Oops, Mommy Slept With A Tyrant

Chapter 266 Heteropaternal Superfecundation

Chapter 266 Heteropaternal Superfecundation

Laura continued ringing the doorbell.

She had nowhere else to go, and she figured that at some point, Kelsie would get curious and come to the door.

Unfortunately for her, Kelsie’s medication had made her drowsy, so she left the living room to her room to sleep.

As she closed her door, Daniel was walking out of his room toward the kitchen but paused when he heard the doorbell.

Seeing that no one was in the living room, he immediately assumed they hadn’t heard it and went to answer.

"Call your mother for me right this..." The moment she heard the door opening, Laura gritted her teeth and started lashing out—until the silhouette of a tall man appeared before her.

Flinching, she stumbled backward and looked up at Daniel.

She remembered him from her family’s last meeting with the Adler family just before disaster struck.

Swallowing and feigning confidence, she scoffed, "You... what are you doing here?"

Daniel looked her over before hissing, "I knew today was going too well. How did you even get in?"

Laura quickly got over her shock and huffed. "What is that to you? This is my sister’s apartment, and I’m here to see her."

He thinned his lips, staring at her for a moment before reaching for his phone.

"Yeah, there’s an unwanted person on Floor 49. Hurry up and get here so you can throw her out."

Laura narrowed her eyes at him, the realization that the only person he could possibly be calling was security, shortly dawning on her.

"What are you doing? I’m here to see Kelsie! You have no right to stop me! Kelsie! Kelsie, are you there? Kelsie, please come to me!"

When she started screaming, Daniel frowned and stepped back to close the door—but she stepped in as well, agitating him.

"Why? You think I won’t shove you out just because you’re a woman?"

The words had barely left his mouth when a tiny figure ran past him to Laura and bit her hard.

The sudden attack threw Laura off balance. She stepped backward quickly, screaming in pain from the bite on her wrist.

"What a little vermin! Do you have no respect for your aunty?!" She yelled, gritting her teeth teeth in pain when she raised her head to glare at a gloating Keira.

"Uncle Daniel, close the door quickly before she wakes Mommy." Zade said softly, appearing behind him.

Keira placed both hands on her waist, returning Laura’s glare. "I knew from the voice she’s the bad aunty who often always bullies Mommy. Hmph! I can’t believe she came here!"

"She must’ve come to ask for money." Jesse added coolly, unknowingly stating Laura’s motive for coming.

Laura glanced in the direction of the calm, childish voice and gasped at the sight of him.

S-so that’s what this is about... That’s why they bonded so easily.

Kelsie must’ve had a son for Jett Adler and succeeded in trapping him with it. Given how she hid it from their parents and even the general public, she must’ve figured out it would do her much harm if people knew of his existence.

Her gaze shifted to Zade and she raised her eyes to Daniel’s face. She repeated this action one more time before she sneered.

"You Adler people are so gullible. Just because Kelsie has a son who looks like Jett Adler doesn’t mean the rest of the triplets are his!"

A huge question mark practically appeared above everyone’s head.

"Hmph! Your being so protective of Kelsie should’ve made it clear. You’re not being nice to her just because she’s your sister-in-law, you’re being nice because that other boy is your son!"

Daniel didn’t understand what she was getting at, but knowing it couldn’t possibly be anything worth listening to, he leered at her. "What are you trying to say?"

Laura huffed, her nose scrunching up in distaste as she continued, "Of course you’re dumb, so I’ll spell it out. Children can have different fathers. Twins. Triplets. In some cases, triplets really come out with different dads!"

Simultaneously, three of the four people standing before her glanced at Zade.

"Is that true?" Jesse asked.

Keira massaged her temple, shaking her head in disbelief. "That’s so bizarre. That can’t be real... right?"

Zade shrugged and met Keira’s eyes, "It’s called heteropaternal superfecundation, but it’s extremely rare."

"Alright, well, I’ve learned one thing from you, but it’s time to go." Daniel hissed, stepping forward to close the door, only to halt abruptly when Laura screamed.

"Lock me out and I’ll go straight to Jett Adler! I’ll tell him all about you and Kelsie!"

That finally set Daniel off and he snapped angrily, "What nonsense are you even talking about?!"

