Chapter 383 - 235: Deeply in Love [Part 2]
When Pedro Langley came back from the shower, Nora Scott was already feeling sleepy.
As he lay down beside her, Nora felt a chill and opened her eyes, feeling a bit more awake.
"Hiss~"
Nora groped for Pedro Langley’s hand and touched his cold skin, confusedly asking, "Did you take a cold shower?"
"What else?"
With a smile, Pedro Langley pulled his hand away to avoid cooling her down.
Nora didn’t care and grabbed his hand again, muttering, "Reluctant to pay for a hotel room, aren’t you?"
"Does it pain your heart, make you feel guilty?"
Pedro Langley took the chance to tease her further.
"No, you brought it on yourself." Nora said seriously, "After all, someone as dazzling as me, everyone knows to keep their distance—"
Before she could finish, Pedro Langley poked her cheek, speaking earnestly, "Be good, let’s keep some dignity."
"..."
Nora slapped his hand away.
Unfazed, Pedro Langley put his hand back on her face, earnestly discussing with her, "You know, I’ve reflected on this, it’s a technical issue, we cannot just—"
Always hitting the sore spots!
Nora was exasperated and gritted her teeth, "I’m gonna kick you."
"Sleep."
Pedro Langley decisively suggested.
After he mentioned this, Nora suddenly felt annoyed, turned over and pulled most of the blanket, leaving him a corner.
Pedro Langley moved closer to soothe her, "Angry?"
"..."
"I won’t mention it again."
"..."
"Actually, I’ve always wanted to ask—"
"Shut up!"
Nora, filled with dread, turned over to cover his mouth.
"If you don’t want me to silence you, stop mentioning this." Nora threatened through gritted teeth, then stared into his eyes, "Blink twice if you agree."
"..."
Pedro Langley blinked twice compliantly.
With a cold snort, Nora released her hand, intending to turn over again but was pulled in by Pedro Langley.
Nora glared at him, "You—"
Pedro Langley, in a negotiating tone, said, "Dearest, can I get some blanket?"
"..."
Pedro Langley continued, "It’s pretty cold."
"Move over a bit."
Eventually soft-hearted, Nora replied irritably.
The blanket along with her was once again pressed by him.
Pedro Langley thoughtfully let go of her.
However, just as Nora was shaking the blanket open to "reward him" a bit, Pedro Langley seized the chance and slipped in thoroughly, pulling her back into his arms.
He whispered, "Feels warmer now."
This man was like a furnace, just a moment ago covered in chill, and now suddenly—
Nora was speechless, "You—"
"Hmm?"
Pedro Langley deliberately prompted.
"..."
Nora was left speechless.
Recently, Pedro Langley’s thick skin seemed to grow visibly, now as tough as a city wall, and witty remarks and complaints had no effect on him. Soon enough, they might be completely useless.
She simply stopped talking, letting him be.
After all, it wasn’t her feeling uncomfortable.
She closed her eyes to sleep, and a long while later, half asleep, half awake, she suddenly thought of something and asked, "Wait, why did you come here?"
In her daze, she didn’t even know if she was asking in her head or actually aloud.
Until—
"Missed you."
Those three light words, wrapped in warm breath, sank into her ears.
Nora fell completely asleep.
*
The next day.
Just like yesterday, Nora slept until the sun was high in the sky, slowly waking up.
With a "swish," the tightly drawn curtains were opened, and the morning sunlight poured in, hitting Nora just right, so bright that she instinctively kept her eyes closed, but the warmth on her skin was incredibly comfortable and cozy.
She didn’t want to move at all.
Suddenly, a shadow fell, blocking the sunlight.
She uncomfortably scrunched her brow, keeping her eyes shut.
Then, a hand fell, warm fingers brushing across her cheek, tidying her messy hair back.
The man leaned down, kissed her cheek, and asked, "Want to stay in bed?"
"Mmm."
Nora randomly reached out, grabbing his hand, not letting go.
"Not hungry?" Pedro Langley asked softly, patiently and gently, with a lighthearted smile.
"Hungry."
After three seconds of silence, Nora answered.
Pedro Langley asked again, "Ten more minutes of sleep?"
"Mmm." Nora responded, feeling him about to get up, she shook his hand slightly, "Don’t move, just block the light for me."
"Mmm."
So Pedro Langley sat back down again.
A few seconds later, Nora said, "Don’t block it all, let me sunbathe a bit."
"..."
Pedro Langley didn’t say anything, just chuckled helplessly.
Such a darling.
Holding her hand, placing her arm in the sunlight, he adjusted his posture and angle, casting just enough shadow to block her face.
Nora stayed in bed for the full ten minutes, finally waking up.
Sitting on the bed, she directed Pedro Langley to get the clothes she planned to wear today from the backpack, placing them within her reach, then signaled with a wave that Pedro Langley was no longer needed, dismissing him.
