Chapter 303 - 198: Shopping Trip, Master Pedro’s Mischief [Part 3]

Chapter 303 - 198: Shopping Trip, Master Pedro’s Mischief [Part 3]

Nora Scott’s trip this time was "quite fruitful."

She slid one hand into her pocket, and with the other hand holding a backpack, casually slung it over her shoulder.

"How about we go shopping later?"

As they re-entered the BBQ restaurant, Nora suddenly suggested.

"Why?"

Suspecting she just came up with it, Pedro Langley was puzzled.

Glancing at the backpack on her shoulder, Nora smirked with a righteous look, "Ill-gotten gains shouldn’t last overnight."

Seeing her like this, Pedro couldn’t help but chuckle, "Then why did you still take it?"

When she pocketed that deposit, those people almost cried.

—Apparently, if the task wasn’t completed, the deposit had to be repaid tenfold; it’s the rule of the street.

What they took on ended up being a loss on both sides.

Nora laughed off, "Don’t want it for free."

Thinking they could "beat Pedro Langley to death," yet still wanted to keep some deposit... what a fantasy.

She considered it as her travel expenses for the trip.

For her to step in, such a small amount in the backpack wasn’t nearly enough.

"Alright."

Pedro chuckled helplessly.

As they climbed the stairs to the second floor, Nora suddenly asked, "Is there something you want to buy?"

"Thinking of giving me a gift?"

"After all, I exchanged it for half of your life."

"..."

Pedro was completely speechless with her comeback.

Reaching the second floor, Nora glanced at the clock on the wall and kindly said to Pedro, "There’s still time, think it through."

Pedro: "..."

Nora seemed to be in a good mood, carrying the backpack, leading the way to the designated room, and pushed the door open.

But as soon as she stepped in, before even having time to put down her backpack, Pedro suddenly grabbed her, leaning close, forcing her to step back until her back pressed against the just-closed door.

Lowering his head, Pedro’s voice deepened, "No one’s around now."

"Hmm?"

Nora raised her eyes to look at him, puzzled.

"Nora, that thing you did earlier, teasing me," with his palm on her cheek and fingertips brushing her lips, Pedro’s voice was slightly hoarse and sexy, "don’t you think you should explain?"

"Ah..."

Nora recalled that moment, her eyes widened slightly, seeing Pedro’s serious expression, after a few seconds, she uttered a single syllable, "Huh?"

"Are you taking responsibility or not?"

Pedro insisted aggressively.

"..."

Nora’s cheeks and ears started to turn a faint pink upon her fair skin.

"Last time—"

Nora attempted to argue, but Pedro quickly interjected, "I’ll take responsibility."

"..."

The nerve!

After a moment, Pedro’s voice heightened with a soft hum, "Hmm?"

"Speak properly." Nora glared at him.

This man was born with a great voice, even speaking normally could drive voice-enthusiasts crazy, but when he did it intentionally... it was too flirtatious.

"I won’t push you, just tell me..." gently touching his forehead to hers, Pedro looked into her deep but bright eyes, watching her trembling eyelashes, he softly asked, "In these five years, have you been with any other man?"

Nora’s expression shifted slightly, finally not indulging him anymore. She grabbed his wrist, pulled him, and pinned him against the wall.

She leaned forward abruptly, her breath surging out, pretending to be fierce as she warned, "Are you looking for a beating?"

Surprisingly, Pedro didn’t panic despite annoying her, allowing her to hold him, his eyes filled with a light smile, relaxedly watching her.

"Flustered and exasperated, so there wasn’t any."

He concluded, his tone affirmative.

"..."

Nora looked at him in shock.

Then, she heard him slowly add, "I haven’t either."

"..."

This was maddening!

Nora had enough, she stepped on his shoe.

Pedro winced and drew in a breath, but as Nora turned away, he didn’t fear capturing her hand.

"You’ve already stepped, no need to be angry." Pedro essentially played coy.

Nora was shocked, "You’re still bargaining?"

Pedro maintained his composure, "I’m a businessman."

"!"

Nora was left speechless by his logic.

"Since yesterday, haven’t you wanted to say something to me?" Pedro suddenly asked.

Speaking...

The matter long tossed to the back of her mind was finally brought back by Pedro’s reminder.

For a bit of ambiance, she spent half a day picking out a place she frequently visited, avoiding high-end Virtue Retreat and low-end street stalls, she finally selected a uniquely decorated, elegantly ambient locale where an opened window could reveal a view, imbued with a little sentiment.

But—

It was all ruined.

The timing was delayed, and the mood was gone.

Nora shook him off, tossed her backpack onto the cushy chair, regaining her composure, "Don’t feel like talking anymore."

Being so infuriated, what was there to say?

Confession or whatever... it wasn’t suited for her anyway.

Plus, if this guy wanted to mess around, let him. She wasn’t concerned about this little time.
