Chapter 176: It's all a hot mess, so let's dig in while it's hot

Chapter 176: It's all a hot mess, so let's dig in while it's hot

It looked just like a suicide, but the moment his body touched the ground, it rippled like water—then he was gone.

Gone!

No one knew what that Earth Walker was up to, he just vanished.

But then, a shark fin appeared on the ground, swimming around, popping up now and then to jab at people—completely unpredictable, like it was testing who in the crowd were still players.

In an instant, shrieks broke out among the crowd, people jumped in panic—it was absolute chaos in the plaza.

Chiyo Eine also noticed that thing underground, but she couldn’t lock onto it at all. Her ground-binding array didn’t work on it either.

Top players from all over really had their own tricks. Ranking didn’t always mean everything.

Well, except for Park Bu Seong—he was actual trash.

The shark fin on the ground stirred things up like mad, tripping a whole wave of people. Some players couldn’t hold back and started fighting back—instantly exposing themselves.

The shark fin seemed to make its own choices. If it was dealing with civilians, it was like a skateboard—just tripping them and causing a scare. But when it came to players, it turned into the sharpest blade in the world, launching ruthless attacks.

This was a Hell Mode Game. Everyone here was a veteran player.

If you're scared, then give it all up and exit—no big deal. But if you’re greedy and not strong enough...

Then your fate is sealed.

Xie Antong was calculating the fin’s appearances, weaving through the panicked crowd like a swimming fish, staying unnoticed while thinking about how to escape.

Only Reno, the twelfth player, looked utterly useless. He couldn’t do a thing and turned to leave, looking embarrassed!

But he didn’t make it far—something silver shot up from the ground and slammed hard into his shinbone.

Crack!

It straight-up broke his leg. Reno collapsed in pain, face grim but silent. He gritted his teeth and started crawling forward.

Wu Changkong underground was a bit stunned. What kind of useless guy was this?

Still, he didn’t plan to hold back. The shark fin shimmered with a cold gleam as it dove straight ahead!

If that hit landed, this American guy was going to be split in half for sure!

But at the last second, Reno's movements—though not pretty—were agile enough to get him under the Tokyo Tower.

He reached out and touched it!

The metal surface of the tower instantly liquefied, like it had been hit by a fireball from the sun. But it didn’t cool down—it flowed into Reno’s body.

In a blink, a high-tech exoskeleton wrapped around his whole body—practically turning him into a human mech.

Electric energy condensed at his shin, lifting him off the ground. He now looked like a full-on weapon of war.

His left hand stayed pressed against Tokyo Tower, metal constantly flowing into him.

With a lift of his right hand, it morphed into a massive drill, growling menacingly as he smashed it into the ground!

The shark fin vanished instantly—no idea where it went.

But the ground wasn’t so lucky. That drill was slammed down with fury, and the earth cracked open. Fissures spread outward. The ground nearby even collapsed for no clear reason.

“Tokyo's civil engineering might need some work.”

He cracked an American-style joke with a cold face. His left hand never let go. The entire Tokyo Tower was getting sucked into him, turning into armor.

Then, he casually raised a massive shield with a deep clang, his leg braces stabbing into the ground, keeping him steady.

Turns out, it was Lu Ce who gave him a shot while brawling with Sun.

While fighting, Sun was tossing out fireballs, aiming at Chiyo Eine and Wu Changkong on the ground. Sparks flew off his body, even hitting some bystanders.

Lu Ce pulled out a book from who knows where. Maybe he wanted to show it off? Even during a fight, he couldn’t shut up.

“Feeling good lately? If you're happy, read a book. Guess you’re not feeling so happy now.”

Chiyo Eine was unbelievably busy, casting spells like crazy—some for binding, some for shielding, some for attack. She was all over the place.

No one was focused solely on their opponent. Everyone was thinking about the big picture, aiming for Perfect Completion. It was an all-out brawl!

Sun gave a cold snort and suddenly stomped the ground. A pillar of fire shot up, blasting Wu Changkong out from underground.

Then, the first maniac appeared.

Reno, from the U.S. Special Forces, looked at the chaos and carnage around him. Something about it must’ve triggered his PTSD—his face was lit with madness and excitement.

He raised his right hand—and dropped a massive Gatling gun.

No way that thing existed in the real world. It looked like something born of fantasy, built purely for war.

Then, the firepower unleashed. 3,600 rounds per minute, raining bullets like hellfire. The Tokyo Tower behind him served as his ammo depot—and now it was leaning!

His main targets were those few, but attacks like that couldn’t help hitting others too.

“Everyone, get out of the way!”

Chiyo Eine shouted, summoning a massive black hand that wrapped around Reno and raised a barrier in front of him.

People finally started running in all directions. You’d think their brains were fried—after all this chaos, they were just now trying to escape.

Xie Antong blinked a few times and got right behind Chiyo Eine—not to backstab, just because it was safer here.

She had been popping pills since the chaos began. Never got caught, never got hit.

Goddess of Self-Preservation.

Under the terrifying barrage of bullets, what was technically a battle among a few players looked more like a full-blown military assault. Lu Ce’s voice rang out, excited.

“Nice, nice! This is how it should be!”

“Yo, this place is already a hot mess—everyone, dig in while it’s hot.”

“Let me pop a potion first. Hey fire boy, can you not throw fireballs at me right now?”

Xie Antong listened to Sin's voice in her ear while controlling the All-Seeing Eye, watching Chiyo Eine form seals—very curious.

But... she might’ve gotten too close.

Chiyo Eine seemed to sense something. She whipped around suddenly—their eyes locked in surprise.

“It’s you?! That person called Blank?”

“You’re with Sin! You’ve been hiding here all along?!”

Chiyo Eine instantly flared up like a spooked cat, jumping back several meters, eyeing Xie Antong with deep wariness.

Xie Antong: ?
