Chapter 292 - 191: All-Night Company, Michael Quinn Missing [Part 3]
Nora Scott stared at Pedro Langley like he was a fool.
After a long while, she said, "Are you crazy?"
Seemed annoyed, seemed helpless.
As for the irritation and awkwardness before departure, it dissipated the moment she saw Pedro Langley.
With a gentle smile, Pedro Langley nonchalantly said, "If you don’t let me inside, I’m really going to get sick."
"..."
Staring at him for a few seconds, Nora Scott had a bunch of swearing words but didn’t know which to start with.
She stepped aside a few paces, standing at the entrance of the living room, suddenly asking him, "What are you doing here?"
"Afraid you can’t sleep by yourself."
Pedro Langley stepped into the hallway, closing the door to block out the intruding wind and rain.
"Me, unable to sleep?"
Coldly tugging at her lips, Nora Scott let out a scornful laugh and turned to leave.
But before she could take a step, her wrist was grabbed, and she was pulled back directly into a damp and warm embrace, her chin bumped against his shoulder, and the scent of tobacco intensified.
His hand wrapped around her waist, using some force to prevent her from easily breaking free.
"Stubborn." Pedro Langley’s deep voice fell from above, gravelly and hoarse, carrying an unusual allure, "You can see the sofa from the window, you didn’t know?"
Nora Scott gently furrowed her brow, glaring at him, "Are you a peeping tom?"
"Only peeking at you."
Pedro Langley wittily took over the conversation.
"You—" Nora Scott gritted her teeth, "Let go."
Pedro Langley didn’t let go, just held onto her, and after a few seconds, leaned close to her ear and whispered, "I’m hungry."
The low, rich voice drifted into her ear, somehow making it impossible for Nora Scott to get angry.
After a few seconds of silence, Nora Scott slowly opened her mouth, "... There’s only egg fried rice."
Michael Quinn had eaten most of the dishes, and there was only a bit of rice left. The fridge had a few ingredients left, but when Michael Quinn left, Nora Scott gave them all to him, leaving only two eggs.
"That’s fine."
Pedro Langley released her, not picky at all.
As her fingers brushed past his drenched coat, Nora Scott paused slightly, her gaze sweeping over his wet hair tips, "Did you really stand there for three hours?"
"Yeah."
"Are you stupid?"
"A bit."
Pedro Langley surprisingly admitted.
He was just worried about her after heading home, so he detoured here, planning to take a look at her and leave.
Since he came late, he thought she was asleep, but instead found her idly contending with the TV, yet not really watching, her soul wandering away, absent-minded and bewildered.
Someone as alert as her should have noticed him by now. However, this time was very odd, she genuinely didn’t sense his presence.
Waiting outside for a long time, finishing half a pack of cigarettes intermittently, he still hadn’t figured out how to comfort her, finally thinking of leaving once she fell asleep.
Unexpectedly—
She just endured, waiting for the time to pass bit by bit.
Until halfway through, when she reached the doorstep of Antonio Easton’s bedroom, he couldn’t hold back anymore and came to knock on the door.
If he were a bit smarter, he would’ve appeared earlier, even if just to spend idle time with her, rather than letting her endure the time alone.
"..."
A faint glance at him, Nora Scott turned around without speaking.
After Pedro Langley changed his clothes and came into the living room, Nora Scott tossed him a hairdryer and a blanket, then headed to the kitchen.
The sudden care startled Pedro Langley; it wasn’t until the roar of the extractor fan came from the kitchen that he slowly returned to reality.
Lowering his gaze to look at the hairdryer and blanket in his hand, Pedro Langley’s lips curled slightly.
*
At one in the morning, Nora Scott was busy in the kitchen.
This scene was something not only Pedro Langley hadn’t imagined, but also something Nora Scott surely hadn’t.
With his hair dried, Pedro Langley leaned against the kitchen door, taking advantage of Nora Scott’s focus on frying eggs to record a video with his phone.
—Maybe there won’t be a second time.
"You—"
Nora Scott just began to speak, abruptly turned around to see the phone lens aimed at her, and instantly narrowed her eyes dangerously.
She changed her words, "What are you doing?"
"A memento."
When discovered, Pedro Langley didn’t panic, calmly responding before saving the video.
?
Nora Scott was momentarily stunned, recalling Michael Quinn had done something similar, unsure whether to be angry or amused.
Indulging them!
"What were you about to say?" Pedro Langley put away his phone, changing the topic.
"I’m going to Anchel in a few days."
"Electric Festival?"
"There’s also some other stuff," Nora Scott said, "Not going together."
Pedro Langley thought about his recent plans, not insisting on tying their schedules together, and nodded slightly, "Okay."
"Also, Ethan Scott—" The words paused briefly, Nora Scott thought for a moment and still advised, "That kick you gave wasn’t light, it’ll keep him in bed for ten days or half a month, he’s petty, be cautious."
Pedro Langley laughed and asked, "Worried about me?"
