Chapter 289: A Violent Interlude, Attendant's Time
Chapter 289: A Violent Interlude, Attendant's Time
The princess was intimidated by the wild aura emanating from the man and involuntarily took a step back, her brows furrowing.
She couldn't comprehend why this person was immediately resorting to violence, nor why he had just asked the "King" beside her why he hadn't killed her yet.
Hearing Sun's disrespectful words about the princess, the guards intensified their efforts, pressing him forcefully against the ground.
Lu Ce's golden mask maintained its usual indifferent expression, exuding an air of arrogance as he calmly replied, "Do I need to explain my actions or intentions to anyone?"
Sun grunted in pain, every part of his body firmly restrained. The physical discomfort paled in comparison to the humiliation he felt.
Last time he couldn't defeat this man, and now he wasn't even given a chance to fight back?!
"The mission is a wedding. Killing her now would make things more interesting," Sun spat out. "I thought you'd do it. Never expected... your mission this time is different. Seems you've become the game's lapdog..."
Despite his current pitiful state, Sun refused to back down verbally, continuing his stream of insults.
Unfazed, Lu Ce crossed his legs and swung one leisurely as he remarked, "A creature on all fours indeed has clearer understanding about dogs."
Sun struggled violently again, glaring furiously at the man before him, realizing he couldn't win this verbal battle either."Who are you? What are you talking about?" The princess interjected, her expression darkening. Were these two casually discussing her life and death right in front of her?
Sun slowly turned his head toward the princess. "A princess... at your age?"
The live audience was stunned by this remark. The princess was exceptionally beautiful and appeared young - what could possibly be wrong with her age?
But Sun felt no obligation to explain, continuing instead: "Though... your spiritual energy is remarkably high..."
"I met a woman in Japan with high spiritual energy, though not as high as mine."
"Yours surpasses hers, but compared to me..."
Still pinned to the ground amidst violently burning flames, Sun tilted his head thoughtfully.
"Hard to say..."
The guards restraining him were now grimacing in pain - those physically holding him down were essentially being roasted by lava!
Seeing this situation, the princess quickly waved her hand. "Take him away and lock him up. Ensure palace security and prevent any incidents."
"Also, interrogate him! Find out his purpose and why he attacked suddenly."
The guards acknowledged the orders before dragging Sun away with tremendous effort, leaving a trail of scorched earth behind as if hauling a locomotive.
Though thoroughly restrained, Sun stopped struggling, instead fixing Lu Ce with a sinister grin. Though masked, he knew the other was watching him too.
Both understood their encounter in this game wouldn't end so simply.
Lu Ce particularly knew Sun hadn't truly lost - he still had desperate measures held in reserve. Not that Lu Ce particularly cared.
......
As the commotion outside seemed to settle, Xie Antong's curiosity reached its peak.
"What happened? Is the fight over? Any results?"
[Comment: Sun got restrained, so fierce taking on over a dozen! Seems he hasn't used that ultimate move from last time.]
[Comment: Don't worry Blank, Sin is fine!]
[Comment: Could just ask Sin directly, we all understand!]
Xie Antong: "......"
She felt speechless. The crucial issue was that with such drastic developments right at the start, her plans to meet the princess later would likely need adjustments again.
Always having to improvise when Sin was involved - she was getting numb to it.
But the guards were even more exasperated.
Finally, after this violent interlude with Sun temporarily concluded, all attention shifted to Lu Ce.
"And you are...?"
Even the princess, impressed by Lu Ce's displayed power and previous statements, became cautious.
"You... both of you, what brings you here?"
One of the original room guards finally stepped forward to ask. Upon hearing the request was simply to change rooms, the guards' silent disbelief was deafening.
The princess adopted a defiant attitude, her eyes darting about, clearly giving silent permission for Lu Ce's seemingly whimsical demand.
The guards were baffled - what "room change"? The golden-masked man just arrived! Where would he even stay?
But the princess absolutely couldn't leave her room. That rule was unbreakable.
They tried reasoning with him patiently.
The princess knew this arrangement was impossible - even with her highest authority, some orders the guards simply wouldn't obey.
She'd tried before. Now she could only pin her hopes on the "King," transferring her request authority to him.
Lu Ce didn't disappoint, standing his ground firmly about the room being his.
Exasperated, the guards eventually proposed an outrageous compromise after much negotiation:
The two could temporarily share the room during daytime, since the upcoming attendant's schedule couldn't be delayed.
They'd figure out proper arrangements afterward.
The princess was surprised by this major concession. But seeing the golden mask's disdainful look - as if she was trying to take advantage again -
she nearly lost her composure.
Meanwhile, the magic-wielding guards worked tirelessly to repair the damaged palace.
......
Dong!
Until the second bell rang, signaling the second attendant's arrival.
A well-dressed gentleman in a tailcoat emerged confidently.
With impeccable manners and a practiced smile, he was escorted by guards toward the princess's room.
Upon opening the door, he immediately bowed deeply at 90 degrees.
"Honorable princess, you..."
"You..."
Who the hell are YOU?!
