Chapter 349 - 343: All I Want Is Just One Ji Anning (Part 2)
She didn’t know what had happened, but when she opened the door, she was startled.
The man stood with his hands stuffed in the pockets of his immaculate black trousers; his white shirt made his peach-blossom eyes that smiled at her appear even more bright and clean.
His tall figure leaned lazily against the doorframe of Ji Anning’s room, his profile facing her, seemingly in a very good mood.
Ji Anning wasn’t sure if the others in the home had woken up, and she dared not make a sound, only glaring fiercely at Ji Chicheng with her bright, almond-shaped eyes.
Not only did Ji Chicheng ignore her silent message, but he also leaned in swiftly and pressed a kiss to her lips.
It was as light as a dragonfly touching the water.
"Grandfather, I’m definitely being framed by someone,"
Just then, Ji Jingfeng’s voice suddenly came from downstairs, his tone full of grievance.
Ji Anning’s face paled with fright as she grasped Ji Chicheng’s arm and pushed him towards the door, "Go away, go away, you’re going to scare me to death one of these days."
It wasn’t enough for him to climb into her window and bed every night, giving her shocks and thrills—he wouldn’t leave her alone even during the day.
Suppressing her voice, Ji Anning was almost communicating by lip-shape alone.
Ji Chicheng, however, spoke in his usual tone, completely unconcerned, "They’ve all gone to watch the drama."
At those words, Ji Anning breathed a sigh of relief. She withdrew her hand from pushing Ji Chicheng away and asked him curiously, "What made grandfather so angry? What did Jingfeng do?"
"I don’t know," Ji Chicheng shrugged his shoulders and shook his head. Then, taking advantage of Ji Anning’s bafflement, he suddenly took her hand, "Let’s go see."
Oh heavens!
Did this guy have a death wish, or did he wish her dead?
Unable to speak out, Ji Anning could only struggle fiercely, but it was useless; his large hand was like a handcuff, the more she struggled, the tighter he gripped.
And it was slightly punitive too.
Ji Anning felt her heart’s endurance was surprisingly stronger than she imagined, teetering on the verge of collapse time and again, yet now still alive and well.
It was truly incredible.
Ji Chicheng let go of her hand when they nearly reached the staircase.
Then, she waited until Ji Chicheng had gone downstairs before appearing at the stairway entrance herself.
Cautiously peeking into the living room, the old man stood next to the sofa with his hands behind his back, his face an iron blue.
Ji Jingfeng kept his head down, motionless.
In the spacious living room, only the grandfather and grandson were there; she didn’t see any other family members’ figures.
Now Ji Chicheng went downstairs, his steps neither hurried nor slow, until he reached the sofa’s side. He bent down and sat, casually picking up today’s newspaper from the coffee table and glancing at it.
"The Ji Family made the headlines."
A subdued statement, without a ripple of emotion.
It was like stating a fact.
Yet it triggered another wave of anger in the old man’s heart. He bent down and snatched the newspaper from Ji Chicheng’s hands, crumpling it into a ball, and flung it furiously at Ji Jingfeng’s face, "Drunk and indulging in excesses, you have made the Ji Family lose all its face."
Ji Jingfeng didn’t dare to dodge and took the hit squarely. Ignoring the pain, he looked at his grandfather with a wronged expression, "Grandfather, I was set up. I was just dining with a few friends last night. It’s true I had some drinks, but only a little—I always know my limits with alcohol. With that little amount, I couldn’t possibly be drunk. I must’ve been framed."
Made the headlines? Framed?
Hearing all this, Ji Anning started to understand why the old man was angry; Ji Jingfeng had caused some scandal that made the news.
That was a great taboo for the Ji Family.
