helian’s question.
Qi Helian glanced at him and then at Ji Anning but said nothing more.
The silence in the air was so oppressive it was suffocating.
It should have been just a twenty-something story descent, a matter of seconds, but for Ji Anning, it felt like an excruciating eternity.
This was the second time Ji Anning had seen Ji Chicheng drunk, aside from when he was blindfolded. The last time had been on a video call where she couldn’t touch or see him clearly.
Back then, she wished she could teleport instantly to his side to take care of him.
But now, she was right beside him and yet, she couldn’t even afford a glance.
During those seconds, Ji Anning held her breath until finally, she heard a ’ding’.
She felt as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.
As the elevator doors opened, she stepped forward, passing in front of Ji Chicheng without looking at him.
Ji Chicheng followed, straightening up with one hand braced against the elevator door frame, and stepped out of the elevator.
Less than two meters apart, Ji Anning could still clearly smell the alcohol on him. She clenched her fists tightly, putting a great effort to make each step seem nonchalant.