The elevator doors opened at this moment and a horde of security rushed out.

Daniel had made the call directly, so they were terrified and rushed up as fast as they could.

"Drag me out, I don’t even care! I’m just glad these kids finally know one of them is your kid! Yours and Kelsie’s!" Laura yelled, fighting the security as they dragged her into the elevator.

Though she was spewing nonsense out of desperation, her words stuck with Zade. After all, he was the only one who looked like Daniel.

"Babies, was anyone screaming just now?" Kelsie’s drowsy voice suddenly came from behind them.

Still rubbing her eyes, Kelsie froze when she felt a pair of arms wrapping around her tightly.

"I don’t care what they say, Mommy. I’m fine... as long as you’re my mommy."

She blinked, her eyes darting to Jesse and Keira as they walked in after Zade.

"I love you, Mommy." Zade repeated again, his grip tightening around her.

Naturally confused, Keira looked toward her other children for context.

To be honest, Keira didn’t exactly know what was going on.

Jesse had an idea, but a part of him felt Zade was simply overreacting.

So what if Daniel’s his father? He was still way cooler than that man who always wears suits around the house.

With that, he lowered his eyes when he felt Kelsie looking.

Since her children weren’t giving her anything to work with, Kelsie bent down and embraced Zade too, gently tapping his head.

"Baby, I love you too."

Zade beamed, but didn’t let go of her until he heard approaching footsteps and knew it was Daniel.

Watching him scurry away, Daniel sighed.

Watching Keira and Jesse hurry after him, Kelsie stared at Daniel questioningly.

"First, there was all that shouting, and now my kid’s just professed his love for me out of nowhere."

"Laura Sutton came by and might’ve said a load of nonsense whth this bizarre phenomenon where a woman’s triplets can belong to two men," Daniel muttered.

"Heteropaternal superfecundation," Kelsie added, her lips thinning as she narrowed her eyes. "What does that have to do with anything?"

Daniel scratched his brow. "She might’ve made him think he’s my kid."

"That’s ridiculous. I’ve only ever slept with one person in my life." Kelsie didn’t know when she huffed.

Daniel grimaced.

"I never got the chance to tell him that the year he was conceived was the second year of my banishment. I didn’t return until the year after."

Kelsie sighed.

Knowing Zade, he wouldn’t get over this easily. And if they told him Laura was lying, he wouldn’t believe them.

That left her with one choice.

She went to her room and returned with five cotton swabs.

She first swabbed her own cheek, then Daniel’s, and then the triplets’. Jett wasn’t home, so she made do with a few strands of his hair.

Daniel volunteered to run the samples to the lab while she reached Jett by phone.

Sitting behind the wheel, Jett picked up when he saw her name.

He rolled up the window to block out the background noise.

"You’re not done yet?"

"I fear your cousin is having too much fun." He replied, chuckling as he glanced out at the open field before him.

Luca Langford was crawling on the ground, dodging to the side as a pellet slammed into the spot he’d just moved from.

Molly held the mallet, a devilish smile on her face.

"When she said to give her Luca Langford, I didn’t think she was serious." Kelsie laughed.

Before the kids returned and they agreed to follow Molly’s plan, Kelsie had already walked Jett through her strategies from the last few weeks.

However, she intentionally didn’t mention how she never fallen into a coma.

After dodging hits for so long, Luca grew tired and slowed down. That’s when the mallet slammed into the back of his knee.

Though Jett was far away and inside the car, he could see the bone poking through the hospital gown and the blood quickly soaking the area around it.

Even the closed window couldn’t stop Kelsie from hearing Luca’s gut-wrenching scream.

"She’s worked for him since she was young, and now she’s just going to kill him?" Kelsie said aloud, half to herself.

Outside, Molly crouched to Luca’s level when he could no longer move.

"You’re just an ungrateful little girl. I took care of you all these years, and how do you repay me? With betrayal and backstabbing! I should’ve killed a little vermin like you a long time ago!" Luca’s eyes reddened furiously as he cursed her out.

Molly merely shrugged and raised the mallet, resting it on her shoulder with a wistful smile.

"Aunt Lois always said, ’If you can’t forgive the crime, just erase the person.’ So now I’m going to erase you... because I still can’t forgive the crime you had me commit against her."
