Chapter 1994 - 1013: The End Approaches

"Denisha, what a coincidence, I didn’t expect to meet you here, have you eaten?"

Looking at the Good Sister’s gloomy face and the disappointment nearly overflowing from her eyes, Dorothy felt a bit cowardly and awkward. She hesitated for a long time, eventually scratched her head, and then laughed awkwardly while babbling.

However, unfortunately, even though Denisha usually indulges her, she is unlikely to give in easily on such crucial issues, especially after repeated warnings.

"I told you earlier in Japan, Dorothy, there is nothing in this world worth sacrificing yourself for. If there’s a next time, then I will personally destroy everything you wish to protect."

Lord God King’s eyes, as dignified and noble as a deity, held absolute reason and indifference. Facing her sister’s attempt to muddle through, she simply stated.

And she carried through.

"Sister, no..."

Dorothy realized the seriousness of the problem, her face changed drastically, and she just wanted to plead for mercy, but before she could speak, God King’s Divine Punishment had already descended.

This was also the first time the Homebody Witch witnessed the power of the Witch King.

Lord God King did not need to act, nor did she need to.

When the thought of destruction emerged in her heart, the fall of this great world was already a foregone conclusion.

Time instantly accelerated ten million times, and the Homebody Witch watched helplessly as the mechanical grandeur she spent 300 years finally establishing headed toward extinction.

All because, on that day, the Winter Empire lost both its Empress and Goddess.

Then chaos ensued.

Originally united because of shared faith and Empress’s leadership, the diverse clans began to have little schemes for their own interests in this leaderless situation.

Initially, everyone just wanted to seek a little more benefit for their tribes, but then the ambition grew bigger, the appetite deeper; the Winter Empire became fragmented under the push of ambitious individuals.

The Mechanical Church was supposed to reverse the tide at this time, but losing the Goddess’s favor, the once wise Mechanical Monks became anxious and despairing; they even began self-punishment, daily repenting in front of the deity’s image, seemingly thinking the Goddess’s departure was due to insufficient faith.

Of course, some Mechanical Monks felt they should reverse the tide, as the Goddess had long imparted wisdom on how to lead the Empire onward, and besides, the Goddess merely guided; the Empire’s current prosperity was actually created by mortal hands, and now without the Goddess’s absolutely correct guidance, they might make mistakes more easily, but trying more still allows for survival.

After all, fledglings must eventually leave their parents and fly alone, perhaps the Goddess’s departure is her final gift to them.

Regrettably, once these Mechanical Monks’ ideas were proposed, they were immediately denounced as heretical by more Mechanical Monks, thus the Mechanical Church headed towards division.

Then, war began.

The newly independent Hundreds clans, the Mechanical Church branches accusing each other of heresy, the southern countries long dissatisfied with the Northern Territory’s might among humans...

This was a terrifying war that swept across the entire world.

All at once, flames of war everywhere, cries of the world, suffering rampant, mortal purgatory.

It took Dorothy and Elsa 300 years for the Winter Empire’s unity, and now from unity to fragmentation, it took only a month, the downfall of this vast empire took but a week.

The various mechanical creations originally made to benefit the world now all transformed into weapons of war.

The weather systems once used to regulate climate for convenient farming now whipped up storms, sent down torrential rains, stirred up tsunamis, triggered floods...

The nanotechnology body modification once meant for curing diseases was now used to create Super Soldiers, countless invulnerable, immensely powerful humanoid weapons were produced...

Not to mention those Mechas, Floating Warships, Super Electromagnetic Cannons, Nuclear Cannons originally meant for war...

This war had no victors, only a total loss.

The mechanical might rampaged across the earth, taking away this once-prosperous great nation’s last pride, the many wonders that former Empire citizens were proud of now reduced to ruins under the baptism of artillery, leaving only the scorched earth wasteland.

When a few Lucky Ones who hid in various shelters came out again, what they faced was only the wreckage-filled wasteland.

But it doesn’t matter, many scientists and magicians were still alive, and the survivors under their guidance prepared to rebuild a new home, however...

The plague descended.

That world war really killed too many people, and not just humans, but also the Supernatural Hundreds.

The Great Dragon’s body oozing poison, the neck of the headless Angels spraying curses, pieces from dismembered Demons containing desire’s lure, the Elves’ World Tree, the Dwarfs’ ashes fused with the creation furnace...

These deceased supernatural beings silently cursed the surviving masses, their resentment transformed into terrifying poison, the Scarlet Plague descended, this plague born from the dead’s resentment naturally restrains all living things, even contaminating a little meant only powerlessly awaiting death for survivors.
